I’m thinking about starting a Tarot Journal, since I can’t do much witchcraft in the house I’m currently living in anyways. I figure this would be a great base to build upon once I’ve moved out of the house, and I can practice freely, and it will give me a way to feel like a more legit witch, since, again, I can’t do much where I’m at. (And it would give me an excuse to use my tarot cards, wahey @jet-bones-and-tarot.)
The first question is: What deck(s) do I want to make this journal about?
I have a few decks:
The Steampunk Tarot
The Tarot of Vampyres
Morgan-Greer Tarot
The Dishonored Tarot Deck
Should I just do it on one, or should I rotate them, or should I just use one, then another and another as I go through them over time? Or could I do each deck every day? (Most likely not, as that would be a lot more work, and I don’t always have the energy to do much. This journal alone is already a lot of work.)
And, if I get a new deck (and I most likely will), where would that fit in with the others? Would I fit it into a rotation, or would I want to wait until I have done the others? (I’m thinking I’ll most likely rotate them as I see fit.)
The second question is, where do I want to keep it?
A Notebook
Pros: Handy, personal, can take it pretty much anywhere, doesn’t require a computer, don’t have to worry about it being hacked or messed with
Cons: Can’t write too much without making my hand hurt, easy to misplace, can’t organize at my leisure, will run out of space eventually and I’ll have to go buy another one, do have to worry about my family finding it and reading it because privacy isn’t a thing.
Cellphone
Pros: Easy to carry around, doesn’t always require wi-fi to input information, family leaves my cell phone alone
Cons: Limited storage space, tiny screen is a pain in the ass to type on, would require me to download a notebook or diary app
Tumblr
Pros: Limitless space, can make a secondary blog just for the tarot journal if needed, can easily share it with friends if they want to look at it or I want to discuss it with them, will always be there unless something catastrophic happens, can access from mobile if I need to, can use regular sized keyboard to type, which is faster and easier on my hands than writing, family doesn’t know shit about my tumblrs.
Cons: Requires wi-fi to access, tumblr doesn’t always co-operate with posting, tumblr mobile is also a mess from what I’ve heard
Though the second part of that question is this: If I do put it on tumblr (and this does seem to be the best option), do I make a second blog just for tarot journaling, or do I keep it on here (which may or may not make it cluttered, but I can organize that with tags)?
Anyone who does have a Tarot Journal or has thought about a tarot journal have any ideas on where to begin and such?
