I suggest not villainizing parts because if they’re programmed parts (like me) they literally cannot help it and reprogramming is a really difficult process. I was brutally tortured until I had finally been conditioned and programmed to fight and torture other people/animals in grotesque ways. Obviously I don’t like most of you. Obviously I am going to lack some compassion. But I am not too far gone. I was a child when I formed, and I was forced to do the things I did. I am actively trying to deprogram, cut me some slack

I suggest listening to your persecutors. I suggest hearing their side of the story, I suggest understanding why they do the things they do. Do you know how long I was ignored? How I screamed and cried because something bad hadn't happened years after abuse ended? Because I felt like I needed to be abused, because that's what I deserved? And no one listened. They do now, they had to, because I kept putting us in the worst situations, sabotaged life plans, violent outbursts, the whole lot. I'm healing because they listened, but I'm not ashamed of what I did or why I did it, that was my reaction to our trauma, twisted logic really. No one is a villain for reacting to trauma. Maybe if I'd been seen as someone who was scared rather than a villain who was trying to make their life hell, it wouldn't have taken me so long to come around to the rest of the system

Theres people that will call persecutors 'evil' yet never take a moment to think on *why* one may act like they do

And especially when a persecutor is healing/getting better those people never look at the progress they made...

I suggest not calling every persecutor a "misguided protector" because it honestly just sounds like a sugar coated way of dodging accountability / dodging acknowledgement of how your actions harm people.

This is coming from a persecutory alter btw...idk i just really hate the "misguided blank" label thats been thrust upon persecutory alters by most of the system community, im not "misguided" bro I know exactly what im doing, I know its maladaptive and I personally am not trying to protect my system.
