For most of my life, I’ve used the ‘good life’ template. You know the one. The one that says go to college, get married, have two kids, a picket fence, and a dog. Don’t get me wrong, there are people who have amazing lives using this template. I’m just not one of them. 

I read a book last week - First Things First - that talked about prioritizing the things that are important to you. And suddenly I realized that I didn’t know what’s important to me. My dreams were on some computerized default setting. No customization or personalization. I have literally been living life by default.

Well that’s not working anymore. You only live once. It’s such a waste to live by default. So i asked myself some serious questions...what do YOU want from life? What are YOUR dreams? 

And I came up with a few things:

1. Find a way to manage my depression / Find peace of mind and spirit

2. Get to a healthy body weight (with no shortcuts)

3. Eat clean

4. Ditch the cold (aka the midwest) / Life is a beach

5. Find a partner

6. Help people conquer their depression

7. See the world

There is nothing in this list about a cute car, a townhome, and a cubicle. So I have some work to do!
