Listening to the novel Crash by J.G. Ballard - and these are my notes on the first chapter ( MAJOR SPOILERS)
This takes place in England
The first chapter talks about a now deceased man named Vaughan. He seemed to have died in a (you guessed it) car crash. It also seemed as though
that he was stalking Elizabeth Taylor. His car apparently crashed into hers, to which im assuming killed her driver but not her since the chapter mentions
that she was hoovering over the drivers arm.
The narrator is talking about Vaughan and the obsession he had with Elizabeth Taylor, obsessed with killing her via car crash. Vaughan would take pictures of the actress with a zoom camera lens; pictures
of her thighs, apex of her lips, and face were on his wall juxtaposed cosmetic surgical photos. Additionally, he also had a big dick??? So, he wanted to kill Elizabeth Taylor along with himself with his nut on the dashboard and Elizabeth's uterus pierced by a
the ornament on the hood of her usual car…sick pup
Vaughn and the narrator are obsessed with car crashes. I would say aroused by them. In a kind of morbid metaphor of sex and violence. Cars are usually seen as phallic so idk.
They studied car crashes via screenings at Vaughan house n such.
They would watch as people would be hauled away after being in car crashes via a such busy highway near an airport.
This nigga Vaughn killed a dog and wanna kill other people with cars.
The narrator lists a bunch of different types of car related deaths…its very intriguing in (again) a morbid, sexually depraved type of way.
Vaughan dreamt of hella dead celebs, following them with his camera. He had an obsession with Reagan's dick.
I think Vaughan is bisexual.
This book has heavy imagery involving sex, genitals, bodily fluids blood…yea…
