Tolerate
We learn to be polite so we can be pleasant to those around us and to be courteous to everyone. We know what we like, what makes us feel good, and we tolerate the things that we don’t align ourselves with. The people that shaped us illustrated how to handle ourselves, showing us what to tolerate. When we can tolerate, what we view as different from what we have learned or know, we can experience more peace.
When our view point becomes the only truth this separates us from happiness. If we don’t tolerate differences, this builds barriers that make us believe we need to take action against it. There is a difference between “what we accept” and “what we tolerate”. Our relationships suffer from our lack of tolerance when the cause is coming from everything else we can’t tolerate.
Take time to respond,
It’s not acceptance,
Mind your own business.
We need to be careful not to extend our frustration to the ones we love. When we are more tolerant to those we come in contact with, this makes the world a better place to live, and more importantly it brings the peace and joy we seek.
