Duterte still going strong amidst being called “Womanizer”
The video linked above is known to be a leaked video of Duterte last 2015 which shows that he already planned to run for presidency back then. This video was posted by “Mugstoria” on the famous website youtube which is known for its wide video sharing across the world. Since the presidential elections is very near—with only 1 and a half months left to decide which one of the candidates is worthy, this video was posted in order for the citizens of the Philippines to get brief knowledge on what projects or improvements Duterte have done for his current governing city, Davao.
This video was narrated by the Davao’s very own Duterte himself. He talked about how much Davao has improved and what laws he implemented when he became the Mayor of Davao City. The way he presented himself to the public may not really be notable to some like how Risa Hontiveros’ “Alampay” political ad has been giving us LSS (Last Song Syndrome) or like how Binay’s ad appeals to the people by relating himself to the less fortunate. However, his statements is based on facts. He gave us concrete examples on how we, the citizens of the Philippines, would want our country to be like.
In the recent Presidential debate held last February 21, 2016, Sunday, in Cagayan de Oro City, Presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte still leads the social media poll made by Rappler with 2,675 votes followed by Santiago with 798, Roxas with 736, Poe with 520, and at the last rank, Binay with 78 total calculated votes.
In this debate, Duterte emphasized on a corruption-free, crime-free Philippines. However, people find it very ironic since he is known for being an iron fist himself. He has been linked to many deaths of criminals. Although after everything he has been accused of, people still choose to trust and believe in his capabilities of running for Presidency.
His recent scandal is of him being a womanizer. He has been seen and caught by many people kissing and hugging multiple women. This alarmed feminist groups in the Philippines since they are now questioning his ability to run the government while being linked to multiple women.
Now let’s say this, will his attraction to women change his platform? Or will you still choose a thief for a President?
