i don't usually post about world affairs, but this one's important to me.

in just twenty four hours, three French billionaires got together to raise 700 million for the repairs of Notre Dame cathedral. That's three people.

Three.

Now, I'm not saying that the cathedral should not be restored at all. It's a iconic building to many people and represents something important. But our planet is dying.

The sad truth is that billionaires could easily raise enough money to stop world issues, but they simply do not care.

There's so much to be angry about right now.

Notre dame, real sad it burned down, especially just due to a minor fire safety violation

The funds so far donated is enough to remove the garbage island in the Pacific but we just dont care as much about the planet and we do the things we put on it

Brunei's fucking atrocious LGBT treatment. Most of us can say outlawing being gay is a bad thing, but take a moment to remember what it was like to get gravel filled snowballs thrown at you in high school. Now imagine that but over and over, till death, and its the law that they do it. I've seen posts about boycotting the Sultan's hotels, but that's like 10 hotels and there's no way I'll reach anyone who would go there. They do, however, own Shell garages - there's a boycott that could really make a difference. Be an ally, avoid shell like the plague.
