Walgreens #7007 got what they asked for. . .
The people at the Riverton, Utah Walgreens are very unprofessional and rude. When a man recreated my father’s credit card and used it at that location, the cashier did do a good job and called the police because it was obvious that the card was fraudulent. Now (well, a few minutes ago) my dad filled out a fraudulent claim with his bank, he was informed that he needed to attempt to get his money back from the Walgreens. Fine, fair enough. So, he calls the Walgreens in Riverton, Utah and asks for a refund (because Walgreens even KNOWING that the original perp was in fact stealing still ran the card and didn’t refund the money). Well, the lady talking to him, didn’t apologize for the situation (yes, I realize that it’s not her fault), and said that they couldn’t refund my dad’s money because the manager wasn’t there. My dad had to work to convince her to call the manager for several minutes and finally had to say that he would file a report against her and her specific store with Walgreens’ main office and the police. That was for her to even TALK TO HER MANAGER- note that she initially REFUSED. That’s right, she REFUSED to talk to her manager to see how to help my dad. After Dad said that he’d file a police report, she agreed to talk to her manager. So, she talks to her manager (supposedly), and calls dad back. She said that WALGREENS’ POLICY IS TO REFUSE TO REFUND MONEY WITHOUT A POLICE REPORT. When dad asked again if there was another way, she said “Well, you’re going to be disappointed because it isn’t going to happen.” No apology, no suggestion of a different course of action. So, Dad called the Walgreens’ main office and filed a complaint about the woman and her manager, and he called the Riverton, Utah police department and filed a claim not on the guy to created the fraudulent cards (because he’s already been reported), but on Walgreens #7007 itself. Regardless of policy, keeping stolen money is still stealing- especially when you know it’s stolen.
Oh, good news, the police are investigating and are sending a detective to the store to check things out.
Bad news, the people at Walgreens #7007 in Riverton Utah are rude, flippant, and definitely okay with keeping stolen money.
