Magma is a founding member of the New Mutants. She is a princess from the long-hidden city of Roma Nova. Magma is able to control molten lava and fire. She can transform her body into blistering Magma. She is also able to move tectonic plates and create earthquakes.

Big problem with transphobia in Nova Roma
TW/CW: Screenshots of two high up members in Nova Roma saying some horrible, horrible transphobic shit.
If you’ve been interested in Cultus Deorum Romanorum, the history of Ancient Rome, or just really like togas you probably have heard of an organization called Nova Roma. They have a pretty good wiki and seem to be made up of pretty knowledgeable folks. However there are two high up members that are disgustingly transphobic and basically the rest of the organization doesn’t seem to care. The two members are Hortensia Maior Fabiana Faustina and A. Tullia Scholastica and I’ll just let the evidence speak for itself:
I would highly advise that any and all transgender/gender-nonconforming individuals stay away from these folks at all costs. There are much more welcoming and accepting organizations out there for us. TERFs don’t interact
