I tried not to make this look like trash, but... I dunno. Emphasis on "tried". So anyway, here. A trio of magical Toffee wives.
Dulcinea the Dark Rose belongs to @imlovecraft
Juno Sagina belongs to me
and Nova Stratosphere belongs to @agentpfangirl1997 (I tried to use a glitter marker on her hair after remembering her starry hair phenomenon; didn't turn out well).
Used to spent my nights out in a bar room Liquor was the only love I've known But you rescued me from reaching for the bottle And brought me back, from being too far gone You're as smooth as Tennessee whiskey You're as sweet as Strawberry Wine You're as warm as a glass of Brandy And honey I stay stoned on your love all the time - Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton ---------- Consider this Toffee's happy ending in my AU; Nova and Toffee away from California (where Mewni was fused with) and possibility enjoying their solitude in another country.
I'm gonna stand up Take my people with me Together we are going To a brand new home Far across the river Do you hear freedom calling? Calling me to answer Gotta keep on keeping on I can feel it in my bones- "Stand Up" by Cynthia Erivo
"Calamity," Toffee called out, breaking the Mewman's train of thought. "Sorry sir, must've doozed off when I least expected it," she apologized as she rubs her eyes awake, feeling the cold metal on theright side of her face. "I just hope you remembered what today was." "But of course, today is the day you put your plan into motion, starting off what that Diaz boy," she answered, giving him a raised eyebrow as if she wanted to make sure he remembered, "I just hope you don't get too distracted when you get in there." He chuckled softly, "I'll miss these interactions with you Calamity." "Come on, it's not like you're gonna die," she retorted, "You'll be back, I know it." "You put a lot of faith in your master Calamity." "But ofcourse. I am, and always will be, your servant Toffee." ------- And that's it, all the Right Hand Mewman AU pictures I have for now. Hopefully I'll continue more drawings when I get the chance and the inspiration. XP
Anyway, I felt like drawing Nova in this really nice dress @bunnymund16 put her in a previous work of her's on DA. I can tell I'm not the only one who likes it. :3
The Mewman soldiers gathered their weapons and quickly got into formation as they rushed to a nearby village. They had heard about a lone monster that was roaming around in that area, for what reason was beyond them. Once they arrived to the village, they stood in disbelief of what they were witnessing; a cacoon shaped creature flew in the air destroying every house that was in it's line of sight with a beam of fiery energy. Once the creature was in their line of sight, the soldiers launched they're spears at the creature, only for their weapons to bounce back at them, either hitting the shields of the soldiers or impaling them to the ground. The remaining soldiers looked up at the creature and stared in disbelief. The creature's wings had eyes that seem to stare down into their souls and are judging them for the deeds they've done in the past. The owner of the wings was a Mewman with red skin, bright white eyes, and blackened out marks that the soldiers recongnize all too well. "The Stratosphere girl!" one of the soldiers shouted. "Stratosphere no more!" she shouted as she gathered more energy into her palms, "My name is Calamity!" Those words echoed into the air as the surges of energy were unleashed onto the soldiers, knocking them over completely and severely injuring them, rendering some, if not all unconsious. All but one soldier that is. Calamity fluttered down to the ground in front of him and watched as he cowered in her presense. "Where is she?" "W-Who?" the soldier asked, having no idea and possibly wanting to have no idea who this crazed monster was talking about. "Mercury Stratosphere! Where is her body?!" she screamed, wings expanding as the eyes stared down at the soldier, torturing him mentally. "The pit! Her body's at the pit!" he admitted cowering as he felt guilt and despair fall upon him. Calamity eased on him and started heading to the pit he speaks of, but before she could do anything else. "I can't have anyone knowing who I really am," she points her fingers at him, "Mind Eraser." -- "Any sign of Calamity?" asked Toffee. "Negative sir," answered Winston, feeling just as worried as the General was. Toffee sighed as he crossed out another area on the map. After finding Calamity's tent empty, he was starting to fear the worse. "Sir!" A fox monster shouted, entering Toffee's tent, "Calamity's back, but I don't think you're gonna believe this." The three monsters got exit the tent to see Calamity fluttering down from the air with a dead Mewman in one of her three sets of arms. Once Calamity was on the ground, and placed her mother's body onto the ground she returned to her normal self before falling to her knees after her little power trip. "Lieutenant!" Winston shouted, running up to her and checked for injuries. Toffee walked up to her with a face of disappointment. "You went to Mewni didn't you?" "I had to General; they weren't even going to bury her properly!" Calamity shouted at him, "So please, I beg of you, let me give her a proper burial! Let me say a proper goodbye to her!" At this point Calamity was breaking, she hated to break down, especially in front of the General, but this was her mother for pete's sake. Someone who taught her to be okay with who she was despite everyone wanting her to be something else. Toffee had nothing to say to her about the matter, rather he returned to his tent only to come back with a two shovels. "Not here," he stated, "Somewhere where they won't disturb her burial ground."
"Are you even trying to dip down Calamity?" asked General Toffee, jabbing at Calamity emotionally to make her 'dip down' as any other magic welder. He knew as a Mewman with cheek marks Calamity should be able to use magic if she digs deep into herself and awakens that raw energy. Calamity kept her focus, trying to dip for the power her General keeps telling her about, but no matter how hard she tries, she feels as though she'll never be able to reach it. After forty five minutes of trying to dip down Calamity broke her focus and collapsed onto the ground, exhausted from the latest attempt. "How long was that?" she asked through short breaths of air. "Longer than your last attempt," Toffee simply answered, watching her lay herself on the ground and stare up at the sky, contemplating on what to do in order to reach her goal. To the General, this Mewman had always been a strange one, even after she arrived at his camp. She was thrown the harshest training any monster could've gone through, and here she was; now a Lieutenant and his right hand in strategizing. Not to mention she was quite a capable fighter, managed to give him a hard time once or twice during a few friendly sparing sessions. "Maybe," he heard her mutter to herself, "Maybe if I dig into my memories, maybe I could trigger some magic." She looked over at Toffee with eyes that asked for permission. Even though she was almost as high in the ranks as Toffee, she still looked to him for advice, or even asked for permission for certain tasks when she didn't need approval from him. "Do what you believe needs to be done," he commanded, watching her get back on her feet and close her eyes once more. After two minutes, her cheek marks glowed again, as if it was charging up power, only to grow dim again. At this point, Toffee would tell her to stop and that they should head back to camp, but them Toffee noticed her marks growing darker. It was a slow process, but the darker areas of her marks started to expand as if they were cracks on the ground. If that wasn't enough to get the General concerned, Calamity's tears and whimpering were certainly an eye opener; she was torturing herself with her memories from Mewni. "Lieutenant, that's enough," he commanded, but Calamity couldn't seem to stop the pain she recieved, especially since her marks were obviously reacting to her emotions strongly. "Lieutenant Calamity, you did not go through harshs days and nights of training to break at this point. As your General, I command you to stop this." With that, Calamity collapsed to the ground, panting for air as her marks went back to normal. She looked up at the General, who looked concerned for her health. "I-I'm sorry, I was so close that I thought... that if I-" she was rambling; stumbling over her words even, something she hasn't done since they first met. "Calm down Lieutenant. We'll try again tomorrow, without the emotional torment. It's better for you to leave the past in the past," Toffee instructed as he kneeled down to her eye level. Calamity nodded, watching Toffee get back to his original height as she finally regained the strength to get up onto her feet. Once her stability was sure, the two started walking back to camp. Once they were there, a frog like monster walked up to Calamity and Toffee, feeling nervous about the words he's about to say. "Winston, is something wrong?" asked Toffee. "Did something happen when we were away?" Calamity followed after Toffee's question. "We received a report from our spies about the Mewman you both told us to keep an eye on," he informed them, knowing well that they know which Mewman they were talking about, Mercury Stratosphere, "We regret to inform you sirs... but she's dead." Calamity heart stopped when she heard the word 'dead'; her own mother, dead. How? She was still so young. "Cause of death?" she asked. "Put to execution for the reveal of being a Monster Sympathizer. I'm truly sorry Lieutenant," the frog monster commented in a hushed voice, only to receive no response from Calamity. "Thank you Winston, you're dismissed," Toffee commanded, watching the monster walk away and looked down at the Mewman who seems to be processing this new information. "Lieutenant-" "I'm sorry General, but permission to be alone?" she immediately requested. He sighed, "Permission granted." With those words spoken, the General watched as the Mewman walked away to her own sleeping quarters. He knew that she was going to be needing some space after finding out her mother was just killed, so he simply kept his distance and returned to his quarters as well. Little did the General knew, Calamity's marks had grown dark and her skin shifted to a boiling red. This news was the push she needed to go over the edge and dip down.
