I really wanna get back into writing for Disgrace, but first I wanna get back into the writing process in general. I've been thinking about doing some drabbles and one-shots about certain plot points I'm not planning to explore in the main story.

Any suggestions? Perhaps more into Juno's past, like her relationships with Eclipsa, Mina, and Cordial, or her quarrel with Solaria. Or more on Seth and how his quarrel with Lord Afton got him wrapped up in Eclipsa's abdication of the throne. Or Comet's relationship with Lazlo and how they got divorced, or even Lazlo's quarrel with Mina about Moon's well-being.

Some doodles of a scene that takes place after Toffee and Juno get back from the Realm of Magic, only to find out that the Call is still in his head and perhaps won't ever leave.

Fun fact: he used to only hear the Call in his sleep. But after all the magical experiments and electrocution he suffered at the asylum, he started hearing it every waking moment.

Today was a day of doodles for Toffebruary Day 14: Ships

Most of these Valentine's Day sketches are canon in some way to my Disgrace AU; except for Double Trouble, I suppose, but we'll get to that later. (Also, not sure if I've mentioned it on this blog or not, but I headcanon Toffee as bi-romantic demisexual.)

1. Of course I had to draw some ToffeexJuno in their Pie Island outfits.

2. And of course I had to draw some teen puppy love Eclipsafee, complete with the feathered brooch he made for her (it was supposed to be earrings, but he realized too late that her ears weren't pierced).

3. I guess my new What-If ship is Toffee x Double Trouble from She Ra? Yeah yeah, I know it's probably lame to ship something just cos they're both lizards, but I think their personalities would mix well together. Plus, I've had in mind for awhile that Toffee would have a brief fling with one of Ludo's soldiers who happens to be non-binary, and until I design that character I'm just gonna put Double Trouble in their place.

4. And, finally, my WIP design for Moon's father Lazlo Marmalade. No, he's not from Mewni. Yes, he's basically a satyr. And, yeah, Toffee has met and had a crush on him in his adventures (Toffee's got a thing for tall people). But Toffee didn't realize he was Moon's father for many many years.

Or, here in the kitchen-"

"Is there a point where this stops being fun?"

But then she smiled, and that's what I'm after. My wife's joyful eyes, my baby girl's laughter.

So: happy to listen. Happy to play. Happily watching her drift away.

So come the weeks where her mind goes on racing, a thousand games at a time.

Then come the weeks where she never leaves bed, and watches the days go by.

And so I wonder, night after night: Does she need my help? Am I doing this right?

Still...happy to play. And happy to stay. Happily watching her drift away.

You keep on turning pages, while the mad race and stare, and the sane mock and glare about you.

And still it takes you ages to see that she's not there...

She's not fully there...

Her mind's not fully there...

It's almost racing on without you.

She finally snapped the day they came, and told us Eclipsa's gone

Without a successor, and won't accept "No" when they say our child's the one...

They...

Need...

Isn't that lovely? Isn't that cool? And isn't that cruel? And aren't I a fool

To have happily failed her

As she went insane

Happily watching her

Drift

Away

Fun fact: he has heard the call of the Realm of Magic his whole life, but it used to only be when he was asleep. The worst he ever suffered was constant sleepwalking.

But all the magical experiments and electrocution he suffered at the asylum changed that, to the point where he hears the call every waking moment.

This scene in particular is when Juno and Toffee have come back from the Realm of Magic after Juno almost lost her mind, only to realize the call hasn't left Toffee's head. And perhaps never will.
