wait aren’t cats predators?

fact that a lot of people apparently don’t know: house cats are both predators and prey animals. that’s why they’re so easily startled and like to hang out in high places, like shelves and on top of closets - they’re hardwired to always be aware of their surroundings in case a larger predator targets them.

foxes, large birds of prey, and snakes are all the natural predators of cats in the wild.
