Is anyone else excited to see next week’s episode? The Celebi one? Oh this weekend as well (totally not for Koharu).
The episode premise seems interesting to me, as early screencaps of the episode from some magazine show that Tokio and Gou bonded and Gou possibly considered Tokio a friend during his trip to Johto with parents as a kid. I’m suspecting Celebi pulled Sam Oaks on Gou and thus is why Tokio never showed up to Gou and Tokio’s meeting place, BUT, I saw a theory of how Gou would go back in time and learn why he never showed up. Part of me believes the former theory more thou, as I wouldn’t mind for that to be the plot. Don’t think Gou meeting his younger self by accident would do any good lol
Either way, I think the episode will do well on Gou’s character, and maybe, just maybe, dwell further on the lines “I don’t need to get friends“ and “So you’re one of those guys“. Some people might find them minor lines, but the Cubone episode made it seem Gou DOES have issues with having trust in friends in the past. Koharu and Satoshi being only ones he knows he can rely on atm. I’ve noticed that Koharu is hanging out with Satoshi and Gou a bit more now, and I like that progression on her. More with Gou, but still!
Since next ep is located in Johto, I don’t think Koharu’s gonna be in the episode, but none the less, I think it’ll help me appreciate Gou’s character more, if done right. We’ll see!
Oh and new opening starts on that episode as well so there’s that to be excited about too lol
Oh, side note, as I saw some people couple weeks back say this is Koharu’s introduction to Rocket Gang: No, it’s not! Koharu met them on NS020.
