General English Courses for Adults
NSTS English Language Courses for adults are designed to improve everyday use of English in a social or work setting. Over a period of weeks, you will develop greater skills and confidence in English grammar, vocabulary and fluency. All courses incorporate formal classroom conversation and interactive lessons involving role play, and working in pairs and groups with learners having the option of augmenting their core course with top-ups or individual tutoring.
Learners also have access to a free weekly Focus Workshop where they can refine their pronunciation and grammar skills through group work, set tasks and exercises, and selfstudy. The workshop’s focus alternates each week, between either pronunciation or remedial grammar. Registration is required, and participation is open to all levels.
As an added bonus, and outside of formal class time, all students have access to an extensive social programme developed and organised by NSTS staff, and tailored to each course to further build on what is learnt in class. Practise your English while taking in Malta’s vibrant lifestyle and rich culture, from the very contemporary to prehistory dating back some 7000 years.
Cultural Events @ NSTS English Language School
NSTS offers a great selection of cultural activities for you to enjoy after your lessons at NSTS English Language School.Performances and concerts of all genres of music are on almost every week-end. In summer, theaters go open-air, streets are amply decorated with festoons and fairy lights. You will find various festivals, fireworks events, beach parties, boat cruises, wining and dining to fill your social evenings.
Your sightseeing daytime encounters take you to the mysterious, narrow streets of the Arabic-Medieval City of Mdina. There you will unearth curiosities, take in breath-taking views of Malta, learn all about the architecture and visit a 150 year old band club to meet bandsmen, enthusiastic feast volunteers and discover traditional village life. An ‘Mdina Encounters’ by night is another enthralling experience.
Majestic auberges, an impressive baroque Cathedral, decorated churches, Europe’s second oldest theatre, stately homes, attractive public gardens and kilometres of fortifications make up two other encounters. One takes you to Valletta’s outstanding riches and architectural beauty, where you will have time to unwind at a street cafe, while on the other you skirt the fortifications, climb over the battlements, walk along their shores and take in the stunning panorama of the two flanking harbours that were central to Europe’s fate in glorious times.
The ‘Three Cities by Night’ is another enchanting discovery of medieval life by the Grand Harbour as you intently listen to the intricacies of the inhabitants of Vittoriosa (Birgu), Cospicua (Bormla) and Senglea (Isla) and discover the fascinating Collachio, the first auberges of the Knights, Fort St. Angelo and more.
Four diverse ‘Walking Encounters’ follow nature: Malta’s flora and fauna, the natural habitats of migratory birds, indigenous plants and country life with its garigue and rough paths. You trek along the south-west coast from Buskett Gardens to Dingli Cliffs, admire archaeological sites and the diversity of country and sea views; from Cirkewwa to Mellieha you will climb high ridges, pass over dramatic cliff edges and sandy beaches; the historic south east villages from Qrendi to the spectacular coast at the Blue Grotto, from Marsascala to the fishing village of Marsaxlokk.
The Customer Relations team keep creating different opportunities to satisfy your individual needs while they remain mindful of the English speaking value of these international Encounters.
