Okay. I have made the thing. It only took me two extra days (four extra months?) to manage it. It is barely more than a paragraph long. It is basically the same one I had to come up with last year. I already feel anxious about emailing it to people. What if they secretly hate me, these people who have never heard of me? What if they’re horribly mean, in the way that people LITERALLY NEVER ARE in response to these kinds of inquiries? What if they materialize in my dreams, look at me with their laser eyes, and I explode into a cloud of mildly-irradiated particles? How am I going to do this job next year if that happ- waaaait, I’m not doing this job next year. I’m spending next year SLEEPING AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE and reading all the SF & F books I haven’t had time to get to over the last few years. HA! ... Anyway. Wish me and my RSD luck!
...Huh. I could just...do that? If I wanted to? Huh...
....wasn’t this an episode of Doctor Who?
Does anyone out there know custom formatting for Google Sheets well enough to tell me how I can make a specific cell on sheet two turn a different background color if a specific cell on sheet one has words in it? and stepping it up a notch, how to make that specific cell on sheet two turn that color if *any one of three or four* specific cells on sheet one has words in it? Basically: If Responses!K2 says “not now”, then this cell in another sheet turns grey. If Responses!K2, L2, or O2, says “not now”, then this cell in another sheet turns grey. Anyone? Or at least, can anyone throw me a link or two that explains how to do this? The ones I’ve found so far all seem to involve adding things together, and most are Excel specific and I don’t know how to find all the same functionalities (if they exist) in Sheets.
I’ve got all this space on Saturday night. I wonder if I can get people to fight robots in it? ....okay, I meant, like, bring little robots and have sumo robot wrestling but if people want to bring a robot to personally battle it in front of an audience I’d be okay with that, too.
Okay, so, I’ve got approximately 50 feet to cover on either wall, an while I have access to 118″ wide muslin at practically wholesale cost if I commit to buying a 15-yard bolt, I’ve hit the snag where the result would need to be certified flame retardant. Which is a level of complication (and probably cost) that I don’t think I’m ready to deal with. So I’m changing tact and now looking at something like https://www.amazon.com/DuaFire-Projector-Ripples-Lighting-Wedding/dp/B074PQZH5Z/ which it might cost *less* to get enough to cover the same area as the fabric would, but also requires next to no fabrication work. Unless I want to make nifty covers for them. (Which would *still* be less work.) @cyborgcaitlin thoughts? I know this isn’t the kind of lighting you were talking about you were talking about, but if we’re going for an entirely different look / ambience altogether....?
@signoraviolettavalery @jabberwockypie and anybody else playing along at home... I need a proper panel title / description suggestion for something along the lines of, “The Message You Didn’t Mean To Send: How To Avoid Fucking Up When Telling Stories About Characters With Mental Health Issues.” Any suggestions?
