Week 12: Baby kicking and waving at us!

What an exciting visit we had! For our nuchal screening, everything on the sono looked great. During the whole screening baby was kicking, moving and waving at us! Its still way too small for me to feel anything but it was amazing to be able to see. It really makes the pregnancy seem real now even though we had heard the heart beat previously. Seeing the baby move was even a bigger rush. 

What was even more amazing was when our OB zoomed closer in for us to actually see the heart move and beat. At this stage the baby is still translucent so it is possible to see the heart. Wow! Beyond awesome. I shouldn't say but I saw Brian tear up a bit from joy. Melts my heart…he is going to be an awesome dad! <3

I WANT TO KNOW WHAT SEX I AM HAVING NOOOOWW!!! It's totally a boy though. Jus' sayin'!

I love my doctor...

but fuck she is a dead shit sometimes. Firstly, she forgot to request HCG levels with my first lot of bloods. Also, since day dot, after my pregnancy was confirmed, I have been requesting a referral for my hospital and every time she has said it was too early. With Byron, I didn't get in to see the hospital until I was almost 20 weeks because of a delayed referral- I didn't want it to happen again this time.

I called the hospital today and asked if there was anyway I could book in without a referral. She told me I could register online and have an appt. arranged from that but would still need the referral from a doctor because they get more funding that way (or something). So, i've done that. I should hear soon when I will have my first midwife appt. I am not even bothering with shared care this time as my GP is lame. I'm meant to have my first appt between 12-14 weeks so hopefully because I have been pro-active that will actually happen this time! I also need to get a referral for my nuchal bloods. I had to practically beg her for the scan referral yesterday. I KNOW it needs to be done between 11-13 weeks and, because it's a specialist scan, places book out heaps in advance. I wanted to be sure I booked in at the right time.

So, next weekend I will go back for my hospital and blood work referrals and then i'll be done with her until I have to go back for newborn and 6 week checks.
