Also, I feel like I always need to apologise for my absence. 😭 Methodology is kicking my 🍑 😓 This unit about teaching vocabulary is quite hard, there's lots of stuff to take into consideration... And it's not even the longest one!!! I dread to think how hard it's gonna be when I get to teaching phonology 😨
How is your last year of Uni? (If I'm remembering correctly? I remember you saying this was gonna be a super hard time because you have actual teaching practice?

listen methodology is the hardest part of teaching. there are so many ways to teach the same thing and they all say similiar things to one another that it become confusing. and then when teaching a new language it can really rely heavily on the critial point and how a language is articulated differently than the native language and *more details and babbling*
vocab teaching is hard at any level. chosing the words and then having to figure out how to teach the meaning and create meaning? nightmare, but remember our brains retain stuff that we learn in fun contexts
phonology is my favorite! i'm working with kindergarteners this semester and all of the next and let me tell you i am thrilled! seeing them learn their letters and sounds and start sounding out words 🥹

i get so many hugs when i go in and the kiddos all crowd me like "i met you before" "i remember you" "are you leaving with us?" "can you tie my show" *whilst lifting their leg for me to tie it* i am officially a professional shoe tier
my mentor teacher is honestly really interesting. she only has one rule and one expectation for the entire class and has free seating. she's been teaching for 19 years and the fact that she stays up to dae on current and new research and methods for education is just wonderful
she literally told me on my second visit that it was okay to say fuck you to admin, the district, and state reps because they aren't the ones in the classroom. that she will do what she has to do for her kids
