What are your top 10 Harry Potter characters ?
Sweet of you to ask, but I no longer have a favourite Harry Potter anything because of the actions of the author.

Now that you mentioned Merope, she is basically the reason why many things turned up what we know today !
She is the turning point of everything throughout the series.
I rather like her as this corrupted but not intrinsically evil mother figure, since the idea of a mother's love is so fundamental to the conception of the books and narratively carries the plot. Usually, especially in children's media, you'd find a "good" mother and an "evil" (step) mother, but Merope isn't bad per se, she's just a victim of her circumstances. She's not in a position to understand or accept that drugging Riddle with a love potion is wrong. She's a true innocent but at the same time she's repulsive to many readers.
I think that people who read her character, and Tom Jr, as: "Voldemort is evil because he wasn't the product of love!!" have a simplistic perception of their characters. Tom Jr's not "just" the product of a rape (or "false love"), he's the product of generational inbreeding and, the subtext heavily implies, incest. He's the product of a deranged woman's desperate escape attempt from that environment, and her delusions of love. Merope obsessing about Riddle, and fleeing her family with the complete opposite of what she was taught she should desire (a Muggle man, a physically good looking and healthy man), feels almost like some sort of animal instinct for survival.
Historical AU + Hinny
I'm going to add in #73 Stranded Due to Inclement Weather to make it a mash up, because that feels very period romance.
It was just a favor. Nothing more. To chaperone his oldest friend's sister to London and escort her through the social season. But Ginny Weasley was hardly the girl running through wildflowers of their childhood. And after a wheel breaks on the coach, and they are stuck for several days in a derelict country inn, Harry is having a hard time discerning what is appropriate for a lady's escort, and what is altogether not.

Do you remember when Harry had those 🔞 dreams about Ginny? do you think Ginny had those dreams too? and if she did when do you think she had?
I think in her fifth year is right when the dreams go from sweet and innocent to a little more steamy... and evidently when Harry pops up in them she ignores because she's very much over him.
She dates Dean and she doesn't have those dreams about Dean and she's happy about that because that means everything is just normal. no dreams about anyone. splendid.
but then she breaks up with Dean and she's feeling a little lonely and oh no... there's Harry again. The dreams always start sweet enough. Harry is comforting her about her break up but then it turns into something else entirely. at this point she's been pretending her feelings for Harry no longer exist that she ignores the dreams completely. she isn't mortified by them, she just pretend they didn't happen
then he kisses her and everything all makes sense at once. she's not over him at all, she had just grown used to the dull ache whenever she looked at him but now that was gone and changed for a whole bunch of different wonderful feelings.
Now he's in her dreams again and she doesn't mind because he's right there for her.
when they break up, she doesn't dream about him that way for a really long time. there's a war to keep her mind occupied and it's all she can think about. the next time she has a steamy dream about Harry, she's in his arms, the war is over and he kisses the nape of her neck as she wakes up. she entangles her finger with his and he asks if she was having a nightmare because she was making noises and she says no it was a different kind of dream and he goes "What a coincidence, I think I had that dream too. Or was that just last night?"
NSFW ask for Jily like who's more experimental, better in oral activities, who's dominant, possessive, sensative etc.
What's your thoughts?
Hey!
Ooooo! Okay, this is a tough one for me because these are some of the very traits I love changing about them from story to story! Bc there are some personality traits I won’t touch, but I’d say James was more sensitive in WYSP, but then Lily was more in WAYDTM and EW, and Lily was more dominant in WYSP but James was waaaaay more in EW.
Buuuuut, I have to say that WAYDTM is my version of canon, so I’ll go with my choices there.
So I’d say James started as more experimental and better at activities… but once Lily started feeling comfortable and really let herself experience that unconditional love that James was providing, she felt safe enough to be vulnerable back and then the student became the master 😉 (And James couldn’t have been happier about that fact 😌) In the other direction, having that steady relationship would allow James to really lean into his more sensitive side with her, since he no longer has anything to prove. I see them as taking turns to play dominant, and James would love it when Lily was possessive so she’d play it up for him 😈
What do you think? 🤔
Why Ginny fell in love with Harry? His personality and morality he's funny, humble, determined, selfless, powerful, generous, brave, strong, fearless, independent, smart, passionate and dedicated to his friends and love ones and extraordinary amazing person.
She had an crush on the boy who lived but fell in love with Harry Potter himself.
Many say she's perfect for Harry ( which is true) but people forget how perfect Harry is for Ginny.
What's your thoughts on this?
I 100% agree!
I love that Ginny dated other people before Harry and it was known that a lot of people were interested in her, because it showed that it wasn't just a continuation of her childhood infatuation/crush. She grew out of that and became a true friend of Harry's, then fell in love with the real him, not the boy who lived.
I also love that Harry made the first move (another thing the movies ruined with them) and that he was the one that we saw crushing on her and being jealous. It helped show how their relationship evolved and that it wasn't her childhood crush continuing and chasing after him.
I think Ginny and Harry are extremely compatible and perfect for each other.
And as a fun addition, here is my favorite HP artist for Hinny (and Jily too). If you haven't checked her out you should! She does comics of their future life and they give me all the feels!

What do you think about Harry as an character, person and protagonist? He's my favorite character and an inspiration for me. What you see in him? Just curious
Hi! I absolutely adore Harry! To me, he’s one of two heroes that I actually find heroic and inspiring. When people talk about superheroes, I never understand what the hype is - most superheroes are so hollow and intangible. But Harry taught me what a hero is, and why people love them.
Harry is a genuinely good character. He’s flawed, likable, easy to understand, and, yes, absurdly good and brave, but in a way that feels genuine and natural. You understand Harry’s not just a ‘hero’, but, first of all, a person - one who’s so lovable and moving. He’s also a genuinely interesting character, which is quite rare for a hero in a children’s book.
I only have lovely things to say about Harry. Sadly, I read the books such a long time ago that I can’t remember anything in detail. But I gathered these two posts (x x) which, hopefully, are a bit enlightening!
Thanks for the ask! I’m glad you love Harry too. A lot of fans seem to think he’s annoying or boring, but that couldn’t be further from the truth imo.
