This is a small fic to Introduce Nuntius. Will write more indepth fics later I just wanted everyone to meet him!
The day was coming to a close. Elijah had done all he could to clean up Klaus's mess of chaos and murder and he was, exhausted. He finally made it to his bedroom and took off his clothes. They got put away neatly ready for dry cleaning later in the week. He went into his bathroom and started a hot shower.
As he stood there waiting for the water to be ready, something hit his head like freight train and he dropped to the floor. He hadn't had a headache in so long he forgot how they felt. It pounded louder and louder till he was curled into a ball yelling Klaus's name.
He groaned and forced himself to his knees wincing. Another attack shocked his system and his hands fell to the floor, bracing himself. He tried to move, to get into the shower hoping the water would ease the tension. He'd just managed to get to his feet when all of a sudden the pain stopped. He leaned against the sink counter breathing heavily. He then heard the sound of footsteps all around him and a chair sliding against a floor.
He looked around the room confused and hurried to his bedroom. There was no one there. "What?" He asked in a whisper.
The next sound that he heard was a voice.
"That took far too long and far too much effort. You going to stand there naked or are you actually going to get into the shower?"
The voice, sounded, like his, but deeper, and more declarative.
"Where are you!?" Elijah demanded grabbing a pair of loose fitting sweatpants.
"Somewhere you don't go often enough," the voice snapped back. Elijah threw on the pants and a T-shirt and started to run out of the room.
"You left the shower running."
Elijah huffed and darted back to the bathroom. He could feel this, presence, smirking at him.
Once the shower was off Elijah made a mad dash about the house trying to find this stranger, and the voice sighed heavily, annoyed.
Elijah stopped. "Tell me who, and where you are!"
"Maybe have some blood? Breathe. We'll get to all that."
Elijah growled and he heard a growl follow his but it was far more intimidating. It made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. He debated asking more questions but this voice wasn't exactly the friendliest he'd ever heard and it wasn't really answering him anyway. He went to the blood stash and pulled out a blood pack then went to the dining table to fill a glass with blood.
The front gate opened and Klaus came walking in. He stopped, seeing Elijah under dressed and tilted his head, more curious then anything.
"What happened to you?" He asked approaching the table.
Elijah tried not to be aggressive in his response.
"I got, a headache…." Klaus was the last person on the whole of earth that Elijah was about to tell that he was hearing voices but if this was some witch or other enemy he would have t-
"I'm in your head, my name is Nuntius"
Elijah froze mid sip and put the glass down.
Klaus rose an eyebrow at his older brother. He was in sweats and t-shirt, drinking blood and he looked like he'd just seen a ghost.
"Elijah," he snapped, not out of impatience per-se but to get Elijah out of whatever trance he'd just fallen into.
"I……there's a voice…..inside my head" Elijah's eyes went to Klaus's then back to the table. He was reeling with thoughts now. What was Klaus gonna do? Dagger him for going mad??
Klaus reared back. Their journey thus far had done many things to them and he knew about the red door. Maybe it broke? Maybe this was something Esther had done when Elijah was kidnapped?
"Did the red door break?" Klaus asked as gentle as he could manage.
"Enough for me to get out," Nuntius replied
Elijah's eyes went up listening.
"His name is Nuntius and he says it was broken enough for him to get out….."
Klaus blinked at Elijah "Latin? Really?" He said, vaguely annoyed. He remembered Elijah trying to teach it to him and how dull and pointless it was especially considering how little of it was still around in the world.
"That's your concern?" Elijah asked surprised having not expected Klaus to focus on that first.
Klaus shrugged a shoulder "Seems a tad dramatic to me. What's this voice saying?"
"I'm going to strangle you," Nuntius replied
Elijah reared back and didn't respond.
"'Lijah!" This time Klaus's snap was impatient.
"He…..he's not exactly the kindest sort and he doesn't answer me he only told me his name till after you started asking questions."
"Helpful," Klaus replied sarcastically. "Mother must have done something when you were kidnapped then. Put that voice in your head. We need to get it out"
"I've been here long before you were kidnapped. Your mother put me here ages ago and now she's damaged her own spells."
Elijah blinked, confused.
"He said he's been here for longer than that; Mother put him there ages ago…."
"Why are you just hearing him now then?"
"He says Mother broke her own spells…."
"That doesn't make any sense."
Elijah shook his head "No it doesn't and if he'd just answer me-"
"If you'd stop interrogating me."
Elijah huffed and crossed his arms.
"He says im interrogating him."
"Damn right we are" Klaus stormed up to Elijah and stared him in the eyes. Elijah took a step back instinctively. "You're going to tell us who you are, where, you came from and what your doing here."
"No," was all Nuntius responded.
Elijah took a deep breath and exhaled. "He said no…."
Klaus growled and glared at Elijah "Fine. Then were going to kill you."
Elijah swallowed hard. Nuntius wasn't backing down……"He said good luck…."
Klaus snarled and stormed away from Elijah.
"NIKLAUS!" the call was more desperate then Elijah had intended and he followed Klaus to the gate. "What are you going to do?"
"I'm going to find a witch to get that, thing, out of your head that damned red doors driven you mad."
Elijah's heart raced and he grabbed Klaus's arm before he could leave again.
Klaus stopped and groaned then looked at Elijah. Studying his eyes and face he saw the fear and the desperation. He stepped back closer to Elijah. "What?" He said measured
