Hi there! I've been doing a lot of research and have decided this is the perfect time to adopt a few lamias companions.

While it is perhaps an unusual combination, I would love if both a Chain and a King would be willing to allow me to give them a home.

*Well, if you're looking for a pair of loyal lamia companions (and judging by your selection, you are), then you've come to the right place. The Lamia (and Felid) Bittybones adoption center is just brimming Chains and Kings up for adoption... a fact which you haven't gotten an opportunity to see yet because you haven't even made it inside when you find the perfect Chain. Kind of.

*The Chain could feel it in his bones. Today was going to be the day. His SOUL bond was out there in the wide world... and getting closer! He spent the entire day staring out the window, following the tenuous sensation of your SOUL, and when he finally sees you, he can't control himself. He leaps forward... right into the window glass. BONK!

*You rush inside, your SOUL doing flips as you lean down to check on the poor Chain. When you reach out to check his poor bruised skull, you can feel the comforting, warm sensation of the SOUL bond settling into place. You're sure the Chain would feel it too if he hadn't just bonked himself unconscious. By now other lamias and Vex herself have arrived on the scene to help. Normally the Nurse Papythons would be tending to the Chain, but a King slithers forward, ready to be a hero. He's been practicing healing magic!

*Unfortunately, he trips mid-slither over a Pygmy zooming past and faceplants on the floor next to the Chain. Both lamias are out cold, and you sit there between them feeling a little lost and bewildered. You wanted a Chain and a King... and here they are. Kind of. Vex reassures you that by the time you've filled out the forms for their adoptions, Nurse Papythons will have healed the two overly enthusiastic lamias.

I've come back again!But oh?Who's this in the infirmary,resting in a bed in the darkest corner of the room?A blind Krait? Ilichtda accompanies me,to help me give the boi a new home with us,if he'd like it ❤ we'd love to care for him ❤

*Edgar speaks with the Nurse Papythons in low tones. A young lamia is curled up in a nest in a dark corner, avoiding the bright lights of the exam table and looking dejected. Ever since he hatched, this Krait has had low magic levels and poor eyesight. Despite magic infusion treatments, the vision loss has worsened, and the Krait is now blind. Instead of the usual white eyelights, his sockets are dark with a misty whiteness swirling in them. After examining him, the Nurse Papythons confirm that he is blind. 

*Vex escorts you into the Infirmary along with Ilichtda, waiting in the doorway to see what happens. When Ilichtda approaches the young Krait, the banded lamia recognizes his voice and perks up. The Krait reaches out, touching the familiar planes of the other Gaster lamia’s face. While the Krait is reassured by Ilichtda, Edgar thanks you for offering this Krait a good home. He knew your Krait sanctuary would be the best place for this youngster.

*You spend some time with the Krait, petting him and letting him get used to your voice and scent. Once he feels comfortable with you, you explain the Krait sanctuary to him. He listens attentively. He likes the idea of the safe haven for Kraits with special needs. He won’t feel out of place with others like him, and he will be able to visit with Ilichtda more often. The decision is made. Vex, Edgar, and the Nurse papythons hug and smooch the little Krait goodbye, and Ilichtda slithers alongside you as you carry the youngster away to his new home.

Ilichtda is back at it again,coming to love up on all the baby bitties and grown ones!!!!His mate didn't come,as he decided to stay at their home,safe and sound with Skele watching over his beloved. He wanted to check in,even though he only hasn't visited in a week,since he wanted to make sure everyone is safe and happy,especially those within the infirmary ❤❤

*Ilichtda is pleased to discover that the Infirmary only has one patient, a lamia with some scrapes from a tree branch that fell in a storm. The lamia, a sweet Papython, is doing well and recovering quickly. He is considering joining the Nurse Papythons to pursue a life of healing and blanket knitting (when there aren’t any patients).

*Edgar welcomes Ilichtda into the nursery to see the newest arrivals: a clutch of Kraits and a clutch of FireRings that are just three days old! Ilichtda marvels over the tiny new hatchlings as the rest of the little ones, hatchlings, toddlers, and teenagers alike, clamber for his attention and climb all over him.

*The rest of the lamia bittybones in the shop stop by to chat and inquire about Ilichtda and his mate. Even a Whispuffs drift over to orbit Ilichtda on his visit. The big Gaster lamia is always warmly welcomed on his visits.

I think a full sized Papython and a full sized King would be great additions to the family! I will come by with Chance to meet them. He is a bit nervous, but hopefully he will open up to his new friends. And if there is someone that need special care, or just really needs a home I could consider them too.

*You reassure Chance as you step through the doors of the Lamia Bittybones Adoption Center. If he gets uncomfortable, you tell him, then you’ll leave and come back a different time. You also make sure he knows that no new bitties will be adopted unless he is ok with it. By the time you get to the front desk, Chance is still anxious (but he’s a Cherry so that’s normal), but determined to help choose his future companions (and brothers).

*You help Cherry settle into a soft pile of pillows that Vex has placed on the desk, but you’ve barely had a chance to tell Vex what type of lamias you’re looking for when one of the Nurse Papythons rushes out of the Infirmary. The full-sized Papython slithers to a stop in front of Chance and smiles at him warmly. You recognize him as one of the Papythons who helped Chance after the attack. Apparently, this Nurse Papython really missed Chance after you took him home. Chance actually seems happy to see him.

*You want to tell Chance not to get his hopes up. You know Vex doesn’t usually adopt out the Nurse Papythons, but Vex is holding out an adoption form with a little smile on her face. “He asked me if he could join your family as soon as we got your matchup,” Vex tells you. “He just waiting for your approval.” You look at Chance. Chance nods. You sign the paper. One down! Vex goes to tell the full-sized Kings that they may begin their displays.

*Full sized Kings slither forward, one at a time, making sure not to overwhelm Chance. You notice that they are keeping themselves in a lowered position and flaring their hoods very slowly. They bow to you, then approach Chance for his scrutiny. Chance is unsure at first, and you worry that the task may be a bit too much for him, when suddenly he perks up. A King has caught his attention. You’re not sure what he sees in this King that he didn’t see in the others, but you find the full-sized lamia to be charming and polite. He will definitely make a good addition to the household.

*You turn to Vex to ask for the King’s adoption papers, and when you turn back to Chance, you see that a third lamia is sitting next to him... and Chance is having a quiet little conversation with that lamia. When the lamia sees you watching, he blushes and half hides behind Chance (quite a feat considering that the miniature Honey Bo is bigger than the Cherry). “I’m surprised,” you hear Vex whisper behind you. “That Honey Bo never socializes with any potential adopters.” You watch as Chance carefully pats the Honey Bo, comforting him. The Honey Bo leans on Chance and visibly relaxes.

*You ask the Honey Bo if he’d like to join your family. He nods shyly. You ask Chance if he’s alright with Honey Bo being adopted too. Chance nods more confidently than he has for anything in the entire time you’ve known him. You sign the additional paperwork, looking over your three new bitties with a smile. You couldn’t have asked for a better trio.

I only need a Krait friend to finish my collection of Vex sneks, so I was wondering if I could adopt someone particularly special, if you don't mind?

*I know you put in an application to adopt the paralyzed Pygmy and his Krait friend, but I knew that you were also looking for a very special Krait. I had a Krait in the nursery who is now old enough to be adopted that I think would be a good match for your home. Edgar, the Nurse Papythons, and I have been working with him, but I feel that he would happier getting his therapy in a home environment with a family of his own.

*Vex holds out a young Krait wrapped in a blanket. When you move the blanket aside, you see that he is wearing a brace along his tail and that his spine has a distinct curve to it. “Scoliosis,” explains Vex in response to your unasked question. “We’ve been having custom braces made for him in an attempt to prevent the condition from worsening as he grew up. It still progressed, but now that he has reached his adult size, the brace should prevent further progression.”

*The Krait moves a bit awkwardly, shifting his position so that he can nuzzle your hand. You’re already falling in love with him. You scritch his scales where you know the brace must be making him itchy, and he closes his sockets in bliss. “When you bring him in for check-ups, we will check his brace and fit him for new ones as needed. He has to be monitored when he swims because his movements are limited, and he needs physically therapy to ensure that he still maintains some movement and flexibility. I trust you to take care of him.”

*The Krait must agree because he’s purring happily in your arms, and you know that there is no way you could leave the shop without adopting him now. He may need a little more care than other bitties, but you don’t mind one little bit. You doubt that your bitty family will protest either. In fact, this little guy is likely to get spoiled rotten from this very moment on. You’ll personally make sure of that.

Vex! Thank you so much for letting me spend some time in the store with the lamias, it may seem silly, but to imagine being looked after is quite cherished. I would also like to know how a coral gets away with a cherry coral? Do they avoid the cherry or act normally and will a cherry go away from its fellow corals or actively mingle with them?

*The lamias, Edgar, the skelepups, and me are always here if you need some encouragement. Even something small like imagining a bunch of snuggly skeleton snakes taking care of you can help with a rough day or situation, and I do not mind at all trying to make someone feel better.

*Cherry Corals tend to separate themselves from the other lamias in the shop because of their anxiety. They begin to doubt that even the friendly lamias really like them. Just like people, when they get depressed and lonely, they tend to avoid social situations even more. Why bother when nothing good ever happens? Vex and the Nurse Papythons always go out of their way to make sure each Cherry Coral receives personal attention and love.

*Regular Corals are different. They always manage to find themselves in situations where they will receive attention. They aren’t afraid to go out and find a group of other lamias to convenient be near to for company. A Cherry Coral waits for attention to come his way because he’s afraid that asking for it will make him seem clingy and desperate. A regular Coral goes where there is a attention to be had and puts himself right in the middle of it.

*When it comes to being around Cherry Corals, a Coral will not avoid a Cherry Coral, but a Cherry Coral may avoid a regular Coral. A Cherry Coral would be nervous that a Coral may become upset at having to share attention with him. While a regular Coral may want all of the attention, he feels compassion for a Cherry Coral and won’t bully him or try to steer attention away from him. He will want to help the Cherry Coral become more like his former Coral self.

Oh gosh... I really need your help... I was driving slowly in the neighborhood near the shop, and I... I guess I must have hit this guy... *holds up a Papython, who looks a little scratched and bruised up and like he is Having a Bad Day, but otherwise intact* I just couldn’t see him, he’s shorter than the front of the car! Please make sure he’s okay!

*Vex rushes over and and leads you to the Infirmary where a team of Nurse Papythons is waiting. The Nurse Papythons take the injured Papython and place him gently on the examination table. Soon, they are glowing with healing magic, targeting the areas where he is injured.

*Meanwhile, Vex comforts you. “This happens sometimes. The smaller lamias are very difficult to see if they cross the street. As much as we try to warn them and monitor the area, it still occasionally happens. Fortunately, he doesn’t seem to be badly injured, and you did the right thing by bringing him here,” she tells you. One small Nurse Papython comes over and pats your foot with a small hand.

*It only takes a few moments for the Nurse Papythons to work on the injured Papython. They are specially trained to focus their natural healing magic and target specific injuries to avoid exhausting themselves. The healing usually exhausts the injured bitty however, and you notice that the Papython you hit is a bit wobbly. Vex carefully lifts him, and he nuzzles her hands.

* “I think he’ll be alright. He will need to rest. Are you leaving him in our care, or would you like to take him home with you now that his injuries have been cared for?” The Papython peers over Vex’s hand at you, giving you a drowsy smile. He doesn’t even appear to be upset by the accident. He must know that you didn’t mean to hurt him.

I... are you serious? I HIT HIM with my car! Why would he even want to be adopted after that! I’m glad he knows it wasn’t intentional, but I feel so guilty about it, and to be honest I wasn’t planning on acquiring a housemate when this happened... it’s all really sudden. Could I, maybe, talk to him some instead of deciding right away?

*I’m sure he wouldn’t mind talking to you or spending time with you, but I simply asked because he needs to sleep after his healing. I wanted to know if we should be preparing a nest here for him.

*I also understand that you feel extremely guilty for hitting him, but Papythons have a very unique personality. He knows you didn’t hit him intentionally. You brought him here to get help, so you obviously didn’t wish him any harm. Accidents happen. Sometimes those accidents involve people getting hurt, but that doesn’t make you a bad person. You didn’t try to hit him. You didn’t leave him to suffer or dust. In his eyes you as a person are totally separate from what happened.

*Vex carries the Papython to a nest under a heat lamp in the infirmary. He shuffles around in the blankets for a bit then curls up and falls asleep.

*He will be fine, and whenever you feel comfortable, please do feel free to stop by and visit him. If you need to sit for a bit longer and collect yourself, that’s ok too. The Nurse Papythons can bring you something to drink and a snack if you want one.
