i wonder if Jack actually needs his staff or if it’s more like a crutch. he seemed 2 believe his power was in it but he fixed it w/ his own power. maybe as he gets more believers thus stronger Jack will depend less on the staff. idk just a thought :)

That's actually a question we never really get the answer to. It's addressed, I think in the app, where the staff was called a conduit, rather than the source of his power.

I personally write him as being able to do minor things--conjure snowflakes, frost shapes, and summon snowballs--without his staff. For the more major things, he still needs to use it.

However, I think that with some practice and the help of having some believers, Jack wouldn't need it at all.
