So Indie tagged me in this thing and I did it but then my computer crashed so here I go again:
Rule* 1: Post the rules. Rule 2: Answer all of the questions the tagger has asked, and then make 11 new ones. Rule 3: Tag 11 people and link them to your post. Rule 4: Let them know you’ve tagged them.
If you could be a cat or a dog, what breed would you want to be? Other species are also welcome answers.
If I were a cat I'd be a Maine Coon Cat, let's be real. Mostly because 1. I am The Maine and 2. When Anna was playing Bread Kittens she made a cat team of Meaghan, herself and myself and I was the Maine Coon Tank which is Rad as Fuck
Do you believe in the power of dream catchers? If not, have you tried cleaning yours?
Nnnnno? I'm not even really sure what they do, plus, I don't own one to clean.
What are you favorite smells? How about least favorite?
I'm usually just happy to smell anything really, though I quite enjoy new mulch, freshly cut wood, pine needles and lilacs. Not a big fan of rotting fish sludge though.
What are your hobbies and how did you discover them?
Uhhh I've been drawing forever but I only just recently picked it up again. Same with comic writing.
Singing I was encouraged to do as a kid, haven't done much with it lately though.
Video games were one part getting a game boy in third grade and one part spending a summer with a friend who had an N64.
Writing uuuuh probably around 8th grade when I decided I was going to write a novel before I turned 13. I still have it somewhere, I think.
RolePlay I only started in the tail end of my sophomore year when a couple folks hit me up after reading my Tron fanfiction. I played Castor with both of them and one kindly showed me how to RP and I sort of let the other slide into the abyss because they kept godmodding my character since I wasn't progressing the romance fast enough. That lasted, eh, a couple months, then I took a year-long break, played hatoful boyfriend, fell desperately in love with birds, joined the ill-fated Tangle Town where I met cool people who were kind enough to remember me and invite me to Translucence, where I started to evolve from lil baby to a Real Roleplayer and now I am the one trying to hit people up for shitty dragon RPs or I would be if I had any fucking ideas. Lately I only want to RP FR dragons, idiot bird people and watermelons this is not a good fucking repertoire. I gotta find a new forum because I decided to take my frustration out on an RP reply contest and the poor host got a four-page fucking response to their prompt it was madness.
What is the most absurd thing that’s ever happened to you?
Let's be real my life is 99% absurd bullshit from my mother's interdimensional boyfriends to ongoing debacle about the name Jack. My life is a joke and played end-to-end it's really no wonder I believe in the Trickster God.
The most absurd though was probly when I invited Meaghan up to visit me over spring break, because it was a fucking gong show of horrors LET ME TELL YOU
The fridge died so we had to adopt my grandparent's spare, we couldn't get up the hill because it was all ice and we slid sideways down it (First day!), Ralph's best friend died while Ralph was out on the boat, and my mom had to arrange the funeral for a guy she hardly knew because no one else knew how (which resulted in a breakdown because Ralph's mother told mine that 'Ralph wouldn't believe she loved him because she doesn't spend enough time on him' WHILE SHE'S ARRANGING A FUNERAL FOR THE GUY SO HE CAN ACTUALLY BE THERE and I don't care how fond the lady is of me or how old and allegedly sweet she is, she made my mother cry and that is Unforgivable.), plus my 5'2" mother had to drag Ralph's limp 6'+ body through the living room because he got strung out on oxycotin and booze at the wake, and she does this while refusing help and lecturing us on drugs, then there was an incident where I was trying to give my grandmother tech support over the phone while also playing security guard because my sister's boyfriend's dad was throwing a temper tantrum in our house and threatening to call the cops because his son was failing school. And other stuff I KNOW I'm forgetting because there was literally a tragedy every day for seven days and Meaghan has never been back to Maine and I can't in good conscience invite her.
Are there any foods or smells or sounds that trigger happy memories for you?
Not particularly. That's not really how I associate things.
Think of a skill you have and are proud of. Now, if you could trade that skill for another skill you’ve never managed to get the hang of, would you? Why or why not?
Eh, probably not. Most of my skills hinge on things that make me happy, and I've worked hard to maintain and build them, and there's nothing I hate more than being sent back to square one.
Unless bullshitting English assignments counts. Which I still love but no longer have the means to do. So I guess I would trade that for a better grasp of Japanese or being a decent hand at poetry instead of embarassingly forced and pretentious.
I am a genie and you get three wishes; you’re not allowed to wish for anything selfless, though. What do you wish?
Nothing selfless bah.
1. A lunchbox that has a new, random, delicious meal every time I open it complete with thermos/drink.
2. The ability to speak, read, and understand any and all languages.
3. I want to be better at focusing. That or spontaniously changing but conveniently relevant superpowers.
What was your first fandom? How did you discover fandom and what did you think at first?
I think, in terms of participating with other people, The PowerPuff Girls, and honestly, it was an accident. I was trying to understand the appeal of romance by writing a crackfic (it made sense at the time) that got pretty popular, actually, and people were just. Really happy that I didn't venomously ship PPG/RRB and I never had the heart to tell them I didn't really ship Him/Bubbles either I was just dicking around. I thought it was funny, really, and the people were nice. I never saw the great RRB wars of the PPG fandom I came late to the party and played in their ruins.
Was there a subject you hated in school that you are fascinated with now? How about vise versa?
Not really. I wasn't fond of math, though I am fond of it now, I suppose but. Wouldn't call it 'fascinated'.
What’s the most pleasant, wonderful thing that’s happened for you this week?
Hmmm. Ever tried Blue Velvet Cupcakes? They taste like blueberries.
Oh! Wait actually probably either Friday's DnD session or just starting up the general ongoing group chat with Jiggers and 0. Both are nice.
eeeeehhhhhhhhh eh eh I'm all eh about tagging folks, so... tag... alucifer, zaxal, nuthinduan, symbolicsodomy, kissawookiee, senorsparklefingers, daxdaxson... and I think that's all I really feel comfortable tagging, and who weren't tagged along with me (I think, could be wrong) though anyone else who wants to answer my dumb questions can feel free:
Do you have a character type (IE, a personality type you find you always like reading or writing about?)? What is it and why?
What's your earliest memory? Compare to what you are doing right now.
Any technological feat can exist right now if you so desire, but you must cancel out two historical technological advances to do so. Would you, and if so, what ones?
Would you eat a steak made from lion meat? What about Penguin? Would you eat a snake?
Ever miss someone that you met in a dream?
Ever been in a fistfight? Did you win?
What would you say your 'specialty' topic is? What topic are you guaranteed to know more about than anyone else in the room?
What are three pieces of media (Books, movies, cartoons) that you feel helped define your tastes? What about manner of writing/drawing/whathaveyou?
Do you have a 'White Whale' of any sort?
What's your morning ritual?
What's the best job you ever had? How about your worst?
