Thoughts on Season 1 of Buffy The Vampire Slayer (VERY minor spoilers)
Because I've finally started watching it after way too long
1 + 2. Welcome To The Hellmouth + The Harvest
Putting them together since it's a two-parter
I also don't have much to say about them individually
Buffy and Willow's friendship is so sweet
Really fun way to kick off the show
Totally unrelated, but Cordelia's actress has such a cool name
This might just end up being one of my favourites in the series
The premise is so cool, and was executed perfectly
Kinda wish the Big Bad was a reoccurring character
The whole thing was just perfect
Giles might actually be my favourite character so far
Teacher x student in romance? Icky. But here, it's valid, because it's rightfully meant to be creepy
I thought you guys were over-exaggerating when everyone collectively hated on Xander. But no. I understand
Why is he here other than to get into trouble so that the others have to swoop in and save him?????
5. Never Kill A Boy On The First Date
Pretty decent, I don't remember much
XANDER, IT'S BEEN 5 EPISODES. I GET THAT YOU HAVE A THING FOR BUFFY, BUT THIS IS GETTING ANNOYING NOW
The premise is SO COOL, but ONCE AGAIN the gang have to pick up the pieces after Xander makes a stupid error
The song they play when the bullies + Xander are slow-motion walking through the campus actually goes hard
Overall, I really liked it
Had to skip THAT scene with Angel and Buffy because it's weird on SO many levels
Great to see Darla again, her character's really cool
Oh Giles, my glorious King
A very good commentary on internet safety
OH LOOK! XANDER ISN'T THE ONE SCREWING UP FOR ONCE
No hate to Willow though, much love my angel
Jenny Calendar is such a cool character, the whole techo-pagan aspect is really interesting and I hope they dive into it more at some point
Nicholas Brendon is actually so funny, it sucks that his comedic timing is wasted on a character like Xander
GILES AND CORDELIA I'M GIGGLING
Not sure why Xander's making fun of Buffy saying she was harassed by the dummy, considering the amount of insane stuff they've all witnessed. Compared to that, the dummy actually sounds somewhat predictable
There's an Avengers episode (NOT the superhero films, the detective series from the 60s) with a similar premise to this one if anyone's interested
Personally, if I was going to make a self-insert, I wouldn't make them so detestable but that's just me
Giles bringing the girl flowers in hospital we love a gentleman
These Buffy-fake-out-deaths kind of lose their impact when you know the show is 7 seasons long and Sarah Michelle Geller is in every single one

11. Out Of Mind, Out Of Sight
Being the only person that isn't in on the joke in a friend group is actually the worst feeling in the world I hope Buffy gets compensation
I love Willow, she's doing her best
I feel like I haven't shown enough appreciation for Buffy herself. She's such an icon, and her cherry skirt + red coat in this episode is adorable
It sucks that most of Angel's development seems to have been expositional dialogue, because now he's kind of boring. He might get better as the show goes on though
WE GOT MORE DEPTH TO CORDELIA!! Her development isn't complete but it's starting!!
THAT FINAL SHOT OF WHAT THEY'RE LEARNING????? This episode could easily be a show in its own right
Xander's would LOVE the r/incels forum, he's so gross
GOD DAMN IT NICHOLAS BRENDON WHY IS YOUR LINE DELIVERY SO PERFECT?! I go from hating Xander to giggling
LOVELY to see Jenny again
This show has the most realistic depiction of The Chosen One I've ever seen. Yeah, she's a badass that has funny quips and great fashion, but she's still just a kid. Of course she's going to have moments where she's scared and starts to panic
Joyce not knowing what's going on in her daughter's world but still trying to support her and be there for her >>>>>>>
GILES WAS LITERALLY READY TO GO TO WAR AGAINST SUPERNATURAL BEINGS TO KEEP BUFFY ALIVE
The shot of Buffy in her prom dress, holding a crossbow, while standing in the alleyway has to be one of the coolest shots of the season

Final Thoughts: I have no idea why it took me so long to actually watch this show (especially considering I really like vampire media), I'm loving it so much! Particularly excited to start season 2 since I know that's when a certain leather-clad vampire comes in, and he's kind of the reason I wanted to watch it in the first place
