Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is irl Star Trek language. First contact would go smoother if the Federation has identified all fundamental physical, emotional and sensual (not the Kirk kind) 👽 needs of a species and lead the conversation around those.
I found this to be an interesting, somewhat relatable approach to NVC basics. I really appreciate the TV clips and succinct nature of explanations from Kat Green. It also seems Kat has an aversion to and discomfort with the word “hate” which... well I used to have a disgust response when hearing that word and chose to instead use the word “despise” or pause and seek something positive in the situation.
Seems I’ve been a little jaded away from my values. I hope to practice a little mindfulness of self and try reframing to a place from where my heart feels a little more full.
