"You’re pushing my limits."
TENSION LINER PROMPTS - @nvertoolate
"Didn't really gimmie 'nother choice this time, Terra."
And she didn't, not with the situation that she had put the duplicator in, hell, even put herself in, considering this moment. No, it wasn't really her fault—she was literally doing her job as a Titan by calling for backup when him and his team had executed this relatively big and extensive plan. Of course he didn't care for how the Titans did things, being heroes and all, but he did understand that that's the position she involved herself in and therefore had to follow that lead.
Up until this point, all of their interactions had been relatively easy or they were situations where the both of them were able to be one-on-one without any sort of their-own-team interference. But this time everyone was involved, everyone was in close proximity, and he had to fight her and vice versa or else things would truly look off and suspicious. Even when Billy tried to skirt off to direct his attention to a different Titan, somehow he kept ending up having to "deal with her," as his own teammates kept calling out to him. Of course he wasn't fighting for his life with her; he wasn't putting all his brute strength into trying to hurt her, he would never want to do that, but he still had to put a good effort in, especially since she really was for her own sake.
All this, just when they were starting to get closer. This would probably set them back a bit, which he didn't like the thought of, but these were just some of the things that had to be dealt with when on opposite sides. It was obvious there were feelings between the two of them but nothing was exactly said or done about them, not yet at least. There hasn't been any sort of opportunity to full on deal with that situation just yet.
With the fight itself seemingly becoming more spread out and things overall slowing down, Terra had tripped and fallen on the ground near him, by the hands of one of his duplicates, and at this point she seemed pretty spent. Billy looked at her, standing still as he did so, a knot forming in his stomach and a guilty one, actually. He felt really bad about all of this with her and didn't know what to do anymore. When his brain started to scream at him to help her, it was as if his surroundings declined it as Beast Boy went to help her instead.
She met his gaze briefly, an obvious hurt behind her eyes—but not necessarily directed towards the duplicator—before letting her teammate take her away to safety.
Never catch feelings for a hero.
