Never been so glad to be AMD girlie. what nvidia just did with AI DLSS is absolute disgusting and bordering on illegal and infringement on IP! tho I am afraid others might soon follow. :( it should be absolutely forbidden to change game assets, character/environment/lighting design or characters faces that extent! dev's made it like that for a reason, it's their creative work and vision! I literally cant believe this is real and not a joke or a meme! also this insane obsession with super high photo-realism in games needs to stop because that is why fantasy is lost.
Capcom And Ubisoft Developers Were Reportedly Unaware Of Nvidia's Controversial DLSS 5 Announcement
According to a new report, developers at Capcom found out about DLSS 5 at the same time as everyone else.
“a new report from Insider Gaming suggests that developers at Capcom and Ubisoft were unaware of the announcement and found out about DLSS 5 at the same time as everyone else.”
"We found out at the same time as the public," one Ubisoft developer is quoted as saying.
“A developer at Capcom was shocked at the announcement, as the studio has traditionally been very anti-AI, and some at the studio now fear that executives are changing their minds about the technology”
( including removing AI art from fan contests from Megaman and SF6)
Studios like Bethesda was involved in the process, with them tweeting "Appreciate your excitement and analysis of the new DLSS 5 lighting here. This is a very early look, and our art teams will be further adjusting the lighting and final effect to look the way we think works best for each game. This will all be under our artists’ control, and totally optional for players,"
In a press Q&A with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, the CEO has said that those who have criticised DLSS 5 and the tech are "completely wrong".
