I'm a sucker for arranged marriages turned real, so here it is with Timber and Treat for very personal reasons. (um. hi namiverse tumblr. waving nervously)
Lore under the cut lol
The rabbits have taken more territory on Mount Sorbet than the wolves can handle. There's so little room for one pack, let alone two- so Vanilla and Glaze are forced to unify again.
They do this by holding a Moonlight Ceremony between the two eldest children (or, only) of the two packs' leaders; Timber and Treat. Neither really wants this, of course- Timber quite enjoys being unrestrained, and Treat is still grappling with the concept of her polyamory. But given the dire situation, they don't really have a choice, so they agree for the sake of the wolves of the mountain.
The first time they meet each other, it's the spring before Treat would've run away at the start of the game. Their Ceremony is set to be held in only a few nights, the Moon overlooking that flowerbed when she is finally full. Both of them are rendered breathless when they lay eyes on each other- but neither one is willing to admit how attractive the other is. Timber is far too stubborn, and Treat is far too timid. They start to butt heads fairly quickly.
Timber brings home rabbit meat, and Treat refuses to eat it. They argue.
Treat forages the typical food, and Timber complains it isn't nearly enough. Argue.
It's tiring. Trick tries their best to help Treat keep calm, but her head is far too much of a mess! She liked Fennel for a while, and she still likes Trick, and now in walks Timber all attractive and smug and stubborn, and MOONLIGHT she wants to hit that smug face off of him and then-
It's when they get locked into the abandoned cabin south of the now-massive Frosting that they finally talk.
Of course, it's hostile at first, a screaming match that Timber is winning by sheer volume alone. As the tensions run high, he finally stops when he looks at his supposed wife-
She's crying.
He sees Treat cry, and his instinct kicks in. Finally, he quiets down and really listens to her. And she listens to him. They both learn things that maybe they didn't want to know, but are certainly a help.
They're honest with each other for the first time. Treat learns about Grim, and Timber learns of Treat's fear of being trapped with only one partner. (She doesn't have to be, he promises. He can't guarantee only one is enough for him, either, so they'll see what happens. She genuinely smiles at him for the first time.)
When the door is broken down by a very panicked Candy and Tundra, the two are cuddled up and laughing. Maybe, they suppose, they're able to get used to their new partner.
