🎤 Day 54 #101Smiles: New York Comic Con Memories
Throwback to Jen attending New York Comic Con over the years; 2013➡️2014➡️2015➡️2016
Which look was your favorite?
I've heard a story long ago about Dobson that I'm not sure is true or even heard it on KF. Maybe you've heard of it. So, did Dobson have a booth at some convention where he failed to sell any of his drawings/comics and his mom had to buy all of them to make him feel better?
It was his mom and aunt, and it wasn’t all his stuff but a large chunk of it...but yeah. That is in fact a true story.
From what I understand, he was part of a group of webcomic artists that were all being published under the Alterna Comics publishing brand, and Dobson was specifically there because of his Formera comic. Not counting what his family bought, he apparently only sold 7 copies of his book.
I now present to you...Dobson’s trip to the 2009 New York Comic Con.
This was written on on old blog of Dobson’s, and while he actually deleted the account sometime within the last year, a web archive of the page does exist, just in case you want full proof.
Dobson seemed to have spent the majority of his time there either resenting the others for their “dark violent” books turning people away in his “all ages” comic, being jealous that others were popular and he wasn’t, and leaving the booth to sketch alone without talking with anyone, something you might recognize as similar behavior to how he acted in college and his anime club, according to the “Hat Andy” stories.
As for the specific moment you mentioned, he talks about it in the “Day 3” section.
Conner, Palmiotti Reunite for Harley Quinn and The Birds of Prey Miniseries
Announced at New York Comic Con 2019, Harley Quinn and The Birds of Prey serves as the official sequel to Conner and Palmiotti's bestselling run on the Clown Princess of Crimes' mainline solo series, which began in 2013. The 4 issue mini-series is scheduled to launch this February as a part of DC Comics' Black Label imprint and will be shipped monthly.
Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey follows Harley, who finds herself in the crosshairs of Gotham's worst villains after the Joker puts a $10 million bounty on her head. In order to find out why her ex-partner has sicked this rogue's gallery on her, Harley enlists the help of Black Canary, Cassandra Cain, Renee Montoya and the Huntress.

NBC’s Manifest cast having fun at SyFyWire’s New York Comic Con 2019 live interview.
The entire cast showed up for a 15 minute interview on October 6, 2019 at the SyFyWireLive booth. It went fast, was fun, no spoilers because a producer/writer was also there ;) Unfortunately I ended up on left side of stage and the actors’seats were slanted toward the right (and SyFy’s videographer). I’ve got more pics and will post later. Love some of the expressions I was able to catch.
NYCC Crowley Cosplay;) Not too shabby for an amateur. Can I get a “wahho”?
