It’s that time of the year again!
I once again made my way up to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for their annual steam gala! Once again there was plenty to see and it was well worth a visit.
Coincidentally, it is exactly 200 years to the day of the first public train to run on the Stockton and Darlington Railway. What a way to spend the day, although it would’ve been brilliant to see the replica Locomotion No.1 recreating that run! It’s been a brilliant year of celebration and there’s still more to come.
Happy Railway 200, everyone!

This is Definitely my favourite set of photos I took from my visit to the NYMR today.
It’s such a beautiful engine, especially in shine of the late afternoon sun.
76079 was built at Horwich works in 1957 to a standard BR design of R. A. Riddles, seen here at Grosmont on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

Does anyone remember the Pub AU?
Well, I'm in North Yorkshire once again, and of course I had to make a stop at Levisham (along the North Yorkshire Moors Railway), which had a great part in my inspiration for Thornby.
Including the Horseshoe Inn, in Thornby known as the Bolton Arms. (Bolton Castle can be found near Wensleydale!) Oh and of course the moor, not unlike the one Heathcliff (and even worse creatures when it comes to Thornby) liked to roam:

Speaking of the pub, what would Jon and Theon rename it after buying it from Lady Walda? The Lucky Fox? The Naughty Cat? The Greysnow Arms? 🤣
