what happened…

On March 7, Highfield Entertainment released a statement on updates of their new girl group MAY10, however fans were greeted with the upsetting news that members Jihan and Lonny would not being debuting in the group.

On December 12, 2019, Highfield Entertainment and Mnet broadcasted the first episode of the survival show Mey10. The survival show introduced 20 trainees from Highfield, with the intention of debuting 10 of the contestants in the girl group MAY10.

When the show wrapped up on February 14 of 2020, the lineup consisted of Duri, Jihan, Jingyi, Jiah, Hachi, Iseul, Myung, Nova, Lonny, and Yumi. However in Highfield's newest announcement, it was revealed that two of the winners, Jihan and Lonny would not be debuting with the rest of the members.

They stated "After lots of thinking, MAY10 members Jihan and Lonny both requested to end their contracts with Highfield Entertainment. This contract was signed at the beginning of the survival show Mey10 confirming that the contestants did indeed agree to debut in the girl group."

Though Jihan was confirmed to end all contracts with the company, Lonny did not. Fans are hopeful that because Lonny is still a trainee in the company that she will debut as a soloist, but this has not been confirmed by Lonny or the company.

The members both wrote personal letters to fans. Jihan wrote "Thank you to everyone who has supported me on Mey10, the love and support mean a lot. I am sorry to any fans that may feel disappointed or upset by my decision. Please continue to support my dear friend of MAY10 for me. I love you"

Lonny wrote "I am sorry to the people that might be hurt by this news. I am sorry to my friends and family who continued believing in me. And I am sorry to the members i have let down. I promise this is not the last you will see of me though, I love you all, thank you"

While it wasn't stated why Lonny isn't debuting, Highfield stated that Jihan would be returning to her hometown in Busan to continue her studies in the medical field.

How's the nyxbab doing?

I took her to the vet, and they couldn’t find anything with a normal exam–she had a fever of 105f, had to have fluids injected so that her body could absorb them, and is on antibiotics and meds to help her be hungry, so…Tired, sleeping on my bed, still really lethargic. I got her to eat earlier, so that’s good, but I’ll know what’s wrong (hopefully) in the morning when they call w bloodwork results.Thanks for askin’ tbh, being able to say she’s home and breathing is really important rn <3
