I asked for ideas to interpret in the form of #lipart and @limaraaina suggested 'Yin/Yang'. A lot of you would know that this is the Chinese symbol for the balance between two opposites (light/dark, male/female, black/white etc.). What's less known is that it is also very similar to the astrological for Cancer, my zodiac sign. Cancer rules motherhood and accordingly the two curves stand for the breasts. But they are also a combination of 6 (the number of Venus for femininity) and 9 (the number of Mars for masculinity). I like to think my sign represents new life that is possible because of this balance of feminine and masculine energies. How I did this: Outlined with #FacesCanada gel pencil, painted in #L'OréalWickedlyWhite and #NyxAlien. I considered doing the background in red but I realised that yin/yang stands on its own and needs no more. So I just laid on a coat of #L'OréalLeGold. This tends to go on somewhat chalky but as I happily discovered awhile ago, it matches my skin perfectly, just adding a little shimmer. I've also used it on my browbone as a highlighter. The monsoons have just announced their arrival so here's a relieved welcome to some coolness and water after a hot summer.
