sansa stark wanted nothing more than to be a gryffindor . the starks had been a family of gryffindors for generations , && her desperation to fulfill family legacy only grew when her older brother went off to hogwarts && was sorted there . oh , how excited she was when he wrote to her && told her of his adventures && classes . but the sorting hat had a different plan for her . ❝ more your mother than your father ... ❞ the sorting hat said amused . that’s when the fear set in ; sansa wouldn’t be a gryffindor like her family , she would end up elsewhere . ❝ you’re a bit of everything , aren’t you ? ❞ the old hat teases . ❝ ambitious , cunning , sly ... oh you’d prosper in slytherin . ❞ her heart sinks , wanting nothing to do with the house her father had branded an enemy all those years ago . ❝ perhaps ... hufflepuff ? i do see honor && loyalty within you too ... no , that’s not right . you’re intelligent .. witty , clever ... you just don’t realize your capabilities yet , do you ? ah yes , now i see -- you will truly flourish in these conditions . ❞ the young girl , only eleven swallows hard at her throat . this couldn’t be happening to sansa . NO , NO , NO ! blue eyes , watery with tears seek out her brother in the crowd . how badly she wished to be with robb , how badly she wanted to be a part of her family’s legacy under red && gold . ❝ RAVENCLAW ! ❞

a table two down erupts in thunderous applause . she hears them murmuring about getting a stark , one of the most powerful families in the wizarding world . how odd that a stark wasn’t sitting upon the table of the brave , but instead upon the clever . she pulls her eyes away from robb , fear enveloping her as she approaches her new home . she was ashamed , surely robb would be upset she didn’t carry on the stark legacy . sansa’s too scared to even meet his eyes as he desperately tries to find hers , to try to reassure her in the way only her big brother can . but it does no good . that night , sansa cries herself to sleep . years of hoping down the gutter . little does she know how much she’ll prosper here , how she will come to find herself ; how she will no longer be the girl she thinks she should be from the stories read to her as a child . it is here where sansa stark becomes a powerful witch , bringing pride to house stark .
