Oasis Daisy and Shy Guy. Happy Switch 2 and Mario Kart World Day!
I know Luigi has his own Oasis fit like Daisy in Mario Kart World, but ngl when I think of Luaisy together, I now think of her in the Oasis costume and Luigi in that cute Farmer outfit lol (Like ngl it looks quite malewife-coded to me and really Luigi's gotta be the most badass malewife of all time)
Oasis Daisy I love you
I may have gotten a bit attached to Oasis Daisy.
Mario Kart World may not be perfect, but I've been having a lot of fun with it. Free roam really scratches an itch for me. I love the open, connected world, and finding collectibles/doing missions throughout the world brings me a very simple kind of happiness.
I beat the Flower Cup before the Mushroom Cup specifically so I could play as Daisy. Going out of order hurt, but I had to do it for my favorite princess. Oasis was the first costume I unlocked for her--not because I specifically sought it out, but because I happened to get some naan in Shy Guy Bazaar. The first instance of something always feels special, doesn't it?
I LOVE how they're actually acknowledging Sarasaland beyond "Daisy's kingdom that showed up once in 1989" now. I will be a Desert Hills defender to the bitter end for that reason; the Tokotokos and Patadons give me life. The palace in Shy Guy Bazaar? Gorgeous, and it has Gao statues at the entrance. The classic dollop pattern on Daisy's Oasis pants? Amazing. I hope we get to see Muda and Chai in the future, but the Pyrapt and Easton representation is great!
So yeah. I drew Oasis Daisy over the course of last night and this evening. I used metallic/glitter/pastel gel pens, pastel colored pencils, and a very basic graphite pencil. It was a nice way to pass the time, and I think I might draw her in some of her other outfits (and maybe the other princesses + Pauline and Birdo, too).
