꒰     ﾉ     .     ‎꣑꣒          the   evening   was   filled   with   noise   and   celebration     .     paskuhan   is   one   of   korain's   favorite   events   to   attend   when   he   was   still   a   student    and   it's   not   any   different   now   that   he's   attending   as   an   alumni     .     him   and   hyeri   attended   together     ,     but   had   to   separate   for   a   while   to   catch   up   with   their   circle   of   friends   from   their   respective   majors     .     korain   was   constantly   checking   his   phone   to   look   at   the   time     .     they   agreed   to   meet   at   lover's   lane   at   a   certain   time     ,     so   that   they   can   spend   the   rest   of   paskuhan   together     .     this   time   as   a   couple     .     things   were   a   lot   different   during   the   last   ones     ,     which   made   this   year's   extremely   special     .     

walking   through   lover's   lane     ,    he   watched   the   christmas   lights   that   lit   up   the   trees     .     korain   had   something   planned   tonight     ,     he   was   just   waiting   for   the   right   moment     .     when   he   spots   hyeri   sitting   on   one   of   the   benches     ,     he   snaps   a   picture   from   his   phone   before   approaching   her   and   kissing   the   top   of   her   head     .     “     kamusta   reunion   mo   with   friends     ?     ”     he   sits   next   to   her     ,     taking   her   hand   in   his     ,     intertwining   their   fingers   together     .     “     pagod   ka   na   ba     ?     ayain   sana   kita   to   walk   around     ,     since   maluwag   na   dito     ,     but   if   you're   tired   na     ,     uwi   na   tayo     .     ”

꒰     ﾉ     .     ‎꣑꣒          after   making   dinner   and   putting   up   all   the   christmas   decorations—   yes     ,     including   a   tree   that   he   insisted   on   buying   even   after   iris   protested     ,     it   was   time   for   a   well-deserved   rest     .     gale   was   glad   that   they're   still   able   to   do   their   little   traditions     ,     despite   their   history     .     she   was   still   his   best   friend   after   all     ,     so   there   really   was   no   reason   why   they   couldn't     .     was   it   bad   to   think   that   he   felt   a   glimpse   of   hope     ?     for   them   to   try   again     ?     that   maybe   she   felt   the   same   way   too     ?     all   these   questions   caught   up   with   him   while   he   was   helping   her   prepare   dinner     :     iris   scolding   him   for   making   a   mess     ,     mistaking   the   sugar   for   salt     ,     even   going   as   far   as   almost   lighting   a   kitchen   towel   on   fire   because   he   was   careless—   it   all   felt   so   natural     ,     like   nothing   changed     ,     and   they   were   just   spending   time   together   like   normal   . 

the   whistling   of   the   kettle   pulled   him   out   of   his   thoughts     .     gale   made   tea   for   both   of   them     ,     along   with   slices   of   the   cake   they   baked   earlier     .     for   last   minute   preparations     ,     they   were   able   to   get   everything   ready   in   no   time     .     “     here     ,     be   careful     ,     it's   still   hot     ,     ”     he   set   the   tray   on   top   of   the   coffee   table   in   front   of   them     .     it   felt   extra   cozy   with   the   christmas   lights   he   had   put   up   around   the   living   room     ,     while   a   random   christmas   movie   was   playing   on   the   television     .     this   was   a   perfect   way   to   end   the   night     .     “     on   a   scale   of   one   to   ten     ,     how   helpful   was   i   today     ?     if   you   say   anything   lower   than   eight     ,     hindi   ko   bibigay   gift   mo     .     ”

꒰     ﾉ     .     ‎꣑꣒         3:00   a.m.     ,     the   clock   read     .     they   had   about   an   hour   and   a   half   to   get   ready   before   the   first   simbang   gabi   starts     .     yohan   stayed   the   night   at   piper's   apartment   as   it   was   closer   to   the   university   where   the   church   was     .     he   will   still   half   asleep     ,     but   he   got   up   and   prepared   a   small   breakfast   for   them     ,     since   they   were   going   to   eat   after   the   mass   anyway     .     “     piper     ,     it's   three   o'   clock     ,     maaga   pa   naman   so   you   can   still   sleep   in     ,     but   i   made   breakfast   na     ,     ”     he   whispers     ,     sitting   next   to   her   on   her   side   of   the   bed     ,     poking   on   her   cheek   playfully     .
