Someone asked me if the OB eye flames are real fire.

I've asked this question before but I managed to figure it out myself. Basically, the eye flame is usually the color of the eyes of the current host of overblot. well, not usually, but sometimes.

you see, if the eye flame actually behaved like real fire, and the OBer was immune to it, then their clothing would still catch fire, because some things don't need to be touching the fire, and they can just be near to burst into flames.

Now, of course, this would be extremely bad, in both you're burning alive, and you would end up buttass bare.

So, this already proves the flame isn't real fire, because why would the blot create something it's weak to? Because it can be symbolism.

According to multiple sites, a flame can mean transformation. The overblotters did, in fact, transform, but fire can also mean Divine Presence. Do with that what you will.

Also, if the flame behaved like real fire, then everything it got near would catch fire. Considering the fact that all dorms (excluding diasomnia) are jock FULL of items that are highly flammable and explosive, the dorms would be in flames. Why? Because if you are simply close to a fire, you can also catch fire.

And, the eye flame is really big for an eye accessory. If it was real, then the overblotter in question would catch everything on fire with their eye.

Take this image for example (I actually have no other ob characters in my files wtf). The flame alone is about the width of his hair, maybe even larger.

In conclusion, no, the overblot eye flame does not work like real fire. Instead, it probably is some form of symbolism.
