hi. play nehrim <333 jkjk but here's a guide if you wanna play it
hi @ my vynblrinos. you should tooootally play nehrim. not even because narathzul is there or because you get to kill malphas or because you get to see constanine firespark before he did all that shit BUT because the dungeons are so fun. you can kill the sun. there's a tower defense game. there's lore that will drive you wild if you associate it with enderal. t*alor is there
anyways this is a repost of my collection on nexus mods and my steam guide, just now on tumblr for ease of access or whatever.
it's all under the cut, with the links all nice and tidy :)
also. in case you can't look up something. nehrim steam link here.
also please remember one thing. every copy of nehrim is personalised and comes with its own chaos, on account of the veiled woman being installed directly into your pc /j
Crashing, 3rd Person Camera, Lighting
NTCore’s 4GB Patch: THE mod to get. Gives Nehrim more memory to work with, which means a lot less crashes (in my experience, I’ve gone from a crash every 5 – 15 mins to a crash every two hours!) Installation is p straightforward, launch the program, find oblivion.exe (do not apply to Nehrim.exe or anything that isn’t Oblivion!), let it apply the patch, done. Note: it’s good to apply this patch to older games that have a tendency to crash! I slap it on Morrowind, The Sims 2, and ofc Oblivion)

There's an Oblivion specific version, but I prefer NTCore's since I can slap it on every old game I have.

ChaseCameraMod: Oblivion’s 3rd person camera is An Experience. This mod makes it less elastic and removes the weird swing. Works like Morrowind’s 3rd person camera, so character movement is linked to camera movement. Not ideal when coming from Enderal, but it stopped my motion sickness :) Bonus points because manual installation is easy and you don’t need a compatibility patch for Nehrim. riding a horse is still a bit of a struggle but!! this mitigates a lot of the issues!

Arcane Amulet of Light: Nehrim is a physically dark game. I can’t see shit someone help me. The original Arcane Amulet of Light is wiped from Nexusmods, so I reuploaded it + included my little patch because I can’t get my hands on the original guide on how to make the amulet itself. If someone still has the original instructions, please share them! My patch is just a ring with the same effects as the amulet, located in a sack right in front of where your character spawns when you start the game.

Stupid little fixes
Okay they're not stupid, but just helpful to have around. Based on issues I've had myself. not mods, just a bit of file wrangling
Keyboard not working? Go to Documents > My Games > Oblivion > Oblivion.ini. Find "bBackground Mouse and bBackground Keyboard", and change the 0 to 1. It just?? does that sometimes?? not even oblivion does that.
Disable Walk Blessed in launcher: stops a lot of crashes on top of the 4GB patch.
Misc Stuff that doesn't fit anywhere
(In my experience) MO2 is a bit messy with Nehrim, WryeBash is good for mod install!
Most Oblivion mods can be made compatible with Nehrim via changing the master from Oblivion to Nehrim in Wrye Bash. (right click in the Masters window > allow editing > right click on the .esm, pick your new master file)
If Wrye doesn't work right off the bat, switch to Oblivion, install Wrye, switch back to Nehrim, install Wrye again. Seems redundant but it's a fix!

ORN to unpotato the faces. Make everyone a model (relative to vanilla). Please look at the required mods to download all the dependencies! >>> here\
Shameless self promo :if you have ORN I made a little mod that makes the top 3 lads (Narathzul/arkt/kim) a bit nicer to look at. But only if you have ORN otherwise it’ll just Not work. If you want Fem!Kim in your game regardless of your PC's gender pick Fem!Kim flavour, if you want Male!Kim in your game pick Male!Kim. easy. >>> here\
Coming from Enderal? Nehrim Unretconned Names changes the names of a few things to make the transition from Enderal easier :) >>> here\
Normalized Music for Nehrim: makes the sound nicer and more regular. >>> here
Highly recommended list to make your Nehrim/Oblivion the prettiest ever
thewandererwanderson's mod list is a really good one, I don't use their ENB and use Cyrodiil instead, but this is a good starting point!
never been a fan of the vanilla elven horse armor so i made my own
