observable radio is so insane for going from like oh yeah its just some guy in a tower hearing stuff to oh god this is very very big this is all encompassing everything is lore in like 15 episodes and still feeling perfectly paced
observable radio is so insane for having zero fandom despite having some of the best stand alone stories I've heard in a while told in a really interesting and engaging way and a cool asf overreaching meta.
observable radio is so insane for taking some very very real world problems and going 'here's how these could get even worse!'
observable radio is so insane for having 2 endings and letting the listener pick which one to listen to first that was so insane hello???
observable radio is so insane for observer and trapper (they are so doomed it hurts)
observable radio is so insane guys please go listen
Audio Drama Sunday imagines the future
Killjam: Hail to the Queen, baby
Been waiting for this debut for a while, and it pays off the anticipation! Sexyviolent queer gonzo technicolour grindhouse. The commentators are as OTT as the deathmatch gladiators and I will love each one of them until Faustina Fetamine eviscerates them.
Observable Radio: Large Models
Catching up on this season from a couple of years ago – this episode stands alone as a simple, eloquent and chilling series of vignettes of the future we might be heading to, where everything is language models talking to each other endlessly degrading and loopong...
I’m bored and actually going to tag the Podcasts. I’m potentially getting a new job that’ll let me listen to which ones should I continue. I started all of these just haven’t finished them. I also put where I’m at on them! Feel free to give reasons to!
So what should I continue to listen to?
The Patient Files (season 1 episode 6)
Travelling Light (episode 5)
Observable Radio (episode 13)
The Phosphene Catalogue (season 2 episode 1)
The Outside Tapes (episode 5)
Travelling Light featured in this week's The Full Lid!
Big thanks to Alasdair Stuart for writing lovely things about Travelling Light in his newsletter this week!
You probably know Alasdair as a voice actor in several fabulous pods, including the Magnus Archives, The Secret of St Kilda and Re: Dracula to name just a few.
He also writes a weekly newsletter called The Full Lid covering all things pop cultural. It's a lovely wee thing to have dropped into your inbox every Friday, and I really recommend checking it out. (I'm mildly biased not because he said nice things about TL, but because he has very similar Doctor Who opinions as me and I find it very validating to see them in print)
Here's a link to this week's issue featuring Travelling Light, @ethicstownpod and Observable Radio, and you can subcribe for more or read back issues from there too!
Forgot how delightfully bone-chilling Observable Radio was. Highly recommend! I’m personally slowly picking my way through season 1. It’s slow coming. I’m on episode 9. Might listen more as I do school work or maybe not so I can focus on the episode. We’ll see! : )
honestly cant believe ive spent a month thinking about 14ep clifhanger wondering if its gonna be singal people noise creature or trapper or maybe something else and creators just went fuck it!!! all of the above.
if you're listening to this without permission please stop. this is not for you.
