It’s far too early in the morning for most people to be awake. The sun hasn’t risen. Most businesses aren’t open. A lot of college students and teens would probably argue that it’s still night while they slave away on papers and projects... Yet here Lu is- wandering down the street after taking a late night drive on his motorcycle. It’s not like he wants to be awake. He only left the confines of his home because his mind was full of a few too many thoughts and he was hoping oh so much that just leaving the room would make the buzzing of his own thoughts fade for just a moment. The drink has helped some too, but that’s unimportant.
He barely slept an hour- maybe less, yet that small period of time was filled with as much terror as possible. Images of people he hasn’t spoken to in years- some dead (most dead). Really his dreams are just memories. He’s seen them enough before, though. He’s had enough of them when he experienced them in real life. He really would rather not have to do it again (and again and again and again).
Unfortunately, being outside isn’t making his thoughts disappear. The bike ride did feel good. The cold wind might have sobered him up some, which is less positive as far as he’s concerned. At least he still has more to drink. He thought that over before he left. He’s glad that he did.
So now he’s just walking down the sidewalk- exhausted and just a bit tipsy. His head is full of nonsense and he’d really rather be able to just pass out in his bed right now. That would, of course, require him going all the way back to his apartment now that he’s driven all the way out here. It feels like a waste, so he’ll just stick around. It’s not like he won’t feel like crap anyway.
That’s when he hears it- a voice. His eyes widen just a bit and he finds himself changing his course just a bit. He wants to get a bit closer to that voice- to that person. Even if it’s just a quiet song, he can’t help it. Really, he’s not sure what he’s doing. At least for the time being his mind is only focused in on that sound.
He rounds the corner and spots the singer quickly. It’s dark and most might have a hard time seeing him at that distance, but Lu has his advantages. He blinks just a bit- resting one hand on the wall. For a moment he doesn’t move. He just wants to watch- to enjoy. At the same time, he finds himself focusing in on singer. He’s... very beautiful.
It’s been a while since he’s found himself thinking that. He’s seen a lot of attractive people, but usually he pushes his thoughts away easily. This time, for whatever reason though, his mind is stuck on the thought. It’s not shaking.
He almost thinks it’s suspicious.
But he walks over none the less- a smile in place and posture making him seem far more confident than he is. He glances down and the singer and tilts his head to the side- eyes narrowing. His eyes glint in the low light- if only slightly. He’s not completely sure what to say, but he finds himself speaking none the less.
“You have a beautiful voice.” He laughs just a bit- covering his mouth with the side of his hand. At least it hides his teeth. “Actually, you’re quite beautiful yourself, love. Sorry to approach so suddenly. I couldn’t help but overhear.”
He hums to himself. For a moment his mind flips to a less that fun image. It would probably be fun to kill this guy, but he pushes that away. He’s probably just hungry- it has been a while. He moves a hand to push his hair back and lets out a sigh. Well, now that he’s said a bunch of odd stuff he’d rather he DIDN’T, he might as well keep going.
“What’s your name? I’m Lu, at least that’s what most people call me. What are you doing out at such a time?”
