Munday Vol. 4

-Do you prefer to brainstorm your plots or wing them? Do you have no preference in either?  I don’t particularly have a preference. As long as I know vaguely where we are gonna end up, I’m good.

-What kind of writing memes do you like, if any (sentence starters, drabble memes, head-canon memes, etc)? I’ve only had a couple memes sent my way, and i think i like headcanon memes a lot. lets me explore the character without having to work all the way through writing things out in their voice if you know what i mean???

-What’s the easiest way to plot with you? Alternatively, what is the easiest way to contact you for plotting? I think everyone currently here in obs has discord, and it’s really the easiest way to get a hold of me. I’ve got discord on my phone so I know when people are messaging me. I check tumblr daily, but usually late at night in EST time. So if someone doesnt have discord, they can message me here.

-What kind of movies/television series/dramas/anime/etc do you like to watch? I fall really hard for sports anime and really bad romance anime and action anime. Which is like everything. so... not particulalrly helpful. Overall I’d say my taste in movies is “bad movies” Things that really are bad but are fun to laugh at and make fun of.

-Would you be interested in the occasional group viewing of a movie/series/drama/cartoon/etc, if one were to be organized? Yeeeeeeeeeeaa boiiii.

-If yes to the above, do you have any specifics in time or day as to when you are available to attend? If no, is there any group activity that you would be interested in participating in (ie, games of some sort)? I live with helsing and bun, so like. any time theyre good, ill probably be good for too. I think cards against humanity would be really fun with everyone.

-If you were caught up in a food fight, what food would you throw first? none. its my food.

-If you could be any mythological beast, which one would you be and why? I dont tend to think that hard about stuff like that? Probably like.... a bugbear or something. I dunno.

-Top five things that make you happy? cdra, bun, warden, fluffy, my dog, and obscura. boom.

-Share a picture! It could be of your bias, a cute animal, a drawing, a meme, an anime wife—anything you’d like!

“Let me help you,” she said, ignoring the cold trickle of blood running down her own neck. Slowly wrapped the bandage around his throat, glad she was carrying some of her treated medical supplies. After knotting it gently, she procured a small glass vial from her bag and forced it into his hands. “Take this, it’ll heal faster,”

She stepped away from him and suddenly pressed her hand to her neck, realizing that she too had been bitten. “I’m fine,” she told him quietly, looking over his appearance.

“I would offer to buy you a meal or drinks as thank you, but I don’t think we can go anywhere like this. How can I ever thank you?”

Sangmin flinched at the feeling of hands attending to his wound. It wasn’t often that a complete stranger did that for him. Usually it would just wait until he could find one of his Aequitas buddies.

“Do I like… Drink this stuff? Or pour it on the bite?” He looks at the blood trickling down her neck. “You sure you don’t need it? Do you have more?” He carefully slides the vial into his pocket, and slips Hilda back into his boot.

“Oh no there’s no need to thank me, just doing my job. You were in a lot of trouble there. With that many bloodsuckers on one person you’d probably be dead.” Sangmin works on standing up, struggling just a little bit as the adrenaline leaves his system. “I’ve got to get to work, but if you’d like we can hang out some time?”

He slaps his face as he realizes the info he is missing. “I forgot to ask, what’s your name? I’m Sangmin.”

He sets his mind to locating Greta and Hans, the two hammers he entered the alleyway brandishing, and once he finds them, re-holsters them. “I mostly work nights, so I’d be free whenever I guess.”

Himchan primarily focused on stretching his arms and legs. His eyes would find their way wandering to Sangmin. It would be beneficial to know just who he was up against. As he was finishing up more core exercises, he noticed the impatient attitude of the other. He remembered him being that way in the past, too. A laugh bellowed from his chest, and he nearly fell onto his butt.

“All right, all right. We can go get this show going.” He regained his balance and slowly raised up until his legs were straight. “You sure are cocky.” He was ignoring the hypocrisy in his own statement.

Lowering down again into a stance, Himchan beckoned for Sangmin to venture closer. “Here, I will give you the first move. Maybe you will get a KO.” A cheeky grin lies on his face. “Show me what you’ve got, big boy.”

Sweat dripped rhythmically onto the floor of the abandoned factory, mingling with dirt and dust. Sangmin sits with his back against a wall, elbows propped up on his weary knees, panting heavily. His head sinks low, and he ruffles his sweaty hair in extreme disappointment.  

His head raises as he surveys their damage to the factory. They’ve broken some things in the past, and it’s no different today. Sangmin managed to accidentally break a window somehow in the midst of their fight. Scuffs and footprints scattered their way through the dust and grime of the floor. If anyone else comes in here, they could probably tell exactly how it went down.

A grunt sounded from him, and he makes an attempt to stand up. A second grunt, the sounds of dirt on the floor scuffing around, and a second attempt. Third attempt succeeds with a victorious groan, and he sways a bit on his sore legs. A black eye is clearly forming on his face, but he doesn’t seem to notice yet.

“Man, you put up quite a fight.” Sangmin chuckled a bit following his statement. “Guess I gotta… carry you home after all this? You beat me pretty good.” His hand finds its way to the back of his neck to scratch an itch as a smile forms on his face.

in the henhouse

It was a new restaurant that had just popped up near his old university. He had overheard a some guests talk about it at the cafe`. It automatically piked his interest, with Sangmin being the first person he could think of who would want to go with him. Getting excited like before, Hoseok hurried to their meet up location, only to notice that he was first to arrive.

Walking in he was already met with his first obstacle, the hostess. Before she could even say a word he quickly blurted out, “Table for two,” and adverted his eyes to the ground as she slowly led him to a small booth. He let out a sigh of relief as she scurried away, the male now met with anticipation as he waited patiently for his friend to show. 

­­­­He was incredibly excited to get to try this new restaurant. He was also incredibly excited to see Hoseok. Most of all, Sangmin was excited to get to try this new restaurant with Hoseok.

Sangmin tries his absolute best to make it there on time, but as always, Sangmin is late. About ten minutes late. A whole ten minutes because he couldn’t figure out how the shower in his apartment works even though he has lived there for years. A whole ten minutes because he put his shirt on backwards and realized after he made it out the door. A whole ten minutes late.

He makes it there, and that’s really what matters the most, right? He tries to look around the henhouse for Hoseok, but ends up asking about where his friend is. Sure enough, the person running the front of the restaurant directs him to where he needed to be ten minutes ago.

He sits down with a firm plop in his seat across from Hoseok, and spreads out in his seat to a really comfortable position.

“Hey man, sorry I’m late. Didn’t leave you waiting too long, right?”

“…‘Moot’?” she questioned, a bubbly laugh spilling out past her lips just a mere moment after. “Oh, you’re not an employee here? How on Earth did you end up getting caught up in this?” 

The bright smile on the girl’s face faded slightly as she glanced over her shoulder, glad to find that her Sire had slunk off back inside.

“I mean, um… Yeah, I’m supposed to learn about being a bouncer…”

“Huh, an interesting thing to be doing for someone who doesn’t even work here.” He lets out a deep laugh and lays his hand on her shoulder. “My boss over at Heaven’s gate said you guys were short and sent me to help out.”

He removes his hand from her shoulder and instead crosses his arms in front of his chest.

“I can show you the ropes. Hopefully tonight won’t get too crazy.” He turns to keep track of the door and carefully watch the people who were entering the club as he speaks. “First thing, watch out for people who are already blasted before they come into the club. They’ll be more likely to start fights and mess with talent. Here, you should stand at the other side of the entry. Be sure that any of the baby faced people are definitely the right age to be here too. Sure your boss doesn’t want that trouble.”

More than one vampire was crumpled on the ground now, and with a gasp she realized they were dead. Quick and easy, just like that. Her eye widen as she saw the flashing of metal as her savior attacked the vampires viciously. As if wanted to secure the kill quickly, the vampire who had her pinned pressed his fangs against her neck and had just barely drawn blood when he pulled away suddenly. The last of his comrades were down, smoldering on the ground. Jieun let out a soft gasp as her savior and her final attacker squared up. She didn’t even notice the blood trickling down her neck as she watched transfixed. She wanted to help, but she was frozen. What could she do?

He was clearly adept at handling it himself. And he couldn’t be much older than she was.

“Please,” she whispered to the sky.

After knocking the other vampires out, Sangmin only has one more to take out. This one looks a lot stronger than the others though. As he turns away from the woman he had pinned to the wall, Sangmin realizes this is going to be a little bit tougher.

Sangmin lowers himself into a proper stance as the vampire approaches at a fairly normal pace. It only takes a split second for the vampire to strike, however. His hammers are too slow to hit their desired target. Instead of meeting flesh, they only kiss the air as his opponent dodges deftly around him. A few more swings and misses, and the vampire goes in for a slash to the midsection with his hardened and very sharp nails. Sangmin’s defenses fail, and where he would normally have some sort of protection, there is only a tee shirt, which becomes stained red quickly.

A few more slashes get through before Sangmin catches on to his pattern and slams his hand with a burning silver hammer. The vampire lets out a noise of pain, somewhere between a squeal and a grunt, and slams him to the ground, Sangmin’s hammers flying out of his hands and landing close to the woman frozen in the back of the alley.

Blow after blow, the vampire unleashes a swift flurry of punches, shielded from Sangmin’s face only by the power of his forearms, which can only resist so many supernaturally enhanced punches.

Pinned by his opponent’s weight, the vampire knows he is at an advantage. With a swift motion, Sangmin’s block is broken. The vampire says something condescending about how he shouldn’t have interfered or how it wasn’t his business or whatever, and Sangmin takes the moment of distraction that he didn’t pay any attention to, to attempt to dislodge his third hidden hammer, trusty Hilde who gives him extra help at work, from his left boot.

Once it is in his hand, the vampire decides his moment of talking and having power over this human is over. He leans in and attempts to drain Sangmin of his sanguine treasure.

His fangs find blood before Sangmin can quite hit him, but shortly after the draining begins it ends. The vampire is knocked from on top of him, and Sangmin takes this opportunity to keep wailing on him, ensuring that he will never be able to do that again.

With a bit of bloodsplatter on him, and a lot of anger at actually having been bitten, Sangmin leans himself up against a wall of the alleyway. His palm is pressed over his neck bite to try and keep it from bleeding much longer. His other hand is over his eyes and holding his temples, for he is sure to have quite a headache after all of this and tonight’s shift.

With a sigh he acknowledges the woman at still in the alleyway with him.

“He didn’t hurt you did he?”

He splutters a quiet laugh, it’s a huff of breath with his lips parted and he covers his smile with a hand, reserved and controlled he kept his gaze trained ahead “ hammer-oh God, what are you, Thor? Actually, don’t answer that. Then again he does have way better hair than you. No offense it’s just” he shrugs and passes him a look “ facts. ” His eyes dart back to watch the way  they were going in. The night was awfully calm, it almost lulled him into a sense of safety and serenity.

“What? Thor’s got nothing on me and my rougish good looks.” Sangmin combs his fingers through his hair and laughs a bit. “And while Myollnoll or whatever Thor’s hammers name is cool, mine are better and confirmed very effective.” He nods with a pride that exists only for his sterling silver hammers.

Sangmin’s pace continues the same as he thinks about his ‘missions’ he has had in this area. Successful or not, he’s mostly taken on the vampire coven here. A few of them have escaped him, and enough of them haven’t.

“Nah man the alpha of this pack is really cool. Pretty willing to let us roam around and patrol which is better than going and patrolling an area controlled by people who don’t. I’ve fought with the vamps in this area a couple of times though. And with my experiences, they are more likely to kill you at any time than the weres of this area who are only a huge danger around full and new moons. I haven’t had anything bad happen with this pack. But the Vampires of this area? Feisty.”

His mind wandered to the current feud between the supernaturals of this area. His hand moves to set on one of his hammers belted to his thigh.

“Shoot, if the were-pack needs a bit of extra help round here… I’ve gotta couple scores to settle.” Sangmin punctuates this with a small chuckle, as they continue on.

“That’s pretty sweet of you to offer, but are you sure you won’t be too worn out by then? Can you even hold me now, before I beat your ass up?” He quirked an eyebrow, challenging the man. They may have been friends, but he still intended to give Sangmin a hard time, and he expected no less of the other. Himchan stole a step backwards, making a show by cracking the knuckles of both of his hands. “We should probably stretch first. I wouldn’t want you to get a cramp now would I? I am not the only one getting up there in age.”

Sangmin felt a bit of an odd chill as Himchan’s hand hit his back in the familiar pat they usually greeted each other with. His natural senses kick in warning him of something, but his brain is too slow to catch it and register it entirely.

“I know you haven’t grown taller right? Something’s different.”

It had been a few years, so of course he changed. He has different hair so that might be it? And he’s never seen that shirt so surely things have changed.  Subconsciously Sangmin cracks his knuckles too, following the manly strong suit set by Himchan.

“Even if you’ve grown old or whatever I’m able to lift you…. Oppa.”

A shit eating grin graces Sangmin’s face as he utters out the last word. That’s gotta get to him.

“Gotta raise you up after I beat you down.”

Stretching wasn’t a thing that Sangmin considered but now that it’s mentioned… It’s a good idea. It’s also a good way to size him up. He slowly and surely stretches and flexes his arms to show Himchan just what he’s facing off against here, and takes in what he can learn from the other’s stretches. He doesn’t forget to stretch the hammies or his abdominals this time, and he feels really good going into this. After a few minutes Sangmin is brimming with excitement, though he tries to pass it off as being tough.

“Can we get on with it? Stretching more than needed just delays my fists in your gut.”

Just about 6PM. Man it’s been a while.

A warehouse that had been closed down for at least as long as Sangmin and Himchan knew each other. It was looking a bit more… Overgrown than it was previously. He could even see an area where the roof had caved in. The entrance they had always used was a place where the warehouse had received shipments and loaded trucks. The door had rusted through and was about entirely gone now save for the rusty scraps strewn through the area.

Huh. This is different.

Sangmin strolled into the old rundown place right on time. Seems he’s still later than Himchan though. His old friend was already there waiting for him.

“Hey, Himchan! You ready to Rumble? I’ll be the one holding you bridal style during the sunset.”

That came out less intimidating than he intended.

Yeeun didn’t need instruction to understand to follow when her Sire stood up and lead her towards the entrance of the club. Indeed, there was someone on the door already, though Yeeun couldn’t say that she recognised him from anywhere. Perhaps not even a bouncer from the club itself? “Hello…?” she inquired, approaching the man slowly. – She had no idea what he was, nor how dangerous he could be. “Are you the bouncer standing in for someone today? I’m supposed to be getting trained, kinda…” 

It was weird for the owner of Heaven’s Gate to send him to help out another club. A friend of her who worked there had something urgent and needed someone to cover his ass. When he got there, one of the bartenders told him to go ahead and take the door. Just make sure no one messes with the talent they said. That’s what a bouncer does, of course that’s his job.

He’d gotten weird vibes from a couple of people already but didn’t really know what the composition of the club was. They might have just been a couple of Weres coming to work a knot out, and they get a few of those at Heaven’s Gate so he didn’t feel the need to do anything yet. Open hostility. Touching the talent. Already super drunk people. Those are the things to watch for tonight. It’ll be boring though.

He heaved a sigh just as a gentle voice comes from behind him. He turns and is a bit surprised that he’s supposed to be training this person. He doesn’t even work here regularly. He behind her to see a man behind her who looks really official. He’s probably the owner of the club. He answers her as straightforward as he possibly could.

“Ah yeah. My boss over at Heaven’s Gate sent me to fill in. Said a guy of yours had something important to do or somethin.”

He scratches his chin absentmindedly as he continues.

“You a new bouncer here? I can show you what I know, but I work at a Fae club so some of it might be a bit moot for you. Either way it’s easier to bounce for a club with more people.”

“Simple stuff tonight–isn’t this area of the city known to be dominated by a Werewolf pack?” he wonders out loud, walking at an arm’s distance by Sangmin’s side, Mingyu threw him an apprehensive look.  There was news of trouble brewing between a vampire clan and the werewolf territory they were moving through. Good thing the Alpha had approved of their presence as long as neither of them displayed hostility first. “Are you–are you going to be okay?” he had hoped he could ask the question less vaguely but mingyudidnt want to straight up ask what Sangmin’s problem with vampires was.

Today isn’t the first time out with the new Aequitas guy, Mingyu. It’s a simple patrol. Gotta make those connections in the guild, connections save you when you need it. He’s been pretty quiet this whole time though. Which is strange considering he thought he’d hit it off with him pretty well. He might be one of those guys who needs more than a couple of patrols to really settle in with someone.

Their scattered and short conversations came and went. Nothing serious, just small talk. Out of the blue a serious question managed to surprise Sangmin. It takes a couple of seconds for him to completely process the weight of the question.

“Huh?”

Am I going to be okay? I’m not injured right? I should be okay?

“Yeah, this is one of the larger packs’ area. We’re far from a full moon so I don’t think we have to worry about any of them? The vampires though, they don’t have a schedule.”

Sangmin takes a look at his companion, confusion still somewhere on his face.

“And while this area has a large pack of Weres, it also has a pretty big nest of Vamps. We just have to be wary if we run into them tonight.”

His fingers quirk into a finger-gun pose and a smirk hits his lips.

“Don’t worry though Gyu. If anything happens I’ll protect ya. My trusty silver hammers won’t fail us.”

He laughs a bit at his own joke as they continue on.

Couldn’t Chair Less

When he looks at the tray, the charred discs that he thinks were supposed to be cookies look less like baked goods and more like the lumps of coal he and Sangmin got in their stockings that one Christmas.

“Honey…….were these cookies…cold and kind of squishy when you got them? …Or were they kind of already a little bit more…solid?”

Sangmin had been lounging in his blanket for only a couple of minutes before Takuya rounds the corner running. Takuya’s bare feet pounding against the tile really startles him more than he’d ever admit. The sound of the oven slamming open once again startles him into a standing position. The most startling thing here has to be that Takuya is dripping wet and in nothing but a towel.

After that second of distraction and moving himself into the kitchen, Sangmin processes the words that came out of his best friend’s mouth. Surely Sangmin knows how to make cookies. Surely his bro wouldn’t question his baking abilities?

“They weren’t cold. And they were about as squishy as your abs. Why.”

His statement was punctuated by a solid jab into his bro’s damp and water droplet riddled abdomen. Soon enough he processes the distinctly not correct cookies on the pan that had been removed from the oven.  The smell of burnt baked goods hits his nostrils and his face twists into a grimace of disgust.

“Oh. That’s why. Those aren’t right. What the heck?”

His grimace of disgust turns to one of pure confusion. And then he realizes that Takuya was right to question his baking abilities. He distracts himself from his disappointment over the lack of cookies by poking fun at his nearly nude roomie.

“You really should put some clothes on, man. What if you dropped that pan onto your bare nipples? A shirt would protect them.”

How long have you been rping?

Since obscura opened. Haechul was my first muse.

Do you write outside of rp?

Sometimes. I work with Bun, who tends to do more writing.

Which days/times do you get the most writing done?

Any day, at night.

If your muse(s) could describe you in a few words, what would they say?

 Haechul would say: This one thinks they’re funny.”

Sangmin would say: “This kid definitely exists.”

What is the most wicked thing you could imagine your character doing?

Haechul? Think killing joke. If he went mad, he would really suck. 

Sangmin? Killing his best friend if he found out he was a vampire. There would be immense regret. And that will never happen i would cry and so would el.

If your muse(s) were real, would you fight them?

Abso-fuckin-lutely. They should ready their fists.

What object would you erase from existence if given the opportunity?

Object is difficult. I can think of many concepts and creatures i want nothing to do with but not many objects. 

If you had a billion dollars and could only spend it, what would you buy first?

A house. An affordabe and roomy enough house. I just want to live.

If you could play any sport, what would it be?

I like badminton.

Do you have any fun hobbies or talents you’d like to share?

I draw a lot. That’s my passion and career. Hobbies outside of that include sewing lolita dresses, punching my friends gently, and wearing articles of clothing that denote me as the father among my friends.

Do you have/want any pets?

I have a dog, but she belongs to my parents. There’s a cat that Bun and Cdra’s mom has that I want to adopt. he has tiny feets and deep manly meows. his name is ty and he is a pointy boy.
