Dean is so so obvious about Cas that a lot of his opinions aren't secret at all; Cas's lone wolfing is him being stupid (because he doesn't let Dean help and gets himself hurt which Dean hates). Cas is a weird dorky little guy and also devastatingly handsome. Cas is his best friend, his family, and he will never give up on him even if everyone else has. If Cas dies he will take the next opportunity to enact his princess of suicide routine. All things that are just open knowledge.

Not really an opinion but maybe something he just keeps to himself but I think him putting Cas in little outfits and making him do things for him is his way of testing to see what Cas will allow from him? If that makes sense. And not in a 'how much can I humiliate this guy' kind of way, but a, how much can I affect this guy and he'll let me. Which is a particular fascination because angels, and especially Cas in the earlier seasons, present themselves as so unflappable. I think Dean likes 'ruffling his feathers' so to speak, and he likes that Cas let's him do that. This goes for Cas letting himself be moved/stopped by Dean even though they both know Cas is much stronger than him, and Cas letting Dean go through his pockets and rearrange his tie etc. But again, Dean is so obvious about Cas the only person who hasn't picked up on this is probably Sam.
