got absolutely roasted on twitter a bit ago for saying that dean (pretty obviously) shot his shot with cas like 3 times in season five and cas proceeded to kiss, sleep with, and talk about dating women straight for like 5 seasons. (like im not blaming cas and dean certainly encouraged him sometimes.)

someone even blamed dean for cas sleeping with reaper april cause they had mentally retconned it to occurring after dean told cas he couldn't stay in the bunker.

but to be clear cas has flirted with, talked about flirting with, and kissed about the same (actually slightly more) women in front of dean than the reverse. and i know because i kept track and as often as dean talks about women in general, it is NOTABLE that he does so much less frequently in front of cas!

this is an actual scene that happens in the show (10.03)

i can't stop thinking about a destiel But I'm A Cheerleader au, with cas as megan and dean as graham...

i'm thinking cas is human but monsters are real. there's some sort of monster or ghost killing people at a conversion camp, and john sends dean undercover to handle it solo. dean is the openly queer loner who isn't taking any of this seriously (he smokes and he's got graham's fuckboy necklace), and cas is the good christian boy in denial about his sexuality. they start out annoyed by each other, but after cas sees something supernatural he starts helping with the hunt, and that's how they start growing close. they end up falling in love and solving the case and getting the camp shut down. and of course they stick together as hunting partners and boyfriends afterwards!

I always crack up when people imply that repressed Cas isn't canon. Guys. What show did y'all watch lol. He was literally physically forced to repress himself through sheer torture not to mention all the times Heaven makes it so so clear that he is nothing but a soldier.

Uk vat I get repressed cas sooo much. Ofc he doesn't know that dean is in love with him. Even though he knows he's so loved by him. Like. Dean is just that kinda guy. He's so loving and free and giving with it. He's warm to whoever is near and dear. How the hell is Cas, an eldrich being barely learning how to be a person stilll....supposed to not only hope for but believe that Dean might love him like That.

When ur starved for warmth and touch and for so long, how are you supposed to realise when someone is giving it to you in a different, special way, when they're just naturally open and burning bright like that. Sigh. I-
