꒰ alexander royal greenbriar ꒱ but don’t call him alexander; he doesn’t like it, it reminds him of his parents home ♥︎

• introverted, hot-headed and a real overthinker, alex was born in may 29, 2004 and raised in burlington, vermont, but also spent much of his childhood traveling back and forth to his family’s country house in the countryside. being raised in a family of generational heirs, he always had great living conditions and was a sweet, calm child; his favorite activities were horse riding and climbing trees — he even has a scar on his left thigh from when he fell from a tree.

• although he says he had a peaceful and fun childhood, it wasn’t quite like that in the reality. he always felt he should be better than everyone around him and like his father wanted him to be. alex didn’t say it affected him as a child, but it started to affect him during his teenage years when he was constantly compared to catherine and benjamin, his older siblings, and being ridiculed and questioned by his father, who expected him to exceed expectations beyond the common level for a teenager. this made him become a more closed person as he put up his walls to prevent anyone from seeing through him — afraid that they might see some vulnerability and attack him with it like his father did. his temperament also changed a lot and instead of being calm as he used to be, alex became more of an impatient, perfectionist, insecure and anxious adult.

• the first chance he got, he planned out exactly what he was going to do as soon as he graduated from high school, and he did it. he moved from vermont to massachusetts on his own to begin his studies at harvard, but not with the intention of becoming a follower of his family of medical doctors. alex was a little bolder and chose biomedical engineering as his path, much to the dismay of his father who always felt in control of all of his children. currently, the relationship between him and his family doesn’t seem good, though he receives and answers calls from his mother and siblings sometimes, he doesn’t talk about his father and doesn’t have much contact with him, always becoming emotionally volatile when having to deal with it.

• he has difficulty showing his more vulnerable feelings, such as sadness or affection; he seems very indifferent at times, but feels guilty when this is pointed out, he doesn’t realize that he’s cold in his relationships and doesn’t understand how he could change that — despite this, alex cares about his family and people close to him, but the way he demonstrates this can be confusing. as an observant and overthinker, he often observes people and their behaviors to try to silence his own thoughts. even though he has proven himself to be a capable person, he still has a lot of trouble believing in himself and constantly suffers with his fear of failure; therefore, his studies are the priority in his life, not his social life or anything else, always his studies and the path he chose for himself.

♥︎! he’s clearly a person who really likes animals; since moving to cambridge, massachusetts a year ago, he has been donating to animal shelters. even so, he never adopted any pet, why? because pets need to live in a place where they receive quality care and attention. he doesn’t want a pet until he can give it all his attention. ♥︎! he’s allergic to strawberries. luckily it’s not fatal, but the sensation he feels in his body when he accidentally eats something with it is uncomfortable and painful. ♥︎! he’s nearsighted and has worn glasses since he was eight, he can’t go very long without them. he also hates contact lenses because they make his eyes water a lot. ♥︎! he still talks to his siblings from time to time, but it’s not something that happens often, it happens more when one of them gets in touch to see how he’s doing. ♥︎! alex hates loud noises and shouting, so he also hates parties, crowds, and anything that includes those things. ♥︎! although he hates loud noises, he likes to listen to music with his headphones when he’s cleaning things. he enjoys rock music a lot, especially led zeppelin, the beatles, bon jovi and billy joel. ♥︎! mess is definitely not something that suits him; alex feels distressed when he sees messy things, and that’s why his place is really tidy. he likes to keep his things organized in a specific way and he hates it when people go through his things and make them disorganized.

♥︎! he doesn’t like spending a lot of time on his phone and likes social media even less; he even receives texts, but he takes hours to view and reply to it. ♥︎! he used to draw a lot when he was younger and even though he still enjoys it, he doesn’t feel inspired enough, he just makes a few sketches here and there and keeps them stored in a box that he doesn’t let anyone touch. ♥︎! when he was a kid, he thought he could be a football player, but after playing a few times, he realized he really hated running and the smell of sweat. despite this, he enjoys watching football and hockey matches. ♥︎! he doesn’t see himself as a great cook, but he knows how to do the basics and tries not to take too many risks with fancy recipes or weird seasonings. ♥︎! alex is a somniloquist: he often talks in his sleep and sometimes wakes up to the sound of his own voice. ♥︎! he spent much of his childhood and teenage years in his family’s country house and because of that he enjoys being in contact with nature and finds comfort in the smell of wet grass during a rainstorm — he really loves it. ♥︎! he likes neutral colors for everything in his life. black, white, beige or gray are his options for everything, from clothes to furniture, he’s not a big fan of colorful things.
