DFD: Castle
[as of 20/03/2025 - so it might change. I could add more if I need it for the story]
What is it?
It's a network of collaborators that help keep the Lake in check. They are also tasked with some things Angler doesn't trust the Fishes to do.
Structure:
One person:
Castellan (Roger) – Governor of the Castle. He oversees the activity of the Castle and makes arrangements whenever the Lake is needed.
Chamberlain (Watari) – Official in charge of managing the activity of the Lake from an operational point. He makes sure that they can act whenever needed and deals with their payments.
Knight Commander / KC – High-ranking officer that is in charge of The Fence. Only Angler, Chamberlain, Master of Archers, The Inquisitor and [REDACTED] can make direct contact with them.
Master of Archers (Maeve Archer by @stardust-in-your-eyes) / MA – protects Angler's cabin in England. If something's off in the Lake, she is the first one to direct the Archers in checking on the Fishes.
Bastion – protects The Chapel and [REDACTED].
Gates – accompanies the Fishes whenever they work with Angler.
Keep – [REDACTED].
Scribe – [REDACTED].
The Inquisitor (Rie by @lawlietscaramels) – studies the Lake's activity to inform Castellan if there are some possible instances of heresy and gives advice to Angler on how to deal with heretics. She also follows and analyses KC's movements, since he's in The Chapel too.
The Plague-Bearer (K by @nic0-r0bs) – She is in charge of the arrangements made for the disposal of the body of those killed by The Fence. Mainly if they are SB-ed, because it means they are high-risk targets for the Castle that need to disappear completely. She is an Omen of Death, basically. She makes sure the target is not seen by others, gets the Scullery to the scene, and the disposal itself is done by Fishes.
Wise-Woman – deals with the Castle's mental problems, especially KC and Angler's.
Groups:
The Fence – made up of Archers. They can be short-bow (short range), long-bow (moving, long-range), crossbow (stationary, long-range).
Barbers – Medical unit.
Scullery – Cleaning unit, tasked with removing Angler's traces from where she stays temporarily, the body of the targets killed and the remaining trace on the scene (e.g. blood).
The Secret Passageway – Technology unit.
"Place":
The Chapel – contains all the information regarding the Lake.
The Crypts – contains all information regarding the Castle. Only Angler and [redacted] have access to this.
when i forget for a moment why I am even writing Mazzaroth but then come across the lying monster speech I based Ethe off, just so she can haunt L for sport:
Lying monsters are a real nuisance. -> lying is the only thing she knows. she lies about what she thinks, what she feels, what she can do and wants to do. she lies to others, to the reader, to herself. her whole life is built on a lie too, so she is a byproduct of lying. lying is intrinsic to who she is.
They are much more cunning than other monsters. -> she is the only monster L has never figured out how to really catch. there's never any evidence of her crimes, while there are many crimes that she is the only one who could have committed.
They pose as humans, even though they have no understanding of the human heart. -> Ethe never actually feels most emotions. she has a set of emotions she feels intensely like anger, sadness and obsession, but outside of that is always, "this happened and i should feel this BUT [tangent about something else entirely that shouldn't have stopped her from feeling those emotions]". she's like trying to justify her inability by focusing on something cold and logical. and she overanalyses others' reactions but never to understand them, but to fit her narrow view of what the truth should be, like "this happened to X and X is showing to be feeling this but given this and that, i believe that not to be a true reaction and they must be actually feeling this".
They eat, even though they've never experienced hunger. -> Ethe doesn't know what eating is just for the sake of nourishing her body. eating was a struggle and a fight for survival in her home (literally turned into a dead drop kid by her father without her knowledge just to get a little of food, while she thought she was just stealing it), so to her, eating must have some sort of deeper meaning. at the Wammy's, food is always present, so she ties lunch to her own meaning. she even waits two hours for Ayla and Rae, after lunch was done and the food had turned cold, just so she wouldn't feel meaningless.
They study even though the have no interest in academics. -> Ethe never learns for the sake of advancing grades. she doesn't even learn the curriculum given by Wammy's, but she does study topics just because people around her mentioned them. in part, it's to understand them (she reads a 600-page-long book about the problems in the american judicial system because she saw L get it, without even knowing that L didn't even open it but used to raise his computer to eye level but it wasn't enough) or to show her affection.
They seek friendship even though they do not know how to love. -> she never loves people. she obsesses over them. and that obsession turns deadly, even if it comes from a "good place" aka actually caring for them and their well-being, protecting and defending them, even if in very fucked up ways, but that turns often into ownership over their life. she thinks she knows what's best for them. and sometimes the best is death.
If I were to encounter such a monster, I would likely be eaten by it... -> Ethe manages to trick L into believing that, after 4 years of constant bickering, whatever he did for her was enough to gain her friendship, while she spent that same year planning a revange which consists of making him live her life. making him experience the emotions she experienced, even in a worse form, like A's suicide... she could've saved him. B knowingly stopped her from doing it (he was mad at L for other reasons), but she is not one to listen and could've called for help, but she didn't. she chose not cuz they chose to make it up to him in the future and not make sure he was in the future. and L didn't really get what was going on until it was too late and she was gone, after doing the unthinkable.
because, in truth, I am that monster. -> and i guess L blames himself for never understanding her. thinking that the friendship he tried to have with her was all performative. i do like the idea of him feeling guilty for not having saved and stopped her in time. so much pain because she was always out of reach, even though she was right there. he failed to understand her, to connect with her and to spare Ethe herself and others from her.

[Fun fact: There's a piece called "VII. Ethelinda" by Short Story Collective that I think describes her perfectly. Same name, so that was destiny.]
NATIONALITY: Scottish.
BIRTHDAY (self-decided): 4 September 1979.
AGE: 9 (1988).
GRADE: 3.
INTEREST: Journalism.
CHARACTER: She's the main character of Mazzaroth. Everything is written from her point of view. She's not really a good child. She lies, she schemes, she gets into arguments, especially with L, since he came around. She changes her mind easily and struggles to have healthy attachments to everyone. She's unintentionally very mean and insensitive, but sometimes she's extremely intentional with it. She had such a bad accident with Set, a few weeks after she came to the Wammy's, that a child psychologist had to be called, which didn't really help. She has just learned to behave "normally". She really hates adults, bugs, Roger and uncleanness. She is quite solitary and doesn't really like talking. She overthinks everything. Her self-proclaimed life purpose is to destroy L. She's very self-preserving, but not the kind that hides – the kind that hunts. She has her own routines to follow, especially regarding lunch.
BACKSTORY: Her father worked as a made man/uomo d'onore for a mafia group in Scotland: he would get the drugs and pass them to drug dealers. He would then get the payments and report everything to the “capodecina”, who would report it to the underboss and so on. He had to make sure that the drug dealers would sell everything in time, otherwise not only he would have to punish them (by hurting them or their family. If they failed multiple times to reach the amount of money needed, they would also get killed) but he himself would also get punished or wouldn’t get any money. He wasn’t the nicest man alive. He took his role very seriously. Her mother worked too, but just counting the money and keeping everything in order. However, after Ethe was born, things got complicated for her, she stopped doing her task, and she became abusive towards Ethe, while her father was just neglectful. Most of the things Ethe does are things she has learnt from watching his father talk to/interact with the drug dealers and capodecina. Fortunately, there was Aethel – alias of a drug dealer - who noticed her and would take care of her by paying her father to do that. His father was exploiting his kindness, but he wouldn't even care if he was paying him to sexually abuse her. Aethel taught her how to read and write and would bring her food, so she wouldn't starve to death. He was the one who travelled miles just to find her an orphanage, and he came across Wammy's. He convinced Watari to take her in, but the day that that was supposed to happen it was also the day the police finally got convinced to raid her house. Her parents tried to run away but got caught, while Aethel remained, trying to get her out of the room, but she didn't, and Aethel got stopped by the police. She then stayed one month with Watari, while the police worked on her case (she didn’t give any statement) and doctors took care of her wounds/injuries/health.
ALIAS BACKSTORY: Aethel -> Ethel + a -> Ethelinda.
RELATIONS:
Watari: Watari came to collect her under the request of Aethel. She constantly changes her mind about him – she wants his attention one day and then hates him the other, especially when he seems to side with L and not her. She really likes to point out the fact that he's old, and maybe that's why he does things that hurt her. She can't help but crave his love and attention. Watari does kind of favours her or at least, he is not as strict with her as Roger would want to.
Roger: They don't like each other. Roger tried to kick her out of the Wammy's, based on her supposed dangerousness for the other kids. He teaches Grade 3, so they both have to deal with the other's presence. Roger doesn't like her also because she "hoped" his bug collection would burn, which he thinks will absolutely happen one day.
L (9): The whole story is her just hating him. L thinks there's an underlying challenge between them, about who first finds the real name of the other, but that's against the rules. It's implied though that she did check his file, so she already knows. She is not for fair challenges. She will overpower him, no matter what. She did also threaten him that she will chop his neck off, which was a common threat of her father. L thinks she's just exaggerating, but, unfortunately for him, she was diagnosed with conduct disorder. Watari thinks the child psychologist is wrong and can't tell apart coping mechanisms from actual antisocial behaviour. [Song: "The Winner Takes It All" by Abba]
Ayla (8): Her first best friend. They became best friends only because Ayla liked her bald head (she had to shave her hair because it was so bad). Ethelinda will do anything for her. Literally. She destroyed all the chains of the bicycles, only because some kids were rude to her and told her she can't ride them. If she can't use them, no one should. That's basically her logic for everything regarding Ayla. She is still a kid in 1988, but she would kill for her in a heartbeat. She is a bit obsessed with her. She thinks she doesn't need new friends, especially L, because there's nothing that he or others have that she can't give her. She helps her wash her hair on her wash day, which is Saturday. Ayla is Ghanian and has curly hair (3B). When Mrs Nkiruka (a black hairdresser from the centre of Winchester) comes around, she observes carefully how she does Ayla's Ghanaian or box braids braids and even tried it out on their dolls. They are bald now, and Ayla is scared that she would end up like them if she lets Ethe try. I could go on, but the gist of it is that there's nothing Ethe won't do for her. She's her favourite person, if you know what I mean. [Song: "Remember You Omnichord" by Trillian]
Rae (10): Her other best friend. Ethe cares about her too, but not to the same degree as Ayla. She can't get the same type of attention from her, so sometimes there's a tension between them. The problem is that Rae tends to correct her behaviour and reprimand her whenever she does something bad, and Ethe doesn't like that at all, because she thinks she's "criticizing" her being and not her act in the moment. She craves her love and attention, and she feels so bad whenever Rae interacts with her other friends. At the same time, she also feels justified to criticize her, like going against her desire of being part of the Apex (the highest grade in the Wammy's). So, they sometimes get in arguments and Rae gives her the silent treatment, that reminds her of her dad, so that doesn't help either. They care about each other, but it's not the healthiest of friendships, but it's not like Ethe has any like that. [Song: "No Time to Die" by Billie Eilish]
Lex (11): She admires him, his kindness, how gentle and caring he is. He is kind of a role model to her. However, he's very passive and quite the bystander, and Ethe knows how to use this. If it weren't for the fact that he tends to make light of every situation, she would threaten him openly. She did sprain his ankle, and it is still unclear if it was intentional or not. He's kind of scared of her, because while he pities her, she gives bad vibes. They are friends, though, and Lex wants her friendship, because he doesn't want to be avoided by anyone, no matter how bad they are. This applies to Set too, despite everything. Ethe unintentionally say a lot of things that hurt him, like telling him he's not good at observing his surroundings or when she pointed out his parents are dead (this hurt so bad that he couldn't look at her for two weeks), but he tries to convince himself that she just doesn't know better, even though it will get increasingly difficult to just ignore that she might not be good by choice. They are weird duo, but they care deeply about each other. [Song: "Be Nice To Me" by The Front Bottoms]
Faust (12): She doesn't like him, becauseLex acts like he hates him. Lex and Faust are best friends and just like messing with each other, but Ethe doesn't see this as fun, but as disrespectful. Faust treats her like he treats all the younger kids – as brats that shouldn't be near him.
Set (13): They hate each other because of the accident. That was the turning point for Set, when he became a full-time bully, but it's different towards Ethe, because he wants her dead, and I don't say this lightly. I mean it. He is the only one who sees Ethe for the person she is and tries to warn the others. However, he also has a conduct disorder, so pot calls the kettle black. He bullies others, controls the younger ones (especially Rell), lies, breaks stuff, cheats – the whole package. He is really good at hiding it and lets other do the dirty job, so he barely suffers any consequences. [Song: "Exit Music (For A Film)" by Radiohead]
Elioenai (13): He's B. She is scared shitless of him, and Elioenai gets a weird vibe from her. He also knows she checked his notebooks, where he writes everything about every member of the Wammy's (his passion), and he hates it. He likes making her paranoid, which is easy, because she is by nature. There's a bit of psychological torture going on. [Song: "Me and The Devil" by Soap&Skin]
Rell (9): She hates him because he shows signs of interest towards Ayla. Rell's opinion of Ethe is influenced by Set's words. So, she's basically Terminator in his eyes.
Simas (10): They are in the same grade and had to work together on the exam to move to the next grade. Something not really clear happened and Simas accused Ethe of sabotaging him. So, he doesn't like her. She is a bit indifferent to him and considers him insignificant unless he wants revenge, but he shows no signs of it.

JESSICA PARKER
OTHER NAMES: Rowan Monday (before getting to the Wammy’s), Elio Foster (at the Wammy’s), D. D. /D for Detective/Dee, Angler NATIONALITY: British & American. Ethnicity wise, she's Irish. BIRTHDAY (the day she was found): 11 December 1978 AGE (supposedly): 25 (2003) POSITION: Special Agent - mainly in the Criminal Investigation Division. However, given that she’s highly skilled and extremely versatile, she is also called to work with other on-field divisions, whenever they are short-handed. She helps other divisions/teams as D. D. or covertly as Angler. RELATIONS: - L: They met at the Wammy’s when she was supposedly 17. Only Dee has any kind of relation to L, because they have a contract that doesn’t allow L to know anything about her other identities. She has forced him to pretend to have never met Elio Foster. Their relationship is quite strained, despite her acting like they are somewhat on a honeymoon while together. - Ludovic: They are roommates since she was 19 (for her own safety). She sees him like a dad and wishes he would never have children, so that he would always only take care of her. She really likes annoying him. She doesn’t get along with his dad (the head of the FBI), while his mother treats her like she is part of the family. When she is with L, he sends her cooking recipes for two. He literally takes a photo of the meals he cooks for his fiancée and types the whole recipe, thinking she would cook it, so she stays healthy. He is extremely anxious whenever she is on any type of missions or with L, because he feels responsible for her safety. - Corky: They are best friends and always work together on all cases. They spend most of their free time together and barely go one day without talking. He’s basically the third roommate, but he doesn’t pay rent and just crashes whenever. They love each other unconditionally, and she finds comfort in his presence, because he manages to make everything seem like it’s going to be okay. They love annoying Ludovic and his father, especially during every cookout of the Mason family. They like making things awkward for them. He doesn’t know how to shut up and Jessica just endorses him. - Flavius: Her mentor. He’s the one who came to collect her from the Wammy’s and looked after her during her time at Quantico, that was a bit longer than the usual. He taught her the job, and she looks up to him, trying to become like him. He favours her all the time - both on cases and social activities not destined to her. They would often go out to drink together after work. She longs for a job like his at the Quantico. - Jad: They get along well. Jad always takes the cases she doesn’t work on or doesn’t have time to even think if she will work on, thinking that he is helping her, but Jessica is just confused. He thinks highly of himself, in a cocky way, but he is also too charismatic to get annoyed at. I would say more, but I would spoil the story. - Naomi: She is the only female friend she has ever had, and it hurt a lot when she left the FBI. They were so close but then started to talk less and less. Now, they just call once in a blue moon to check how things are. Jessica often feels like she is bothering her with those calls, so she just yearns for her friendship in silence. - Watari: They respect each other, but are not very close. Jessica treated him very badly at the Wammy’s House and while Watari harbours no resentment, she feels like she should make up for that. - Mello: She finds him endearing and likes teasing him. Mello acts like he despises her, but actually wants her attention and affection.
CORKY MARLISON (/PÉREZ)
LAST NAME: Pérez is his grandma’s last name, which he deeply cares for. He introduces himself with that name when talking to other people, who will never find out about his actual last name. He planned to change it, but something happened that made him think he’s not worthy of it anymore. NATIONALITY: Dominican & American. Ethnicity wise, he’s also part French. BIRTHDAY: 11 July 1975 AGE: 28 (2003) POSITION: Executive Assistant Director for Science and Technology Branch. He was a Forensic Examiner at the Laboratory Division at Quantico, but was promoted and moved to the FBI HQ. He was supposed to just oversee the work done by three divisions, but has made an agreement to only work on the LD, because he does it very thoroughly and even revisits the evidence sent in, using the lab inside the HQ. He does it at ungodly hours, because he works on multiple cases at once, and between meetings and writing reports, he has little free time. He is a perfectionist. Other than this, he is sometimes sent to Quantico to teach some lessons, whenever the appointed teacher is unavailable. He hates it there. RELATIONS: - Family: His parents are divorced, and they left him with his maternal grandma. He doesn’t know anything about his mother anymore, only that she remarried and has a family somewhere on the west coast. His father moved back to France. They barely talk. His father just sends him marseille soap bars. He loves his grandma and lives with her, taking care of her and all. He has a baby monitor that he uses to make sure she is okay, because she has some health and mobility issues. - Ludovic: He too sees him like some sort of father figure and, while Ludovic acts all annoyed and grumpy whenever he drops by uninvited, he can’t help himself but make sure there’s enough food also for him. Ludovic even switched their couch to a sofa bed just for him, so he has a place to sleep, in case Jessica doesn’t want him in her bed. He’s basically the third roommate, as I said. At the FBI, they don’t usually cross paths, if not in front of the coffee machine and during administrative meetings. Given that Corky works to the point of exhaustion, Ludovic covertly helps him write his reports. - Flavius: They are friends, but not extremely close. They mostly meet when he’s at Quantico, but Flavius doesn’t have a lot of time to spend together. Flavius really likes messing with him, while Corky kind of envies the life he has, because he is pretty much the complete opposite of what he is. They only have in common the awful family situation. Flavius also hates how unhealthy Corky’s lifestyle is, so he tries to help him in this regard. - Jad: They bicker. Jad kind of sees him like a little brother, so he treats him accordingly - he talks about him in the best way ever when with others, but would never admit it to his face. Corky doesn’t understand this kind of attitude, so he just thinks Jad hates him, so that’s why he always tries not to work with him. - Generally: He is a very introverted person that has a difficult time maintaining his friendship with others. Every friend he has made on the job was circumstantial, so when he was moved to the FBI HQ, he basically lost all of them. He became friends with Jessica because an awkward incident, for which he has apologised in writing, with a very beautiful and heartfelt letter. He had a girlfriend for two years, but they ended up breaking up when he was 26, because he didn’t feel ready for the next step, while she couldn’t just keep waiting for him. He also doesn’t realise that he is generally well liked inside the FBI, despite his withdrawn attitude. Newbies at the Quantico think he’s the coolest person ever. He isn’t seen as awkward but as mysterious.
FLAVIUS DRAVEN
NATIONALITY: American with Scottish heritage, but he doesn't know jack shit about Scotland and honestly, he doesn't care. BIRTHDAY: 17 September 19XX AGE: Mid-late 30s (2003) POSITION: He was a Special Agent in Charge for a while, but after training Jessica, he decided to move to the New Agents Training Unit at Quantico. It’s his calling. He still has some Special Agent responsibilities, whenever there is a job that no one else is able to or is about cases he worked in the past. RELATIONS: - Family: He cut all contacts with him, because they didn’t accept him, when he came out as gay. He is virtually dead to them, and he doesn’t know and doesn’t want to know anything about them anymore. He has a little brother, that he still cares a lot about. He was 12, when he cut all contacts, and Flavius doesn’t know if he hates him or not. However, he tries not to think about him at all, even though he can't help himself but visit his school a few times, just to see if he’s doing well. That’s why he also doesn’t care about his Scottish heritage. It comes from his family, that one that hates him. - Jad: Unofficially boyfriends. Flavius hasn’t come out to anyone, even though Ludovic knows it, because of an accident, and Jessica suspects it. They kind of live together in 2003. Flavius avoids as much as possible Jad at the HQ or Quantico, so nobody can find out about them. He feels guilty about hiding, but Jad has no problem with it, because he knows they like each other. Jad is very understanding, and Flavius can’t take his eyes off him. - Ludovic: They respect each other and have known each other for a long time, but they are more coworkers than friends. Just your average coworker relation. They are very honest and open with each other, because they trust one another. In Flavius’ eyes, Ludovic is the perfect employee, with an impeccable work ethic. - Raye: Flavius was his teacher at Quantico. Raye invited him to his weeding. - Generally: One of the most beloved and admired agents and teachers. No one has anything negative about him. They actually think he could’ve been the FBI Head if he had tried, instead of just settling for a job like the one at Quantico, which goes to show how humble he is.
LUDOVIC MASON
NATIONALITY: American. BIRTHDAY: 21 March 19XX AGE: Mid 40s (2003) POSITION: Associate Deputy Director, with an exaggerated love for the HR division and the Office of Public Affairs. He is a nuisance to both, which is fine for the HR division, because it falls under his authority in some way. Not the PA, though. That is not under him, but he just can’t help himself and set up meetings to discuss matters with them. He calls himself the Head of this Office and has rerouted the office phone to direct any calls to him. He is insane, but they let him do it, because he is considered a Nepo Baby inside the FBI, even though he is the complete opposite. RELATIONS: - Family: His parents are still together, but live separately because his mother is outside of D.C. He hates his father - Steve Mason, the Head of the FBI. He doesn’t think there is a time where he hasn't resented him. He clearly remembers that, as a child, he asked his mother why she hasn't divorced him already. The feeling is mutual unfortunately. Steve has always berated and belittled him and his passions. He was also psychically abusive towards him, when Ludovic was a kid. He has no paternal instinct towards him and actively tried to sabotage his attempt at getting in the FBI, while he still wasn’t the Head. Now, all the meetings they have are basically just full of tension, that they try to contain until they are in his office, where they can just go at each other’s throat. Steve also hates Jessica and how Ludovic is protecting her. While Ludovic was a teen, they tried to mend their relation, but it was by going to fish and they came home worse than before. It’s very bad. Ludovic gets along with his mother and tries to be mindful of her position in this mess. He doesn't blame her for being with him, that's what I am saying, because she did try to make peace between them. - Denise: The love of his life. The other half of his soul. They don’t live together, because she works at the Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York, but he always visits her when he has more than 32 hours of free time. He would do anything for her. He proposed to her on the 31st December 2003. - Generally: He honestly doesn’t have much of a social life outside work, taking care of Jessica and Corky, and going to Denise’s house. He isn’t that well liked either inside the FBI. He is too strict, too precise, too demanding. He is also seen as a Nepo Baby, even though it’s completely untrue. He realises that he isn’t that loved and is hurt by that, but he knows he can’t do anything about it. That even goes for his father, to be honest, like he wishes things were okay, but they aren’t and will never be. He cares too much. His habit of sending hundreds of emails to inform people of pretty much everything inside of the FBI is his way of showing it, but everyone thinks he’s just being annoying. He has no way of winning anyone’s heart, unfortunately.
JAD RAHIM
NATIONALITY: American & [redacted] BIRTHDAY: 7 November 19XX AGE: Mid-late 30s (2003) POSITION: Special Agent (Counterterrorism Division) NOTE: I can’t talk too much about him because I would spoil his role in the story. Just know that he’s hot and charismatic and likes messing with Ludovic. Jad is probably one of the few people that likes Ludovic inside the whole FBI, because he knows him, like actually, and respects him. Ludovic thinks Jad is too laid-back, and after [redacted], their relation turns glacial. However, Ludovic doesn’t harbour any resentment, because he thinks he's somewhat responsible.

Alright there's a bunch but lets get into it. They'll get a blurb here, and I'll add hyperlinks as I give them their own posts.
Vampire the Masquerade:
Faith Meade: Backstory | Viewforth by Night: I / II / III Faith is a Sandman Ventrue full of Catholic Guilt™ and Autism™. She's a brand new fledgling who has immediately lost her sire and fallen in with the wrong crowd, notably including her new accidental father figure, a Camarilla Tzimisce. She is not fucking coping, she is not hinged, she is not okay at all, she averages more than one mental breakdown a night. She juggles this, and her highly eventful nightlife, with a successful career as a Sales Trader.
Riccardo "Dino" Rossi: Dino is an Anarch, and a Siren Toreador. He is hot, often accidentally vulgar, and his sire is a creepy piece of shit. Dino thinks he's coping great, by aggressively hyperfocusing on sex and motorcycle racing. He is also an expert (after... a learning process) in managing his sire's emotions, so his unlife has become one of performing as the perfect prized pet. I wanted to make a tragic manwhore, and I was thinking about Gino D'acampo at the time. He has become one of my most beloved characters I've ever played, because when I play Dino, he actually possesses me. I flustered the storyteller more than once. I am not typically smooth.
Kellan Voss: Kellan is my baby boy. He's a Cammie, and a Bagger Nosferatu. He wears a gas mask with tinted lenses, although when he made his debut he was also wearing a bandit mask blue-tacked onto the lenses, rendering him unable to see. The coterie pretty much met because he brought himself, his sire, and a goat to the floor at Elysium, and they came over to help. He's coping by being the class clown and being aggressively extroverted - refusing to give in to any sort of "typical" Nosferatu experience. He is stacking an impressive number of social merits for a fledgling.
Honourable mention: Brendan O'Rourke. I haven't played him yet, but I've been working on him for over a year. He's my Malkavian, but I won't say too much until the details are Final and I've got a chance to play him.
Mage the Ascension
Bonnie Raith-Ballantyne: My most beloved WoD character, Bonnie is everything to me. She's a pretty new orphan, but she's already being pulled unknowingly between Hollow One/Cult of Ecstasy/Order of Hermes. She has SUPER high willpower, and that's the basis of her character: what she wants, she gets. She is pure determination and discipline and effort. Playing her brings me so much joy and I have improved my actual real life since starting her. The storyteller has implied her Avatar has at one point been the Oracle at Delphi.
Changeling the Lost
Alabaster: My only amnesiac character, this bitch remembers escaping a weird garden, being saved from a snake with a babies face by some fucked up scarecrow looking dudes, and waking up in hospital with only the single most infuriating man in the world to explain her situation to her. She only learned anything about who she is by finding it out in real time. She's a chav. She's full of rage. She thinks with her fists. She's protective of women. She's really, really skilled with martial arts? The first woman she met in uptime was a trans woman called Erin and they immediately commit a murder together. She has killed and would die for that tiny anxious woman. She has known her all of two days. She's a Treasured Fairest, she looks like a marble statue, and she's been walking around in a pink crop top that says "Pillow Princess" on it since the murder. She's going to wind up Summer Court, if I get to play her again - the campaign didn't last but it might come back!
Dungeons and Dragons:
Euphoria: My longest running TTRPG character of all time, and the only character who I might play a second time if I get the chance. Euphoria is a pink tiefling bard who was forced to wear uncomfortable molds all her childhood so her horns and tip of her tail would grow into heart shapes. She has tattooed heart freckles. Her clothes, upon starting the character, were all pink with heart details on everything. She was sold into the circus as a baby and brought up almost constantly under Enchantment magic to be obedient. I started her at level 3, and we're now level 22 and in space. I couldn't begin to be succinct about her story, so I won't try. I'm also playing her in my BG3 run and of course she's romancing Astarion. She's a force for chaos and their trauma is so similar.
Ivory "Angel" Darling: Her campaign ended - like, we got to the end of the story, we hit level 20, we saved everyone, it's done and dusted. She's had an epilogue. I think about her always regardless. She's a 16y/o half-elf warlock (she grew up over the campaign tho) from a rich, happy family, and she joined the party to study their tiefling, as she wanted to be a demonologist. Defeating Tiamat was just the cherry on top. She had a checklist - make a career, find a husband, finish this paper - and by god did she finish it. I'm so emotional about the connections between the characters of this campaign and I will talk about her so much more. I named my Elite Dangerous pilot after her. Her son is an NPC in a friends game, two of my friends have been playing her cousins, one of them has played TWO of her cousins. Her family lore is so deep.
Pathfinder
Groz: The bartender NPC from my D&D west march game found life in a pathfinder game with my colleagues. He has half a braincell but he hits things good. He will protect you. He will also decide that bashing a door down is preferable to finding a key, and donate flesh to weird cults because they asked kinda nicely, losing him a finger. I'm probably more likely to talk about him as my D&D NPC rather than as my Pathfinder PC because we've only done 2 sessions of that campaign and it runs SO rarely.
