a little drabble about my ocs Heidi, Jayden, kisses, and nicknames… they’re probably ~17 here, so this takes place before the main story where they’re 19. No major trigger warnings, just a bit of making out and mentions of Heidi’s ableist parents and a past uncomfortable situationship she went through.
893 words.
Heidi liked her girlfriend’s apartment far more than her own house. Jayden’s mother was never home, and unlike Heidi’s parents, she seemed quiet and not keen on arguing. Heidi had never needed her headphones here.
Jayden’s room was wonderful as well - plush, bright, postered, lived in, much unlike the sterile dullness of Heidi’s. She particularly enjoyed the activity they were currently experiencing. Jayden was crisscrossed on her bed, and Heidi, legs wrapped around her midsection, was kissing her, hard. She used to think she was touch adversed, but meeting and dating Jayden had taught her otherwise. It wasn’t the act of being touched, just the people carrying it out she disliked.
Kisses, or, making out, as Heidi supposed this qualified, she actually greatly adored. Lips, tongue, teeth, all welcome stimulants Heidi found herself seeking. Jayden had a habit of humming and whispering sweet nothings into their kisses, a delighted sound that sent pleasurable shivers all through Heidi.
“Oh, yes…” she breathily sighed as Heidi nipped her bottom lip, teeth clicking on Jayden’s dolphin-bite studs. Against her hot mouth, they were deliciously frigid. She began to sway back and forth at the hips - a stim her mother despised but here, Heidi was safe to do what she (and Jayden) liked.
“Heidi, baby…” Heidi froze. Something cold overtook her body, and she pulled back. Baby… she wasn’t a baby. The nickname made her think of Kylee, condescending blue eyes always one glance away from a manipulative suggestion, long fingers always poised to coerce Heidi into some “cute” decision that she didn’t know how to refuse. She felt dirty.
Confused, Jayden tried to lean back in, lips parted. Heidi squirmed, overlapping her fingers over her girlfriend’s mouth. No kissing right now, not when Heidi could feel spider-like fingers brushing her hair and cheeks, giving her goosebumps.
“… shit, Heidi, you alright?”
“mnghh.” Heidi shook her head, hands quivering too badly to sign a proper response.
“Was it me, or something else?” Jayden lifted her hands from Heidi’s hips, trying to gauge if the latter wanted touch.
“Bbhhkh.” Heidi’s mouth struggled around the ‘b’ sound, trying to indicate her discomfort at the nickname. Jayden didn’t seem to understand, but her thick brows furrowed and her dark eyes crinkled as she tried.
I am not a baby. Heidi finally managed to sign, and Jayden’s mouth formed a pretty ‘oh.’
“Heidi, I didn’t mean it that way, I’m really sorry.”
I know. I’m sorry.
“No, no, you don’t have anything to be sorry for. Is it just that nickname, or all nickname you don’t like?” Jayden accentuated the first option with a head tilt right, the second to the left. Heidi titled right.
“Yeah. You definitely aren’t a baby, I don’t know what I was thinking.” Jayden exasperatedly huffed, blowing her straightened bangs off her forehead. It was a little theatrical, and Heidi felt herself loosen a little.
“I’ve got plenty more ideas. Let me know, okay?” She crooned, tentatively placing her hands onto Heidi’s shoulders. Heidi was okay with that. She hummed and rolled the joints under her touch, taking a coil of Jayden’s hair to busy her hands.
“Hei?”
“Ahgk.” Heidi delightedly nodded, studying how the gleaming golden curl slowly transitioned into ebony darkness, like vibrant sun rays hit the surface of a still ocean.
“Honey? Hun?”
“Affh.” Those were good.
“Darling?”
“Mngh.” That one was too posh. Heidi could far too easily imagine the word dripping like poison out of Kylee’s mouth.
“I’ve gotcha.” Jayden adorably pondered for a moment, lifting a hand to scratch Heidi’s short curls. “Princess?”
“Mmmhh.” Maybe.
“Love? Lovely?”
Heidi giddily squawked. She really liked those.
“Alright, I see how it is. Lovebird~” Jayden giggled as Heidi began to pepper her face with kisses. Satisfied with her attempts to cheer her girlfriend up, Jayden melted at Heidi’s lips, trying to anchor her still so she could return a few kisses.
They settled back into rhythm, Jayden even matching Heidi’s sway as she slid pretty nicknames in between Heidi’s lips, through her teeth, breezing down her throat, sending euphoric skips through her heart. Rocking, kissing, holding, Heidi had never felt so fully and entirely adored. She was loved, here in Jayden’s arms, so much more than anywhere else. She wanted college to come, so they could escape together - Heidi’s parents, Kylee, Jayden’s unkind friends, they would all be left and Heidi would be high above them all, holding Jayden’s face, just like this. Breathlessly, clumsily, she bore her soul to Jayden through shaky hands. Jayden grinned, chuckling.
“Y’know, I think we could do it if we tried.”
If only to say you’re mine? Heidi cocked her head.
“Wh- ohhh, like Clairo! Yeah.” Jayden laughed again, wonderful music, and cleared her throat. “I think we could do it if we tr~ied, if only to say youre mine, Sofia know that yo~u and I, shouldn’t feel, like a crime~~”
Heidi hummed affectionately, pushing her forehead into Jayden’s shoulder and gripping her like a koala. Jayden continued singing, tracing hearts into Heidi’s back whilst the latter breathed into her collarbone. Happiness bubbled in her chest, lulling her into sweet drowsiness. Jayden gently pulled the two of them back onto her soft, furry comforter, pressing a goodnight kiss to Heidi’s hair between lyrics, lulling her into the safest sleep she’d never felt anywhere else.
