Just out of curiosity, how is Sabrina doing in the Kwami Swap AU? Does she still receive a Miraculous?
So, after some careful deliberation on Sabrina and her place in this AU, I've gotten some really fun ideas for how she fits into both the miraculous team, and the friendship dynamic between Adrien, Chloe, and Marinette.
The first major change is that Adrien is going into this rebirthed friendship with Chloe with new eyes. Adrien is already kind of "on guard", so to speak, because he's trying to get Chloe to accept Marinette without causing a big fight between the two. So he's already kind of logically analyzing everybodies interactions to try and smooth things out. This, plus him actively listening to Tikki's advice on things as his new friendships progress(she points out that Chloe is a bully to Mari and others, that Chloe is clearly trying to make up for something at home, etc.), leads to Adrien actually seeing Sabrina for the first time.
Not just meeting her, but actually recognizing Sabrina as someone who is both intensely loyal and desperate for a friend, and who isn't getting the kind of heartfelt enthusiasm and appreciation she gives Chloe back. Adrien at this stage of his life does not have many friends. Currently, he has Marinette and Chloe and that's it. And Mari is new, while he hasn't really spent time with Chloe in years.
So seeing up close someone who is this good and loyal of a friend, who is clearly being neglected and left out of most of their ad hoc little groups activities? Well, Adrien simultaneously is going to hit be hit by the conclusions of "That isn't fair, we need to try harder to include Sabrina so she knows we appreciate her." And "I want a friend like Sabrina. I want Sabrina to be my friend and not just a friend's friend.".
Marinette picks up on Adrien trying to include Sabrina more, and pretty quickly realizes that she's just incredibly lonely and that they've been excluding her. She quickly corrects this in true Marinette fashion, by going 1000 times overboard. She learneds Sabrina's favorite everything, through some obvious and some more dubious means. She starts making Sabrina stuff in her favorite colors, baking her her favorite foods, etc.
Chloe is suddenly, for the first time in her life, actually having to compete for Sabrina's attention. And this does actually lead to some soul searching where she realizes she hasn't exactly treated Sabrina the best over the years. She doesn't come out and ever admit this. She doesn't apologize or anything. But suddenly Sabrina's opinion starts to matter. When Sabrina tries to talk and people talk over her, Chloe begins to yell at everyone to shut up so that Sabrina can actually talk. it's a little awkard, and definitely rude, but it's also very Chloe and Sabrina of all people knows this is the closest to a warm hug and an apology that Chloe will ever get. The first time she does it, Sabrina almost cries she's so happy.
Sabrina essentialy gets to be an actual member of the friend group instead of just chloes assistant or an outlier, she starts to become as close to the three as they are begining to be with one another. And since I'm basically certain that after recruiting Chloe they tell her their identities(She's gonna protect Mr. Bug better if she knows he's Adrien, after all), Chloe would absolutely champion giving Sabrina a Miraculous the moment they need more help. And it isn't like the others really disagree. Sabrina is easily the best pick for the fourth holder, and she slots into the team well.
What role does she play? Well, if Marinette is the strategist, then Sabrina is the logistics specialist. She handles the technical thinking. She organizes patrols, manages the teams eventual social media accounts, handles prepping the others for media interviews and hammers home the importance of actually planning out what they will say. She's also the one who eventually manages the groups funds, which mainly come from licensing agreements that Sabrina also sets up, because, as she points out to them, there are some things that money would really help with, and despite chloe being rich, they can't have Chloe just buy everything that their counterparts use because then they'll give themselves away eventually.
Sabrina is practical. She also does things like take down the minutes of their meetings, something they didn't even do before they brought her in. She takes them from "friends in supersuits paling around and grasping at straws" into an organized team. She even starts analyzing people they know for traits that will make a good Holder, for when they pick next.
As for what Miraculous to give her, I am actually giving Sabrina the second half of the Protection Miraculous. In most of my AU's, I use an overhauled kwami power system that I have linked under my false heroes AU(Which i can also link here if that's more helpful), which pairs up all the miraculous and makes them all have 2 abstract concepts/domains they are in charge of/personify. One that they share with another kwami, and one unique to them. Now, there are an odd number of Kwami, so i had to create one of my own. Wayzz ended up not having a good partner for the Protection concept/domain, so I added his partner/other half from the protection domain: Treepee, the Pangolin Kwami, and his Pangolin Miraculous. His Concepts/domains are Protection and Contingency. His Protection based power covers the user in energy scale armor, that works kind of like Wayzz' Shell-ter, only it's single target mobile armor instead of an immobile mutlitarget dome shield. His Contingency power basically lets him set up magical traps that store predertimined actions chosen by the Holder.
I figured that Sabrina's brain and how it works fits the Contingency idea of this really well, because she plans things out very very well and I could see her handling a Trap ability extremely well.
Marinette plans in the moment and has the takedown strategy, but the escape plan that was drafted ahead of time in case they need to run? Sabrina. The individualized plans for each of them if one of their identities are discovered, with sub plans depending on who discovered them? Sabrina. Plans for if everybody gets outed all at once? Sabrina.
On a personal level, Sabrina is both busier than ever, and happier than ever. Chloe told her she did a "good job" for the first time in her life and it felt amazing. Adrien asked her opinion and legitimetly wanted it. Marinette actually remembered what her favorite dessert was from one conversation months ago, and now she gets little treats shaped like cute animals every single day from a person she used to help bully. Sabrina would swear she's being treated like a queen. Adrien and marinette would say they're doing the bare minimum. Chloe would start grumbling about "the dumb girl deserving so much better. Utterly ridiculous that she thinks this is even a tenth of what I owe her-" and then come really close to breaking down about it.
Sooooo.....
Sabrina is doing good! really happy, a bit confused, and very busy! but good.
