fun fact actually wrt that last post about soviet names!!

my (really old at this point!!!) character mels nicknamed xemself that (from melonie) because xe got a kick out of it from learning it from researching names in helping xir best friend cvijeta find a name that ne liked when ne first came out and cvi wanted it to either be a bosniak or armenian name (cvi’s family background is pretty significant to nem and nes last name bedrosian is armenian and cvi’s birthname is bosniak)

i love that 15 year old me who didn’t even know anything about leninism at the time named a scene kid an acronym for “marx, lenin, engels, stalin” dfkgjhkdfjg

@sleepingclimb i’m sorry i know this isnt goth (although i have a lot of vaguely goth ocs so i probably will later!!) but as soon as i saw scene was also listed i just . Needed to capture the essence of mels scene phase sfjkdgkjhdsf i used that one fcking picture as reference

i dont know Why mels is scene in 2017 (or even when i made xir in like 2013...) but its good honestly... xe is eternally still kinda in xir scene phase even as an adult who is a successful structural engineer

maybe i should change how i draw hair in general in my digital style if drawing certain hair textures differently looks out of place idk... bc for example mels's hair is based off of someone i knew irl who im guessing like??? brushed her natural hair into really swoopy bangs and then flat-ironed just her scene kid coontails?? and so it doesnt really capture the volume/texture of her hair to just flat cell shade it and then entirely differently but justicias curls are too tight for me to individually ink but not tight enough for me to just draw the outline of like micahs hair...

the shading on this sucks but i’m just trying to get over art block by drawing my ocs mels and cvijeta.... i’ve been stressed about whether or not to make my style more cartoony recently and i’ve always drawn them more cartoony than other ocs so idk

oooh thinking abt recent art that i like that ive made made me remember last week i was gonna make a bunch of posts abt cvijeta bc i lov nem but i forgot a lot of what i was gonna say except that i always used to not be sure abt the specifics of nes sexuality stuff but i just realized last week it makes so much sense for nem to be both a gay guy and transfem?? also nes polyam and pretty casual abt things in general ne likes a lot of ppl and is open about that and ne doesnt have any long termish sorts of stuff going on atm but nes not opposed to that its just not something thats happened and ne enjoys how things are currently too

also this is making me wanna make more characters in cvi and mels’s universe,,,, or more like . Part Of Universe bc i picture them living in the same universe as micah and isaac but they just . dont really have much of a plot going on but i wanna know what some of cvis currently theoretical partners are like .... also mels is def a lesbian but idk who anyone xe would be with is like??

Crushes: cvi doesnt like Specifics but nes Probably greyro or something?? ne has a lot of people they admire though its just the idea of a Formal Relationship doesnt appeal to nem that much. nes pretty free with showing affection like cheek kisses and hugs though and ne also does find some people attractive though and is ok with casual sex.

10. Favorite music: lots of folk punk and punk, cvis favorite band is probably against me! ne still has some remnants from nes emo phase though …

19. Weapon of choice: omg ….. how about , Giant Pipe like morel from hxh (it also works bc marine hunter and ne loves sea creatures)

20. Role Model: mels is cvijetas best friend but also ne really admires all that she does and accomplishes  and when ne really values her advice in all aspects of life
