Kjerstin Blomkvist

Speaks with an alto voice with a Swedish tinge. Because of her consistent sinus issues, her voice is perpetually congested-sounding and nasal. She might even sound like she's perpetually yawning, but this isn't the case. Unlike Vivica, Kjerstin is a terrible singer.

She's got a long, large straight nose with prominent, wide-set nostrils, so if she looked directly at you, you'd see her nostrils.

Kjerstin sneezes often, and, much like Elizabete (the mayor OC), she doesn't sneeze just once. Unfortunately, her sneezes sound perpetually congested, no matter the circumstance.

"H-hih'GGDZCHH! Hkk'GDZCHHHiu! Hehh'IDZCHHHH'shiu!"

Vivica Baxter

Vivica speaks in a mezzo voice. If she speaks long enough, you can tell she's from Chicago. She has a honeyed, mellifluous voice. Vivica is a good singer, and she's a soprano in a choir.

She has a slightly small bulbous nose with a stud or a ring around her right nostril. It's not shown here, but Vivica also sports a septum piercing. Her nose does have a refined upturned tip.

Vivica doesn't sneeze often, but when she does, it's a dry, raspy double. If Vivica's sick with a cold (which doesn't happen often), her sneezes can get more throaty and harsh-sounding.

"AeH'TSCHOO! Aeeh'SHOO!" Vivica's always sneezing in doubles. If she's sick, her sneezes sound more like "ggGH'IZCHIEW! gGGHDZCHHHIEW!" With a higher pitch at the end.

Hadassah Teixiera-Medeiros

Hadassah speaks with a soprano voice. She has a mellifluous, regulated voice with a bit of a Brazilian accent. She tends to roll her "r's" and pronounce Spanish words using Brazilian vernacular. She is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and German. She is trying her hand at French and Danish.

Hadassah has a pointed nose, much like a cartoon character. Her nose, when you're looking at her, appears to be the kind that looks like a dot when she's facing the center. When she turns her head, her nose is actually larger than it looks.

Hadassah is a photic sneezer, and she'll always sneeze a triple or even a quadruple when she's under the sun. She's also allergic to dust and mold, so she has to keep her quarters clean. Hadassah has a pet cat named Nuno (pronounced NU-NYO), and his fur sometimes clings onto Hadassah's clothes, which might be a problem for Kjerstin, who's allergic to life... and cats. Hadassah's sneezes are high-pitched at the end, but not dad-like.

"Hehh'TSCHIEW! Hihh'TSCHHIEW! Akkt'SCHHIEW!" Hadassah will often fake sneeze and go "a-chhh!" before letting out a "HAHH'CHHIEW!" as needed. She states that it establishes the sneeze before it comes.

Orlaith McGullough "Dr. Gully"

(Please don't judge! Yeah, I did edit the nose here; it should be longer and bigger!)

Orlaith speaks with a breathy Irish accent, and she has a mezzo tone to her voice. Her Irish accent is quite strong, and she argues that rolling her R's causes her nose to tickle.

Orlaith's nose is probably the closest you'll get to a humanized elephant trunk. Her nose is literally the size of a ruler (12 inches long, 6 inches wide), and her nostrils take up the entire nose. Her nostrils flap up, so you'll actually see her nostrils even if she's looking down. Orlaith's nose curves a tad at the tip! It's like a hummingbird's beak!

When Orlaith sneezes, everyone and their grandparents know it. Her sneezes have a somewhat destructive quality to them, and I'll argue they're way, way worse than Metztli's forceful sneezes. When Orlaith knows she has to sneeze, her nostrils will flare like oblong manholes. Her nose is so huge that she'll get something sucked inside it. She's even had a whole pepper shaker up the schnozz and sneezed the entire hall down.

"Hehh'SCHHHOOUgh! Hehh-Hehh'ITSCHHHOUghh! HAhhh'SCHHOOUUUgh!" Her loudest sneeze by far is "HARRR'EDZCHHHHOOOOOUUUUGghh!!" She doesn't spew out flames in her human form. As a Jabberwock, steam coming out of her gigantic nostrils isn't uncommon, however.

Ayame Musoubana

Ayame speaks with a husky, sultry Cockney accent (at all times) and has a more alto tone to her voice. Ayame can talk as if she was born and raised in Ipswich, however.

Ayame's nose and Misaki's nose look heavily similar. Ayame's nose is rather large, but it's on the upturned side with wide, oval nostrils. Sometimes, she'll wear a stud on both nostrils.

As a mafia leader, Ayame's a compulsive stifler. However, when she lets it rip, it's always a rapid-fire fit that sounds dry and cough-like. Ayame shares much of her younger sister's allergies.

"aa'AAEH'SCHHih!-EEH'SCHHH!-AEEH'SCHHH!-AESCHHHihh!" Sometimes, these sneezes in public will sound like "hkk'KxT!-KxshT!-HkKxSht!-KscHT!" If she doesn't sneeze in a prolonged fit, Ayame will have a sneeze that sounds like "aaAEH'DZCHH'iuUH!"

Misaki Musoubana

Misaki, much unlike her older sister, speaks with a nasal but sultry soprano voice. It's a tad annoying if you slap on a Yorkshire accent. Her singing voice is astonishing, though.

Misaki's large nose is straighter at the tip, and her nostrils seem to look like slits in comparison to Ayame's, which look like elongated ovals. Some may compare her nose to a rat's.

Misaki, on the other hand, unapologetically lets loose. She has very poor stifle control, with her stifles sounding like wounded cries. When she does sneeze, it's loud and frequent. While she doesn't fall victim to the rapid-fire fits, her sneezes are almost always hearty and full of spray.

"HehhHHEGHH'SHHEW! HehIIT'SCHHIEW! Hggh'TSCHHEW! Hahh'TSHGhh'HIIIEW!" Her sneezes always end up being high-pitched screamers.

The neon lights of 2100 Los Angeles cast a rainbow halo around the sleek, black RV as it rumbled through the city's bustling streets. Inside, a cacophony of giggles and laughter filled the space as the members of ZyxKyx, an avant-garde idol group, prepared for their most anticipated concert yet. At the center of it all, the elegance and arrogance of their leader, Misaki Musoubana, shimmered like a star amidst a sea of glitter and chaos. With waist-length hair that danced between black and blue and piercing blue-green eyes framed by thick, dark lashes, she was a vision of ethereal beauty that belied her true age—a staggering 125 years. Yet, her celestial physiology kept her looking a perpetual 30, a secret she guarded fiercely with a sass that could cut diamond.

Misaki's eyes narrowed as she took in the concert hall, her nose twitching at the sweet scent that hung heavy in the air. "What in the seven heavens is this?" she bellowed, pointing an angry, bejeweled finger at the stage. "Flowers! Did we not specify a serpentine motif for tonight?"

A meek voice from behind, Tsukiko Yamaguchi, chimed in. "Yeah, we… did…" Tsukiko looked at Junko, a sharp-eyed woman with medium-length red-dyed hair. "Junko, uhh… did something happen? Where are the snakes?"

"The director of the concert hall forbade it, so we're going with a floral theme as he requested." Junko pushed up her circular glasses.

"Hehh… hhhH'EEEEIIIgghh-SHHhhiiiew!" Misaki's sneeze echoed through the hall, a sound so loud and high-pitched it could have shattered the very walls. "Flowers! Of all the…" she wheezed, "the nerve!" Her eyes watered, and her nose grew redder with every sniffle. She knew her voice was going to be a disaster.

"If you disagree with the flowers, the director explicitly stated that you won't be allowed to perform." Junko looked at the contract, which looked more like a scribbled-on mess than a proper document. "He states that he has an 'unnatural fear--,' "

"Respectfully…" Misaki growled through the sound of ruffling packs of tissues. "I don't care what the hell that son of a bitch has. Either we perform without the flowers, or hehhh, HTTT'SHHHIIEW! Heiih'TSCHHHIEW! Hehh'KTCHIIEW!" The resulting sneezes were louder and wetter than her usual allergy sneezes. She caught a glimpse of some daisies, which happened to be her worst allergy.

"Or you'll… blow him away?" A violet-haired woman—Ruzan Khajir—joked as she guided Misaki towards the back of the stage. "As much as we'd love you to play as the Big Bad Wolf, we're up in less than an hour."

"Heiit'SHhhiiiew! Hdzzchh'IIEW! Hehh'EEEEIIIDZCHHHiiewww!" Misaki sneezed thrice more into her now soggy tissues, which she feared she'd need more of.

"Furthermore," Junko looked at the scenery. "Given the floral background and the fact you'll sing to a bunch of people unaware of ZyxKyx, the director wants you to sing 'Magnolia' instead of 'Python's Bride,' as it falls in line with the aforementioned despised snake theme."

"You're fucking kidding, right?" Misaki's blue-green eyes went wide with frustration. "That song isn't even supposed to be out until next week… Hhh'TSHHHIEW! Huh'uhh-TSHEEWW! TScchh-HIIEW!"

"Junko, please." Tsukiko pleaded with Junko, who remained with a straight face. "Maybe we can get rid of the flowers, just until the song ends?" Tukiko's blue eyes looked at the offending bouquets of flowers with a grimace. "And… It's pretty obvious Misaki's allergic…"

"As far as I see it, we're screwed." Misaki snarled, her voice nasally. "You know how much rearranging the stage takes. And as for the song… heh… h'KTCHIIEW! Hh'KTSCHHIEW! Hh-KTT'chhiew!"

"Uhh, Misaki?" Junko suggested, almost as if her heart changed. "Perhaps you should sit this one out so—"

"Hhh… Junko." Misaki took a deep, ragged breath as she held up a hand while a ball of tissue was firmly placed in the other hand. "I'll handle it."

Arabella Vichelli, Misaki's best friend of many years, frowned. "Well, the least you can do is take an Allegra-D, and then we can--,"

"Up next…" At that point, Misaki prayed that the announcer onstage wouldn't tell them to come up front now. "Please welcome a freaking-awesome, avant-garde chic group of ladies hailing from all the way from Japan: ZyxKyx!" With that, Misaki's heart dropped.

The spotlight grew brighter as they took their positions, the heat from the lights mixing with her itchy nose. She watched her fellow members, their eyes glinting with excitement and anticipation, not a single one aware of the minefield they were about to tiptoe through. As the music started playing, she took a deep breath, and with a dramatic flair that could put any Shakespearean actor to shame, she stepped into the limelight.

"Ma…gn…HeyyeschhIIEW! Hehh'CHHHIEW!" The opening notes of "Magnolia" were ruined by another set of explosive high-pitched sneezes. The crowd giggled, assuming it was part of the act. Misaki shot a glare at the bouquet of assorted flowers standing tall at the center stage. She was going to kill that director.

"Yume no naka de me wo toji [Closing my eyes in the dream…]" Arabella sang the lyrics to 'Magnolia' with upbeat precision, giving Misaki a quick out. Misaki took another step forward, her eyes watering as she tried to ignore the blossoms taunting her. Misaki gave one look at Arabella, who was gearing up to sing the other half of the song. "You can be the flower that you want to be…"

With a decisive nod, Misaki slinked offstage to tend to her nose.

"It's okay, I've got this," Arabella whispered reassuringly. She stepped into the spotlight with a beaming smile that could melt the coldest of hearts, her eyes gleaming with determination. "Fukai kurayami wo nukete, Hikari ga sashikomu basho [Breaking free from the deep darkness; to the place where light pours in]!" she belted out, her voice clear and powerful, stepping in to cover for Misaki.

The crowd cheered, drawn into the catchy melody, blissfully unaware of the crisis unfolding backstage. Misaki, now out of the spotlight, found refuge in the cool embrace of the shadows. She sneezed again, this time quieter. "Heh'TCHIIEW!" She angrily swiped at her nose with a fresh tissue, her frustration palpable. The flowers had to go.

From behind, there was a lanky-looking Pakistani man, who looked sheepish. "I am Abdul, and I want to apologize for the sudden changes in your set." He continued looking more like a seasoned beggar than a businessman. "If you'll understand why I changed it--,"

Misaki saw red. She wanted none of it. "You ruined the whole thing!" She exclaimed with a sniffle that could curdle milk.

"I had no choice," Abdul replied, his voice thick with regret. "As the director, snakes bring bad luck--,"

"You listen here, Abby or whatever the fuck you're called. Changing the scene is one thing, but without our consent? Uncalled for. I'll make sure my PR manager has you ejected." The room grew tense. "You change one more thing, you'll owe us money, and I'll pehh… personally take your earnings." Misaki's sneezes had transformed into a symphony of fury. Her bandmates exchanged worried glances as they watched her battle the relentless flowers from the sidelines. The song went on, Arabella's voice soaring with the grace of a swan, a stark contrast to Misaki's plight.

At that point, Abdul's expression changed from a stiff businessman to a scared little man. "O-OK, I'll let you perform the next song without the flowers. I wasn't aware that you were allergic."

"And I wasn't aware that you were going to go behind our backs and be a lying sneak!" Misaki roared, her prominent nostrils flaring.

Abdul's eyes widened. "But, but, it's tradition!" he sputtered, holding his hands up in a feeble attempt to placate her. "Flowers bring in good luck!"

"When Junko comes, hand over your badge and pack your bags." Misaki growled, "I will not have you change any of our plans, especially without you consulting us. Go."

"Misa--,"

"GO!" Misaki bellowed with a finger jutting to the door. Abdul scurried away with his bag. Misaki then picked up the Bluetooth microphone Abdul left behind and turned it on. "Hey, when you're done with Magnolia, we'll perform 'Rivals of Love'. I'm coming back out once I get allergy meds in my system… and the flowers are gone." The stage crew, overhearing the exchange, scurried to remove the offending bouquets.

"Eien ni saki tsuzukeru… [I will forever bloom…]" Arabella belted out the final verse of the song as the audience roared with applause. Misaki took a moment backstage to compose herself, her nose still a battleground between her and the flowers.

She felt a gentle hand on her shoulder, and she looked up to see her bandmates' concerned faces. "You okay, boss?" Ruzan asked, her own performance energy now replaced with worry.

"Hehh… Hehh'TSCHHIEW! Hrr'ASSSCHHHiiew! ASSCHH-HIIEWW! Hehh'KKTCHHIEW!" Misaki buckled with a flurry of high-pitched wet sneezes. "Hehh'TSCHHIEW! Hehh! HEIIIDZCHHH'SHHHOOO!" The cutesy, demure quality of Misaki's sneezes died out. If anyone saw her, Misaki's nose was now as red as a beacon, forever twitching with the need to sneeze.

Arabella looked at her bandmates. "We need to do something… She's sneezing her head off over here…" Well, thanks, Captain Obvious. Now she needed to figure out when—and if—Misaki was going to perform center stage.

Misaki took a deep breath, her blue-green eyes watering so badly she couldn't see. She grabbed a bottle of water from the nearby table and took a long swig, hoping the moisture would soothe her raw throat. "I'm fine," she lied, her voice nasal and strained. "Just… just give me a minute." Her hand hovered over the Allegra-D bottle in her pocket, but she hesitated. Taking medication right before a performance wasn't ideal, especially not with the sudden change in the setlist. However, Misaki had no other option.

As the applause died down, she felt a rush of adrenaline and anger at the same time. This wasn't just about her allergies anymore; it was about respect for her group's vision. She threw back the pill and hoped for the best. "Let's go, girls," she announced with a sniff, trying to sound more confident than she felt. "We're going to give them a 'Rivals of Love' they'll never forget."

"Well, I agree." Ruzan smirked, her brown eyes looking at her bejeweled fingers. "We need to be prepared with whatever it takes." With that, Ruzan escorted Misaki to the stage.

"Welcome back, everyone!" Arabella beamed as the audience cheeed and howled with delight. "We have a special gift for you today! We're singing a new song that's coming out tonight on YouTube: 'Rivals of Love!' "

The opening notes played, and Misaki could only pray that her parts wouldn't sound gunky. She even had rapping parts embedded in the song, so she had to make this one count. "Mitsumeru tabi ni mune ga itaku naru, ano egao watashidake muite hoshī. Yasashi-sa ga tsumi datte shitterunoni. Kanojo no namae-kun no kuchibiru ni. [Every time I look at you, my heart aches. I want that smile only directed at me. Even though I know kindness is a sin. Her name on your lips.]" Good, good; she did that part well. And if she had to sneeze--,

"Hehh'YYZZCHHiiew! Heh'IT-CHEW!" She could give the part to Tsukiko, whom had a beautiful voice. "Shit…" She grabbed a tissue from her pocket, and blew her nose away from the audience, and the light beamed directly on Tsukiko, who belted out Misaki's part with ease.

"You say it’s just a friend, dakedo uso wa [But the lie has] no end…" Tsukiko sang it with as much precision as a seasoned singer.

Then the spotlight turned back to Misaki, who looked as refreshed as she had before she started sneezing. "Wakatteru, dakedo tomarenai kono [I know, but I can't stop.] Koi [This love], I won’t pretend." All of it was her parts, but hey, Tsukiko did great at managing it. Misaki cleared her throat and continued singing.

Tsukiko and Misaki were now face-to-face, singing their parts together with precision. "Rivals of love, hashiridasu [we start running]. Kokoro wa mōtomaranai [My heart won't stop.] Kimi o megutte futari no tatakai [The two of us are fighting over you.]" The song continued with precision, almost as if there wasn't a sneezy woman present.

Tsukiko's part came right after that, with Ruzan delightfully playing along with the act: two girls fighting over another girl. "Kisu no ato de miseta sono hohoemi. [That smile you showed me after the kiss.] Watashi dake ga shiru himitsu ga aru… [There's a secret only I know…] 'Kanojo' janakute 'watashi' o mite yo… [Look at me, not at her.] Sono kokoro yusaburitai. [I want to shake your heart.]"

Misaki took a deep breath, trying to hold in the next sneeze, as the crowd's energy swelled around her. The lights blazed down, turning the stage into a sauna of heat and pressure. She glanced over at her bandmates, each one poised and ready to fill in for her if she couldn't hold it together. The lyrics of "Rivals of Love" flowed around her, a symphony of love and longing that seemed to echo her own battle against the treacherous bouquets, which were now mere ghosts. Tsukiko and Misaki sang together once more: "Rivals of love, yumenouchi-kun to tewotsunaideta. Dare no tonari ga ichiban niau? [Rivals of love, in a dream. I was holding hands with you. Who do I look best next to?]" Damn, she had to sing this part with as much precision as the next singer.

Then, the rapping part came. Misaki's part was in English. "No rules, no lies, I’ll play to win. I won’t back down, I’m diving in. You light my fire, she’s just a spark. I’ve loved you longer, from the start." Misaki prayed she wouldn't have to sing rapid-fire like this, at least just for today. It hurt her throat.

But the crowd went wild, and she felt alive. Her heart pounded in her chest as the music grew louder. She had never felt so free, so uninhibited. It was as if she had left her shy, introverted self behind and become someone else entirely. Someone who could express the deepest parts of her soul through music and lyrics.

At least Tsukiko had the Japanese part to the rap. "Yuzurenai kimi no egao. Kako janakute “ima” o erabou. Kanojo yori mo aiseru yo. Honki de tsutaetai yo. [I can't give up on your smile. Let's choose the present, not the past. I love you more than she does. I really want to tell you this.]"

After the final chorus, the outro began. "We’re not enemies… Just two hearts… chasing one love… Rivals… of love…"

Right after the crowd applauded, Tsukiko, Arabella, Ruzan, and Misaki all walked offstage with their heads held high. Tsukiko, one of the newest members, couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. The performance had been exhilarating, and she was proud of what they had accomplished together. At the same time, she felt a bit overwhelmed by the sudden attention and applause. It was something she hadn't experienced before, and she wasn't entirely sure how to process it. She looked over at her friends, and she could see they were feeling a similar mix of excitement and nervousness.

When they all reconvened backstage, Misaki sniffed the air as a test, smiling at how she didn't sneeze right after that. "Alright everyone, we've got this," she said, trying to sound confident. "We can totally handle whatever comes our way."

Tsukiko looked at Misaki's blue-green eyes, which seemed to shine with allergic tears. "Are you sure, Misaki-san?" Tsukiko had a concerned look on her face, "You looked like you were trying to hold back the sneezes for a long time."

"I was." She blew her nose into an embroidered handkerchief. "For the record, I hate trying to hold my breath onstage… It's outright stifling." Her voice was muffled by the fabric, but the sentiment was clear. She'd had a tough night performing in that dusty old theater, and the conditions had not been ideal. The allergies had hit her hard, and she'd done her best to power through the show without letting it affect her performance. The audience had been kind, though she knew they'd noticed her discomfort.

"Hey, you're not sneezing anymore!" Ruzan exclaimed, although Misaki's nose twitched with a different story.

"Don't jihh--Hkk'KSchiew! Kschhiew! Itt'schiew! Heh-heh-Nght'shew!" Misaki pinched her nose as she sneezed four times into the fabric. "See, I told you the allergies didn't die…"

The sudden, explosive sneeze from Misaki was met with a chorus of giggles from her friends. When they went outside, Misaki pitched forward with an explosive "HASSHHIEW!" It wasn;'t nearly as loud as they were at the venue, but it still scared Tsukiko, who wasn't too used to the leader's sneezes.

Suddenly, a buzz on Misaki's phone came in. It was a text from Ayame. She was Misaki's older sister, certified mafia boss and Goth queen. "Yo, how the concert go?" The text seemed to be straightforward, but it still had the sharpness expected from a mafia boss. "Meet me at the boba tea shop."

Misaki quickly typed back, "It was amazing! Did you catch the show?" She knew her sister was busy with her own business but had hoped she could make it to the concert. Misaki had always felt a mix of pride and fear when it came to Ayame. Pride in her sister's success and fear for her safety in the dangerous world of the yakuza.

"I caught you bending forward a bit, but otherwise, it was a good show." Ayame texted back. "Besides, you did take your allergy meds, right?"

Misaki nodded in response to the text. "Yes, I did. Just had a small reaction before the show. It's all under control now." She blew her nose in the handkerchief again. "Can my posse come with?"

"Yeah, but just act normally." Ayame seemed to send one too many emojis with that. Some things never seemed to change.

I wanted to capture Misaki's perceived nature and true nature... A sneezy wolf in sheep's clothing.

CHAPTER ONE...

Saks is Free Real Estate!

Misaki Musoubana, the epitome of Tokyo's elite, strutted through Los Angeles with the eyes of a hungry tiger. As she pondered into Saks Fifth Avenue, she relished how everything looked. She whisked through the luxurious racks of the boutique with the grace of a gazelle, her long black hair bouncing gently in rhythm with her confident stride. Her greenish-blue eyes sparkled with the excitement of finding the perfect ensemble for the upcoming gala. The spring air was a minefield of pollen and dander, but she'd never let it show.

Not in public.

Not with her best friend, Sarsaparilla "Ria" Contreras, who had the unfortunate timing to be in the throes of her own fashion emergency.

"Misaki," Ria whispered, her hazel eyes full of concern, "are you sure about this? You just got paid..."

Misaki's hand shot up, silencing her friend with a delicate yet firm gesture. She took a deep, unnecessary sniff, her prominent nostrils flaring like the petals of a particularly irritated orchid. "Posh, darling. It's fine. Besides, we ought to live a little, no?" Her high-pitched, nasally British accent was as soothing as a serrated knife on velvet.

Ria, with her short blond hair with blue undertones and a small, straight nose adorned with a septum piercing, looked skeptical. She knew Misaki's allergies could turn a delightful day into a sneezing symphony. "Well, it is pretty dusty," she protested, her voice a sweet blend of worry and doubt. "Are you sure going to such a high end store was a good idea?"

Misaki's hand fluttered to her nose again, her fingers lingering briefly before she spoke. "I've got this new nose spray, darling. The latest in hypoallergenic technology. It's supposed to be the bee's knees, so no need to worry about me turning into a walking tissue factory." She flashed a dazzling smile, her mole on her right cheek seeming to wink in the store's soft lighting.

The two friends continued their shopping spree, Ria's eyes darting around the store as she searched for the most avant-garde pieces that would make heads turn at the gala. Meanwhile, Misaki's nose began to itch with the intensity of a thousand mosquito bites. She tried to ignore it, focusing on the fabrics that whispered against her pale skin. Yet, with every breath she took, the scent of freshly dry-cleaned clothes and the faint hint of floral perfume wafted in, setting her allergies ablaze. "Hh... Hk'nxt!" Misaki stifled a sneeze with sheer willpower.

"What was that noise?"

Misaki's eyes watered, and she gave a delicate sniff. "Nothing." She lied, her voice nasal and strained.

Ria's gaze searched her face, and she looked ready to argue further, but Misaki was already moving on. "Look at this," she cooed, holding up a dress that was the color of a moonlit night. It shimmered with beads and sequins, the fabric whispering promises of elegance and opulence. She held it against her body, and the fabric clung to her curves like a second skin. "It's divine, don't you think?"

Misaki's nose twitched again, and she swiped at it with the back of her hand, the urge to sneeze growing stronger. "It's a bit... Old, isn't it?" Ria suggested, eyeing the garment with suspicion.

"Old?!" Misaki scoffed, her voice pitched high enough to shatter glass. "This is vintage, darling. The kind that makes a statement!" She held the dress closer to her large chest, as if protecting it from Ria's uncultured critique.

"Okay, if you say so..." Ria rolled her eyes and followed her friend's lead.

But the dress was the least of her worries. The itch in her nose had spread to the back of her throat, setting off a tickle that grew with every breath. Her eyes watered more, and she could feel her sinuses swelling shut. "hhHEHH’TSHIEWWW!!!" she finally couldn't hold it in, the sneeze exploding from her like a firecracker, the dress momentarily forgotten.

"Holy crap, bless you!" Ria's exclamation pierced the air, a stark contrast to the elegant ambiance of the boutique. She watched as Misaki's entire body convulsed with the sneeze, her eyes squeezed shut and her head thrown back, the force of the explosion sending a spray of saliva into the air. It was a stark reminder that even the most put-together of socialites weren't immune to the whims of the natural world. "Are you okay?"

Misaki's nostrils flared in preparation for another sneeze. She pinched her flaring nostrils shut, eager to continue shopping. "Ria, darling," she gasped out between clenched teeth, "I'm fine." Her voice, a melody of adenoidal sweetness, became a strained nasally dirge. Misaki couldn't believe it. Her eyes watered, and her long pointed nose took on a life of its own. There was no hiding it. She was going to have a damn allergy attack. The sneeze - or sneezes - could either be contained or become a full-blown, nose-blowing fiasco. Sadly, Misaki's urge to just sneeze her life savings away was all but inevitable.

They moved on, her eyes darting around the store like a caffeinated squirrel searching for a nut. A cloud of fine dust rose from a rack of fur coats, and she couldn't resist running her fingers along the fur. "Misaki!" Ria's voice was a warning siren. "Oh my goodness, look at this... It's so exquisite!"

Unfortunately for Misaki, her nostrils couldn't take the billowing cloud of dust. Her large breasts heaved involuntarily, the black low cut blouse stretching with the fabric. With a poised forefinger and thumb, Misaki pinched her quivering nostrils shut. To her horror, a squelching wet sound resulted from squishing them together. The pressure built... And... "Hghh'IGHXT!! Nggght! Huh-MMmpt-shh!" Misaki stifled three sneezes in rapid succession. Damn it, her asthma was probably going to join the misery too.

Ria, bless her heart, tried to remedy the situation. Unfortunately, running her hands through the furry fabric, real or no, was a death sentence waiting to happen. "Ooh, Misaki! Try this on!" What Ria pulled out, to Misaki's horror, was a mink jacket. Yes, the mink was divine and shiny. But to all who knew her, Misaki was dreadfully allergic to fur.

Misaki's greenish blue eyes looked at the fabric. The itch she tried staving off rekindled its potent flame.

"Ria. Are you sure about thihh-this?" she said, her voice nasal and tight. Misaki's voice wavered with sneezy hitches. "It's nea--hhhihhh--nearly suhhh.... Suhhh..." Two manicured fingers of poise fled under her filling nostrils.

Ria then saw the danger in front of her too little, too late. "Misaki, don't --,"

"Huhh... Huhh'KKKNNNT! Huhh'KKKSSHT! HAKKK'Kkntt!!" The squelched sneezes sounded horrendously unsatisfying and harsh. Misaki was about to provide a sultry retort to her bestie for trying on the damned mink jacket. Realizing resistance was futile beneath the spray of freshly produced sneezes, Misaki played along with her body's whims. "Heh-heh-ehh-ahh-AHHHH!"

Ria's hazel eyes widened in horror. "Oh shit, you're --,"

"--Hih'HIHH'hHH... EEEEHHHkKK'SHhHhEEE-HEEW!!" The mess of a sneeze that burst from Misaki was a tawdry attempt at being, what was it? Demure. Cute. Poised. Refined. Misaki prayed - no - pleaded to the gods that her sneeze session would stop. The sneeze was so sinfully loud that it caused more than a few bewildered shoppers to pause. Saks Fifth Avenue was definitely not the place to blow a gasket. Even the people giving out wine samples turned away.

"Okay, Misaki, I think that's enough sh--,"

"HEHH... IIssch'SHHYIEW! AHht'SHIIEW! Hhht'shhHIEW!" It was at this point she found out: Ria fucked up big time. The resulting sneezes sounded like a wounded dove, high pitched, nasally and shrill. Then... Misaki has a sinister idea. The taller woman removed the jacket, the contents slithering to the floor. The billowing dust of mink snaked up Misaki's sensitive nostrils.

Ria saw Misaki groping for a dress she practically cried for within the last three weeks. An $850 lavender mini dress with a heart shaped opening for the chest area got snatched from the rack. Ria realized that her friend was going to do the unfathomable. "Don't you dare--,"

"Hehh!! HAAESCHHHH-yYIEWWW!!" Misaki, to Ria's horror, decided to pull a dick move, which consisted of sneezing all over the beautiful dress... And everything else she wanted. The moment Misaki lifted the fabric of the mini dress to her nose, a brief flash of a knowing smile beamed before her nostrils flared wildly, and sneezed heartily into it. "Hghhhh... HGHHHH'GSZCHHHIEWW! Hah'TSSshhyeEWW!! Huh... HUT'SCHHHIIIEW! CHIIIEW! 'SCHHHIEEEWW!!" At this point, the spectacle was palpable.

What a scene.

A Japanese British woman sneezing into a bunch of new and expensive clothes to kill the price tag felt gross and disrespectful to Ria.

"Misaki, for fuck's sake!" Ria's sweetness turned sour, her eyes narrowing into slits. "You're going to get us kicked out!"

And Misaki didn't give two shits. She wanted - no - NEEDED everything. With a resigned sigh, Misaki's sweetness fell to oblivion. "Respectfully, Ria dear, I fucking need this." Misaki practically dragged her friend with the clothing of choice into a dressing room, completely unsolicited.

"Ew... What the fuck?"

"Girl's got issues...."

"Robbie, let's go." A myriad of people were at the store, hearing a snotty firecracker blow up.

In the dressing room, Misaki's plight worsened. In fact, her normally pristine Hime cut looked disheveled and sprinkled with the last several allergic sneezes. "Okay, what the FUCK are you doing?!"

"Reaching for the stars, sweet... Hea... Ahh... HASHHH'YYYIEEWW! HESCHHH-IIEEWW! HKPTSCHHHIEW! HKK'TSCHHIEW! ISSHHH-ShYYyIEWW!" The sneezes sounded like a shrieking little girl's, shrill and high pitched at the end. "God, everything's bloody dust... DustIiieh-HHHH!!"

"Don't you fucking DARE!!" But it was far, far, far too late. The lavender silk dress, a once pristine canvas of elegance, now bore the brunt of Misaki's drenching sneezes. Her prominent nose was a twitching, snotty mess, and Ria could only stand there, horrified. She knew that look in Misaki's eye—it was a blend of desperations and spite. Through hell or high water, Misaki was going to manipulate this situation to her 'advantage,' and there was no stopping her.

Misaki's nasal shrieks grew in volume and frequency, each one echoing through the plush walls of the dressing room. Her body, usually a bastion of poised elegance, jerked with each spasm. She could feel the eyes of the other shoppers burning into her back, judging her lack of decorum. "Ughh... HEDZCHHHHHOOOO! HEGHHZCHHHH'IEIU! HDDDDGHHH-SHYyIUUU! AEEESCHHHIEEW!!" But the itch in her nose had become an all-consuming need, a siren's call that she couldn't ignore. The dressing room had become a battlefield, with her allergies the enemy and the clothes her unwilling accomplices.

Even Misaki's high pitched nasal explosions turned into undignified howls for long lost control. Through the smell of roses and sneezes, Ria braced herself. She knew the manager was going to be beyond pissed.

Misaki, in a fit of desperation, threw the soiled garments over Ria's head. "Ew, what the hell?!" Of course, little did Ria know, this was Misaki's calculated plan the entire time. She had zero intention to buy anything, if at all.

"Take these to the counter and ask for a discount, darling," she ordered, her voice muffled and nasal. "Tell them it's an ehh... Merr... GeHHH!!"

"Come off it, Misaki--,"

The dove's nostrils flared twice their already large size, her sneezes drenching the poor embroidered handkerchief. "AEEESCHHHIEEW! HuhhRESSSCHHH-iew! ASHHH-IIIEW! HAHH-RESHHH-IIIEW! HAAHH-EDDZCHHH-SHHIIEWWW!"

"Okay, stop it--,"

"Use that sweet, innocent act of yours." Misaki's greenish blue eyes sparkles with mischief and watery evil. "It's a fashion emergency, so chop chop." She ordered like a mother ordering a child.

Ria's hazel eyes narrowed, the haze of the dust and fur settling around her. "But, Mi-,"

"Just. Fucking. Do it." Misaki's tone darkened to pure poison. "Or I'll break your God damn phone." Knowing how vicious Misaki's older sister was, Ria knew better than to cross a bona fide tigress in sheep's clothing.

Ria's jaw clenched, but she knew when Misaki had reached her limits. With a huff, she gathered the soiled garments and stormed out of the dressing room, the clothes leaving a trail of sneezed-on sparkles behind her. With a sheepish expression, Ria braced for the inevitable, feeling the wetness on her hands. "Sorry about that, Vinnie. She wants everything."

A sweet, burly redhead - apparently named Vinnie - looked at the clothes in disgust. All 10 garments and a purse faced Misaki's allergic wrath. The man gave three looks at each garment. "Well .. that'll be $167.88. Can you tell your friend to feel better for me?"

"I sh--"

Misaki emerged from the dressing room, her long nose reddened and chapped. "AH-ESCHIEW! HASHHIEW! HAT-SCHHIEEWW!" The furious clicking of heels turned away from Ria, exiting the store with haste.

Ria's expression crumbled. "I will..." And give her a piece of my God damn mind, she thought.

The moment Ria paid for the items, she saw Misaki blowing the absolute heck out of her perky, refined nose. The moment she emerged from her expensive handkerchief, her nose looked absolutely red and swollen. Her eyes were watery, her cheeks flushed, and her face was an absolute disaster. "Thank you, Ria darling," she sang, her voice nasally and smug. "You're my favorite pup." The patronizing pat on the head made Ria feel like she was all but a lapdog.

This had to stop. "This is the last time I'm taking you anywhere."

"ESCHH'iIEEEWWW!!" Misaki's nose was a battleground of itchiness and irritation. She couldn't even breathe properly, let alone maintain the poised composure she was known for. Each step she took through the bustling streets of Los Angeles felt like a marathon in a desert of pollen. The air was thick with the scent of spring's unwelcome embrace, and she could feel her sinuses screaming in protest. "Hih'HCHHHIIEWW!" The sneezes had turned into a symphony of despair, a nasal concerto that would make even the most stoic of composers weep.

"Are you even listening to me?" Ria's voice pierced through the haze of Misaki's misery, her hazel eyes flashing with a rare hint of anger. But Misaki was too far gone, lost in the relentless maelstrom of sneezes and sniffles to care about the consequences of her actions. Misaki stumbled out of Saks Fifth Avenue, her handkerchief a soggy mess in her hand. The pollen-filled air outside did little to alleviate her suffering, the springtime bloom a cruel reminder of her body's treacherous betrayal.

Misaki's expression wavered a little. "You were the one who suggested the outing. Hence, you pay the price." With a chuckle, Misaki fanned her face with the handkerchief and sneezed heartily into it. "HASCHHHIEEW! ASHHH-IIIEW! HII'SHIIIEW!"

"Good Lord..." Ria's eyes narrowed as she followed her friend's chaotic sneezing. "You're despicable."

"Huh?" Misaki gave a knowing look.."The next place we're headed is the dry cleaners. Don't worry. It'll be fine, darling."

Ria's face contorted into a grimace. "What the--"

"Oh, I know you'll play along, dearie." Misaki smiled with a beaming, conniving grin. "You always do."

Ria couldn't believe it. Misaki had always had a flair for drama, but this was a whole new level of extravagance. "You're unbelievable," Ria grumbled, holding the bag of discounted, sneezed-on garments like it was a sack of dirty laundry.

Of course, when they walked towards Misaki's beautiful black Buick, Misaki made a beeline for the passenger side. "Come now. Drive off like you're proud."

Ria rolled her eyes, slammed the door shut, and revved the engine, feeling the vibration in her core. The scent of freshly cut grass wafted through the open window, and it was all Misaki could do not to sneeze again.

The grassy smell felt like Ria's answer to the ordeal. Misaki gave an accusatory glare at the windows. She clamped a manicured hand over her mouth and nose, her eyes squeezed shut as she tried to breathe through her mouth. It was like trying to keep a dam from breaking with nothing but a handkerchief. "Hegh... Hegh-CHIIEW! HESCHHIEEW! HAAH-SCHHIEW! Hehhh-AHH-CHIIIIEWW!" The sneezes ripped through Misaki like a tornado, leaving her gasping for air and her eyes streaming with tears.

"Jesus..." Ria groaned, "Okay, after the dry cleaners, where do you want to go?"

"Fleming's." A proud answer that Ria couldn't believe came out of her mouth. "We deserve the victory food. Plus..." Misaki gave her friend a smile. "You've been a good little kitten so far."

"If you say so." The ride to the dry cleaners was a silent symphony of sniffles and sneezes. The pollen had claimed its prize, and Misaki was the hapless victim. Ria felt a pang of pity, but she knew her friend's true nature. She had to draw a line in the sand, or she'd be forever cleaning up after her messes, both literal and figurative.

Misaki is also addicted to gambling and trolling others.

Allergies: Misaki, much like her sister, is a photic sneezer. She also has bad sinuses to a fault and mild asthma. Misaki's allergies are much, much worse than Ayame's.
