Of all the deaths and killings Eden has committed for the sake of living, she doesn't regret one caused by her own hands.. except, indeed, solely and exclusively, the death of her twin sister: Enid.

As children, the two vampires used to stay close and always together; Eden was the stronger of the two, Enid the more emotional and fragile.. and so Eden always wanted to protect her, with all her strength, and be by her side, because her sister was the only person who made her feel not just like a warrior among Silas's ranks, but also more human and alive.

Never would she have imagined that it would be she who would take her life in cold blood.

Their mentor, instructor, and the one they both called "father" had devised a horrific plan to destroy Enid, because she had discovered that Silas wasn't actually their real father, that the dangerous criminal was actually the same reaper who had killed their mother and the disappearance of their real father, Evander.

Silas couldn't allow even his strongest and best pupil, Eden, to know this.

And he considered Enid, with her kindness and fragility, useless and a burden.. so he imprisoned her, without her other sister's knowledge.

He disguised her with a sack over her head, making her unrecognizable and making her pass for a rebel against his tyranny of the people of Enchances, tasking Eden with killing the supposed enemy.. and she did so, unable to recognize her little sister's true face.

Only years later did Silas's devoted servant, Eden, who had always sensed a sense of inspiration and growth in him, discover the true story behind that face: it wasn't pirates who killed her sister, but herself.

A deception, a fraud, that she hated more than anything else in her life, and for which she would never truly forgive.
