this is Vivien. He’s a French noble from the 1600s who ran away from home to “go on an adventure” and totally not because he was not appreciated by his family. Vivien assumes everything is great in every aspect. Despite his stupidity and malinformed nature, he means the best and is liked by most. His charisma and optimism make him well-loved by those he meets.
He avoids conversation about his origins. His happy-go-lucky attitude falters if people ask where he’s from.
He strives to be liked by everyone, which is likely why he sticks around Pierre so often. He is just making sure Pierre likes him.
He definitely has low self confidence despite believing he can do most things and is pretty great. It probably stems from high expectations and standards from his family…?
Pierre: Working-class Frenchman who’d very much like to hit Vivien over the head with a shovel. He likes Vivien fine because he’s likeable and charismatic but Pierre is not very patient with him and his idiocy. He gets offended at any misinformed statement vivien says.
He teaches Vivien how to work hard and about the working-class (intellectually). They become good friends.
Martine: Pierre’s sister. She gets less annoyed by Vivien than Pierre when it comes to saying stupid stuff, but can’t handle his lack of worldly knowledge and experience. She teaches him how to work.
Vivien’s low self esteem and general belief that no one likes him (unless they say otherwise) is the main conflict point to his and Martine’s romance because he doesn’t even THINK about her liking him even though she is pretty fast to understand her feeling. That and Pierre’s protectiveness over Martine are the main conflicts to their relationship. But also I think that Pierre will have become good friends with him at the point where Vivien starts thinking about that and knows that it was inevitable because he knows his sister well and because vivien is adorbable and we all love him hooray
Some lovely faces <3

My custom Hawke, Piyaʕ/Pierre Hawke. He’s a red/blue spirit healer mage, and a Fenmancer (they r t4t. obviously.) . His father was Chasind, and his mother was Kirkwall/Orlesian. He carries the hereditary name of Piyaʕ (Red tailed hawk in English which is also how his father was given the common last name Hawke), as well as an anglicized version, Pierre, from Leandra.
Please ask me about celine ivy pierre and helene im insane abt them today
