- Flow & Drift

Story below the cut (or at least what i felt like writing i'm sick rn)

Flow is the Allwing product of a breeding experiment basically just to see what an Allwing would be like in reality. She is able to shift colors but tends to stay in cool greens like seen here. She suffers from overproduction of venom due to her Rainwing, Sandwing and Hivewing genes mixing wrong; this leaves her constantly tired and unable to be active for long periods of time.

Drift is her father...technically. He is an animus who was one of the scientists conducting the experiment that made Flow (he wasn't the one in charge just one of the dragons observing how the genes interacted). He didn't particularly like the way the dragonets that were being born there were being treated but kept his head down, until Flow and her brother's eggs were laid.

They were the true destination for the experiment, but that's ALL they were. Just lab rats to be studied their entire lives. The other dragonets had been allowed to leave after enough data was collected, but the study on the two Allwings would never be completely done.

Drift broke into their hatchery and stole both their eggs, guards were able to get Flow's brother's egg back but Drift escaped with her egg. He was unable to fully change her (i'm making animus magic not ALL-powerful in this), so instead he replaces the Icewing genes already present in her with his own (he does this while she's still in the egg).

He takes her to the Icewing Kingdom and as is tradition (in this story at least lol) the Queen [Queen Borealis] and her daughter [Princess Puffin] oversee the hatching. Thankfully, the Queen is quite kind and greets the dragonet as she would any other Icewing. She jokingly suggests the name "Curiosity" since Flow is such an odd dragonet. Princess Puffin suggests "Flow" bc of the color changing scales and how the colors seem to 'flow'; plus she points out it sounds like 'Floe' as in 'Ice Floe'.

That's all i'm gonna write about it for now lol

Was Drift ever afraid Redline would have a darker side to him, taking after Deadlock?

I imagine he had some general anxieties about it while Redline was young, but overall-! Redline was a very sweet little baby and he didn’t worry about it much after that

He did have one moment when Redline was an adult that scared him quite a bit tho

New Blorbos Unlocked!

So, this all started after I watched a YouTube short about a venus fly trap, then I began to think about that poor clone who got eaten by the vixus on Umbara and became very sad.

Of course, like any creative, I scurried off to my local discord server to share my woes, and after discussing some tentacle things, I decided to create a fix-it AU for the poor guy.

[No, this AU does not contain tentacle porn]

His name is Drift, and he's been with the 501st since the beginning of the war. He's seasoned, scarred, and been through hell. Being eaten by a vixus would've been awful.

Luckily, another clone named Catch was able to shoot the tentacle that had Drift in its clutches and release him. Catch caught Drift princess style, and it was love at first sight.

Catch has also been with the 501st since the beginning of the war, and they kept passing by each other without knowing the other existed. Then fate intervened and brought them together for a beautiful love story.
